I wouldn't know where to start. So many choices so many food. One of my fav are the fried chive dumpling with pork and the bean curd wrap. My advice is when you go to a tea house , always monitor your meal ticket just so the waitress doesn't cheat you.

we went to Lin Heung for dimsum as well and met the same old man you met..we were told by the waiter there that he is there every single day and got all friendly with tourists so that we will buy him some dimsum..did he ask you to treat him to a dimsum or two..?

This is a great video with perfect English for understanding. It would be a little helpful if you included pricing in some of the meal selections. It helps tourists understand the value of good street food. I have visited China a few times for travel. But I am coming soon to teach English. So excited to be coming.
HK is different from China. Though same ethnicity, different cultures and social systems. Taiwan and Singapore are also very different Chinese ethnic societies from the China.
lin foote actually the people from Hong Kong and China have different ethnicities. Most Hongkongese are ethnically Cantonese so they share the same ethnicity with some people that are from the very southern parts of what is now China and are distinct from the rest.

Cafe de Coral only if you want to know what HK people eat on an average day out (or during office lunch breaks) - it's basically Hong Kong's fast food (aside from the abominations known as McDonalds and KFC :P)... which is pretty awesome considering the incredible variety and relatively good quality of food for a fast food place. But don't expect it to be amazing :P
