Hallelujah! I did it. Even though I’m a handicapped person with limited strength in my hands, I was able to take out the chip, It was actually not that hard. I was already stressing out by just watching another video in which the person made it so hard. But thank *Jesus Christ,* that your video, among a few others, made this quite simple. *God* bless you and your family family sir.
My sister's only key broke like this today. She's headed back to KY from MD tomorrow so we're getting the $300 key from the only shop that has one (35 miles away in VA). But I'll repair her old one and send it to her so she has a spare. Thanks for the key tips !!
Worked perfectly!!! Had to do a little surgery on the broken FOB but other than that it went pretty smoothly. Just use a SHARP exato knife and take out the entire chip housing!!
My 08 Accord oem key internals are different. The key doesn't have that big of an anchor at the end. Also, the chip is integrated on to the button motherboard
the key blade is molded into the plastic housing. I suppose you could cut the new key blade out and put the old blade in it's place and glue everything back together. But it was easier for me to get the new blade cut
I dont have a chip beside the immobilizer jus shell and mobilizer will it still crank my car as of now im only getting the green key flashing 04 honda accord. i dont believe i have the master key
I think my 08 Civic EX is the same way. I could not find an immobilizer chip glued or affixed to the plastic housing. I think my chip is somewhere inside the fab itself.
That piece of shit fob broke only I found the shell nothing to work with! Then the replacement key was also missing the fob! So I tried to turn car on and wouldn’t stay on!!!! So upset!
If you only have the key blade, you can get a replacement key online and get it cut to work. BUT, without a chip to transfer into the new shell your car won't start. There are devices you can buy online to program the car to accept the new chip in the key you buy, but it's kind of pricey and a bit of a job to program it.

I found a free ‘07 accord been sitting a year “tranny problem “. Ok No start Put jumper to battery and alarm goes off Tested battery good And now the key fell apart 🤔
Hi I know u mentioned merrits / ace hardware which I know one in la Puente CA do u happen to live in that area to maybe give me the number to your lock smith guy??
Did not you think if you had problems getting out the security chip other people would too? But you decided to take yours out off the camera. 😂😂 What a useless video!!
His plastic is broken though. Like, it looks like plastic is supposed to go around the key. If you look you can see a bit of the plastic. My sister's key is like this, plastic holding the key is damaged. It looks like some replacements on EBAY/Amazon have the key blade mounted in that can't be removed (ie no screw on the key part). Even if I got her an OEM key I don't think the old blade will mount on because don't have that plastic surround for the key.

Good video- my 12 civic exl chip was in the keyless entry module, it was not separate on the side of the case. Took me 30 minutes to figure it out lol
This is silly. Why wouldn't you just swap the whole key part into the new shell instead of having to get a key cut? This kinda makes no sense
😂exactly what I was thinking
Why don't you use the same original key?
Thank you so much, I have my fix and was able to use the same key, greate video, just purchase a new case on ebay and place the chip
Worked perfectly!!! Had to do a little surgery on the broken FOB but other than that it went pretty smoothly. Just use a SHARP exato knife and take out the entire chip housing!!
This was very I mean very helpful because I lost some of my key fob.
This just happen to me on a delivery ugh. That god for this video. Im doing this when i get home.
Thanks! Just wish you had told us how you got the chip out because I had the same problem and didn't know how to get it out.
Nothing fancy, I just used a small flat tip screw driver and pried the chip out of the old case
It would be really helpful to have seen how you got the chip out of the case without damaging it. That's an important step and you did it off camera.
He used a sawzall with a semi blade pulse a hammer and pry bar to open it
@@patricklucas8008 Wow, funny.
@@patricklucas8008 😂😂😂
Did you make how to program it? And ty for the info how to do that.
This happened to my key today 😭 thanks for the info!
No bull just the facts. THANK YOU!!!
Holding you get the broken key out of the ignition?
Would a lose key like that cause the car hesitant to start?

So you just bought a new one... U DIDNT FIX IY
But other people can he didn’t fix his because it was glued together
Replacing it is fixing the problem
Not understanding why have to get locksmith to cut key
Link for new housing?
Hi, please put a link to that same replacement as not all of the ones on eBay show both sides and I want it to have the Honda logo.
Exactly!
Does this work for a 2012 Acura TSX flip key?
Why can’t I use the same key instead of getting a new one cut?

Did you have to cut it or you used the old one and glued it like they said?
So every key have a chip right?
You can also use a piece of paper fold insert so doesnt move
I dont have a chip beside the immobilizer jus shell and mobilizer will it still crank my car as of now im only getting the green key flashing 04 honda accord. i dont believe i have the master key

What to do if I lost the guts?
If my chip is working do i need to reprogram it once i switch to a new fob ?
Can you please share the contact of your locksmith
What if I don’t have the chip nor the case just the cut out of the key ? Can I still get one online and just get a cut out ?

what a disgrace. Whoever designed this key should be flayed alive and left to be eaten by ants. And I mean that.

U dont even need to cut a new key. Just throw the old key into a new shell
Total fail - why didn't u take the chip out on camera? 😭
It's a shame. Honda should have replaced these for free. Dumb engineering SMH
Thanks man.
Why everybody alway bring to locksmiths why not Honda dealer. $10 to have it cut at Honda dealer at my area.
Some dealerships are different, sounds like yours is pretty understanding. Some dealerships won't even cut keys that they didn't directly sell to you.
You are correct. I have 3 Honda dealer at my area. They are charge different price.

Any guys want to help me out with this?
You can just screw in your old key lol
No need to cute that one
How?
It's mounted in the plastic. You unscrew the key and it stays in the plastic piece.
