The XTOOL M1 is a nice starter laser. It also has a camera. That's what I have with my Glowforge Pro. Although I love my Glowforge I have I am contemplating purchasing the P2 because it seems to have everything the Glowforge has and XTOOl's software great and it's included with your laser. Great review. It the price comes down on the P2 it may be too hard to rest the temptation. As much I like my Glowforge Pro I'd consider selling it because I don't have a use for that many lasers.

Hello, Yeah...the M1 looks nice with the camera setup. That is actually the only xTool I haven't used. I figured the P2 is all I would ever use, but I have found myself using the F1 a lot as well for engraving. xTool has really made some great machines and the software to go with it... I can see why you would want to switch from the Glowforge platform.

Just been watching your video's and the 1 thing no one talks about is the smell you get with open machines while cutting or engraving, even had a extractor and pipe going outside . Does the S1 leave a burning smell when you open the lid .. thanks

Hello, in my experience, there is still a smell when cutting wood or acrylic...even with a closed machine. It is a lot better than the opened machines, but it is something to be aware of. I have my laser cutters in my garage, so it really isn't a big deal for me with the smell.

Which machine would you recommend for doing mainly engraving on tumblers and fine details?

Hello, I tried to respond earlier, but I don't think it was saved. The S1 20 watt machine would be the perfect tumbler machine.

Hi Chad, great information and thank you. Looking to purchase to do primarily jewelry engraving and customization. What would you be missing if you went with the F1 vs the P2 or the dual bundle? Thanks

Hello! If you went with the 2 machine bundle, you wouldn't be missing anything. That really is the ultimate package. If you can only get one machine, and were just looking to engrave jewelry, I would recommend the F1. Does a great job engraving and is supper fast at doing it. Good luck!

Hi Claud, congratulations for the video...I would be interested in the P2...but working from home in an apartment where I can't get outside the fumes I wouldn't really know how to do it. I have seen many videos with P2 connected to the purifier, everything seems beautiful but then in the comments you read about people who have done it but if you don't have an outdoor outlet even the purifier is not perfect especially if you cut wood and acrylic and therefore I am disappointed and I don't know who to believe. Have you tried it in a closed environment? What do you think? Another option I was considering was to get p2 + xtool 6-inch 410 cfm inline duct fan + put the purifier at the end... do you think you can make all these connections in sequence? And above all, would they be effective in completely eliminating fumes? I haven't found anyone talking about it. I have a crazy desire to buy P2 but I'm afraid that at home it would be a big disappointment. Thank you very much for your kind reply

Hello, I think if you got the P2 you would need it in a room with a window even hooked up to a purifier. I have mine set up in my garage with a good air extraction setup and I still get a bit of smell when I am doing any type of cutting. I think a machine like this, really needs a window to get those fumes out of the living space!

Thank you so much for your kind reply! Should we put an external fan immediately after P2 and then the purifier before reaching the window, the purifier first? I apologize in advance if my questions are stupid but I'm a beginner, thanks again

I have mine in the garage as well and I can kinda smell what I’m cutting even with the purifier at full speed. It’s not bad or strong but still lightly present.

Hello, the S1 does a great job on tumblers. If they are mainly what you do, you could get the 20 watt version and you would be good to go!
