I like the idea but, people spraying it are staying too close and it comes out blotchy/streaky, unless you spray more than one coat. you need to spray it further off the body so the stuff covers wider strokes, you still need to know how to paint, it's a combination of air pressure and distance.
im gonna raptorline my Cummings diesel... any tips for what you prepped with (sanding) and how you were able to tint grey... my truck is white but im not gonna use black cause i live in Texas and its gonna cook me lol... I think im gonna go to grey.. any tips for tinting all bottles the same? Thanks
I was watching your video, did you use the ACID#8 ACID ETCH PRIMER? not trying to be a critic, I am getting ready to do my Tacoma 2017 off road truck. Thanks
On the roof I did use acid etching primer and the raptor spray did not respond any better. May be my fault. Think the primer flash dried due to too much psi or too much heat. Either way if primered in better conditions the roof result may have been better. Has not rusted on rest of body where primer was not installed. Hope this helps.
How does this hold up? I;ve read DIY liners chip and crack. Buddy just did his F150. Thinking of doing my Chevy. But want to make sure this shit is there to stay/last. If not I'll just pony up the extra and buy a Rhino or Line-X professional spray.
+NoOneImportant556 well iv done my truck in it and its not chipped its the best. I even had a crash i hit somone up the back and it didnt even dent or chip it but it smashed the back of someons car up brand new 2015 car and dented his but not mine we spray trucks for a living its our company
Hey bro, thx for this example! I was wondering how your Raptor paint is holding up after 4 years? Has the shine faded from sun or any other issues?? Thx for your help
MightyQuinnJ VR Realm. Thanks for asking. Most are interesting in posting strange comments or being haters. There has been an usual amount of interest in this spray video. Given that, it's only fair that I post a new vid with finished product 4 years later to prove not everyone with an opinion matters. My Jeep looks almost as good today as the day I finished it. couldn't be happier with the product. Keep tuned in for the next video. Thanks
Wow sweetness! Yeah I don't get why people think UA-cam posts are for them to play Simon Cowell on a game show 😐 Sorry people suck! I just take in what I can from vids like this! And this is about the only one you can actually tell how much you can cover per bottle👍 thx for the tip and I'll subscribe for that Review vid😎👍
thats gold?? for some reason it looks more like grey silver to me? color looks nice though! does the liner still look okay after all these years or did it not hold up?
Abraham Rios. holding up very well. Only place that i am not happy with is above the windshield. Pealing a bit. I primed the roof and don't like the sheen as much as the rest of the jeep that is unprimed.
After taking a good look at why it's peeling I've come to realize it has begun to shrink after 4+ years. It is no longer rubbery and has lost all moisture in the texture. It is starting to peal in several places. On primed services and non. Guess 4- years in the Texas sun is this products lifespan. Will post a new video to show.
+Chris Medrano is that why folks wipe it down with xylene or something? maybe theres a primer out that woud etch.. i agree that it would stick the best on an etched surface
+Kevin S. its recommend the you spray a self etching primer over the bare metal spots for best adhesion. plus if there is a adhesion problem , your warranty is voided if you skip that step
Upol acid #8 is their primer they recommend. You can spray raptor right over it. You're never supposed to spray right onto acid etch primer but with theirs you can
Stephane Genest . Thank you for your inspiring words. In case you missed the point of my video was to share in my experience. Not to teach you how to screw up yours. Check a sponsored link if you want an instructional video.
I love how this dude is like fuck PPE... I do what I want
don't be a puss..y

Thanks for this video just what i needed to know how much i will be able to spray in 1 bottle all the other videos never show you this
Finally!!! A paint product named after me!!!!
No primer ? The result is still OK in 2024 ?
Hey man how many bottles of raptor to spray your truck
You've prepped and yet you sprayed over dents in the rear passenger quarter panel ?
Nice paint job and looks awesome! Did you use a 4 qt kit? how many coats and how much psi?
What size compressor are you using?? Nice work!!! Cheers!!!
What color did u use?? Did u put the video of the update since then already???
I have a question, i want to do this to my ford ranger, and is every bottle really last that much for one coat??
Sehr gewissenhaft und sauber gearbeitet....... 💪

How has that raptor liner been holding up
How is your longterm experience after 5 years?
How does this hold up?

What’s your compressor setup like ? i’m wondering if my pancake one can handle it
I was using a 5hp 5 gallon. Your pancake will do just fine. Doesn't require a lot of pressure. Think I sprayed at 40psi?
Aaron Woodrow I was thinking of going 40-50 ish too , thanks for the help !

Also what Jeep is this? I had a 1977 Cherokee Chief that had a similar look.. I loved that jeep!
MightyQuinnJ VR Realm . This is an 88 Grand Wagoneer. Blacked the bottom and fender flares. 4 inch lift on 33's. Mine and wifies favorite toy.
Sweet ride😎👍 I had 33's on my 77.. they built em like tanks back in the day💪
Скажите пожалуйста, если этот Раптор покрасить на машину, вибро, шумо, изоляция есть? Машина тише в салоне?. И можно ли на раптор автолак покраисть?
How many bottles did you use for the whole truck?
6 bottles in total
You where suppose to prime that metal.
Abiti3131 i primered the roof and did not like the finish. 5 years later and no rust yet. Use at your own risk
Supposed to prime not only for rust, but they say raptor has adhesion problems on bare metal
how can you get a fine finish? not a rough coarse texture. higher air pressure?
Thanks
adding 20% reducer
anyone know what color this was that he used for this raptor liner project? didnt hear him say the color
I used the same gold from 1991 wagoneer. Came out much more flat but had a hint of metal flake.
thats gold?? for some reason it looks more like grey silver to me? color looks nice though! does the liner still look okay after all these years or did it not hold up?
Awesome! I want to do this with my Blazer!
I'd like to see a scratch test with a key. Have you seen the Russians vid comparing the two? I wish it were in English though
What psi did u shoot it at???
im looking for that color. what color did you use
HOW MUCH PSI AIR FOR FINE FINISH
75 psi but it'll never be "fine". just less coarse
40 course - 80 fine
Instructions recommend 40-60 psi. Higher psi, smoother texture
did it stick good without primer nd what psi did u use
you want to self etch primer the bare metal spts and any spots you missed sanding good you want to adhesion promote.
and you want to spray it between 40-60 psi
did u self etch primer this truck u did nd if not did it stick good
+High Romero i didnt do this truck i just use and sell raptor
+Medrano chris Do you know what color he is spraying being you sell this. Also what is the primer called you spoke about earlier
nice painting technique
How many quarts to do the whole truck?
Adam Bleech. 7 tintable and 3 black for the rockers hood and bumpers
thanks
Where is the primer dude??
Who cares, just blow it on there!
what it that colour called
How is the raptor paint holding up?

Why is it peeling? Prep?

Dang you didn't even etch the bare metal spots??? Yikes!!!

self etching primer; first i've heard of that; thanks for the info!
