Area is unrecognizable to me compared to when I was there last in the 70's (71-72) when I was 9 or 10. Was around Arrowhead and Crestline more, but loved the whole mountain experience. Hope you get a whole lot of snow to keep it as green as possible for the Spring.

I still have memories of going to the A & W Root Beer stand near Lake Gregory with my dad and sucking down frosty cold mug root beers. Guessing that place is gone. It's a childhood thing I'll never forget. But still a mountain & lakes person. Would be nice if you could get half the snow the Sierra's are getting. The area is too memorable to be neglected. i learn to ski at big bear in the 60ties--the winters where way more harsh,very cold,massive snow--kinda of like mammoth now --ice skating on big bear lake is a great memory--freakin ice was 3 foot thick!!! nobody had big time ski clothes--long johns under levis--seems nutty now--and those skinny down hill skis!! way different than the shape skis of today--i loved big bear,wrightwood,all of them--they seem so much more winter than today--grew up in altadena and we even got some snow back in the day...
My friend, my uncle, who works for JPL lives at the top of the hill in Altadena. You have to drive through a neighborhood to get to his dirt road that goes up to the top of the hill. I can’t remember the name of the street it’s called rising something I can’t remember, but we always go there and he has all of these telescopes set up outside and when my family would go up there we would always look at the stars and he would tell us stories about the constellations. I love Altadena, but also for my first 35 years on this earth I went to almost every home football game at UCLA at the Rose Bowl right next to you guys I love that area a lot and that’s a cool story about when you were younger even when I was in my early teens in the early 90s, the snow seemed a lot more up here and we had a house in Lake arrowhead and we would get hammered in Lake arrowhead.

@@dethray1000 trust me I know how you feel about that it’s really rough to come up here on the weekend. It’s really actually horrible to come up here on the weekends. I always suggest that if you guys want to go skiing and snowboarding to come up mid week and try to avoid the crowds but this time of year when we get big snow storms during the week you’re still not gonna get as many people as people think on the weekends yes but during the week when everybody’s working, I’ve had this whole mountain to myself and thank you for being here my friend.
