Hey Tony good stuff. I'm trying to grow some canaan's on my property, seedlings at the moment. Any suggestions you could offer to increase chances of survival, or care tips for the species? I'm on an open lot with a slight grade, Brighton, MI. Thanks!!

Thanks for the comment. I believe that canaan are the easier fir to grow, they don't break bud super early and are a little more forgiving on drought. Planting time is now so hopefully you're getting them soon. If we do start to lack rain later in the summer water them and they should be fine. I haven't noticed any survival difference when using the slow release pellets. Are you stating a farm of just planting some for a wind break?

@@Hillsidechristmastreefarm hey Tony thanks for the reply. These seedlings have been in the ground since last year actually, some are looking a little beat up, appear to have some winter burn but hopefully they rebound. Mainly for landscaping/wind break, but might harvest a few down the road for my Xmas tree.

Another great video! Thanks for sharing your expertise!
What nutrient program do you provide your trees? I’m using Fertiactyl GZ by TIMAC to help with density.

Thanks Ryan. I wouldn’t say we have a program. I soil test and then just adjust the NPK as needed.

You're welcome. Believe me they'll be there before you know it. Where are you located?
