If you were to purchase a new inkjet printer that uses pigmented inks for all the colors then you wouldn't need to seal the prints. Pigmented inks are virtually waterproof, smear & smudge proof, with a life span of up to 100 years (personal printers, longer for commercial) before fading is visible to the naked eye. The best pigmented inkjet printers are from Epson. For Epson look for DuraBright inks.
Now having said that Roland makes a lovely UV desktop printer/cutter and a desktop UV printer that you might like as well. They have one model in a variety of sizes that allows you to print directly to 3D physical items (pens, plates, key chains, golf balls, USB Flash Drives, other promotional items) in a jig. The inks are UV cured giving them immediate drying time but also longevity of image vibrancy before fading is seen by the naked eye. The catch is these are NOT cheap printers.
