I'm running my DAW output through this pedal in mono with a stereo return back into my interface. The right channel is much louder than the left. Do you have any idea of what could cause this?
Cool video! I just took a dive down into the diy pedal rabbit hole. I've taken two small electronics classes, but they were years ago. Still, I like seeing all parts. I actually have a number of those ICs. Nice playing, too, I'm looking forward to more videos, subbed.
It’s a rabbit hole that goes very deep. We’ve got more content on the way and a bunch of stuff for DIY and beginners tech however we’ve just been super busy between flooding around us and a bunch of new equipment coming into the store.
@@drgearaustralia Well done! Just watched this video because Mason @ Vertex shouted you out in his video on the reissue TC Chorus: ua-cam.com/video/L9p_bQKtblc/v-deo.html
@@theodorek.b.2103 oh wow, that is awesome! There are a few more that have been shot however due to time constraints from a lack of staff, they've not been edited and uploaded yet. This has given me the incentive to put a bit more priority on them as there's also some vintage/reissue comparisons that hopefully will get people talking.
Wow, lots of naysayers in the comments. I came here to find out what components (especially the BBD) were on the board and I wasn't disappointed. Great teardown and analysis, thank you. It does make me wonder how close it sounds to the old mn3007 version.
It’s comparable but with a few updates for modern parts and an SMD layout and a lower noise floor. The core of it is much the same and uses the same commander setup.
It’s a Musictribe product, so made in China. You won’t get a European made pedal at this price. Not that it matters, where a pedal is made is less important than the acceptable yield the company specifies.
Well made video but why ( like so many other reviews ) spend so much time with the controls maxed out or very high , where hardly anyone uses it . Maybe a small clip using the stereo outs would have been nice 😊👍
Most of the clips were with the settings around mid way and some with them quite low. There was the the one cranked clip which shows how it can go for a leslieish tone. Very few people have stereo rigs these days so doing stereo demos with limited time isn’t something we felt would be super useful.
This is an interesting video concept that can potentially be extremely informative; however, what are your conclusions? I think that, without being an expert in electronics, it's hard to understand your opinion about what you saw.
Thanks for the feedback. We’re still refining the concept and didn’t quite articulate the conclusion well enough. Check out the next one, should be more concise.
Thanks for this! Excellent dissection and analysis. You even made it sound great!

Not a clue.
Cool concept for a video, I like the breakdown of the pedal.
Thanks, we’ve got more on the way and we’re doing more than just pedals.

Great review of a great pedal, thanks!

Great video, subscribed. Good luck with your channel!
What was the BBD Chip used in the original TCE Stereo Chorus Flanger in the late 1970s-80s? MN3005 or MN3007/MN3008?
How many BBDs Chips were used?
The schematic is out there online, download a copy and have a read. It’ll tel you much about the circuit.
AMAZINGGGGG I LOVE THIS VIDEOS
Wonder what it sounds like
Awesome channel and content!
Great video
Thanks! We’ve got more in the works including amps and instruments. Hopefully you’ll check them out.
Hi is this pedal similar to the original? Thanks

Is the SCF mnufactured in Denmark still or China or does it say?

It it supposed to be closer to the original 70’s/80’s unit? The later reissue didn’t sound the same..
The circuit is very close to the original models with some minor tweaks for lower noise and to use modern BBDs as well as SMD components.
No wonder it sounds so magnificent. Unlike popular opinion would lead you to believe, the 3207 destroys the 3007 bd chip.

That always bugs me too on reviews of phaser/flanger/tremolo. I hate the maxed out fast sound 😆

Synths people need stereo!

@@drgearaustralia definitely gonna do!
Whoicaresas long as it sounds as good as teh original ones.
It looks cheaply made but I appreciate the lack of graphics and stupid name.
You just demod a stereo pedal in mono? what a waste of time. that is the best you could do?
Yup considering 99% of players use mono rigs, most people are fine with it.
Where’s your stereo demo? Come on, you’re welcome to do one yourself.
Pretty useless flanger demo
