- After being named last year as New Balance Made In USA's Creative Director, Teddy Santis (of Aime Leon Dore) dropped his first collection late last month. Today I'm reviewing the underrated 990 V1 in the "Marblehead / Incense" colourway. Let me know what you think of these and if you grabbed a pair of them too!

They look so clean with those wool trousers. Love this silhouette
V1’s are my pick simply for versatility of the silhouette, easier to work into most fits than a more technical model like the V3
Levi's 511's and a looser fitting t-shirt/graphic tee are an easy fit for v3-v5 IMO.

I currently have 574. My true size is 44 but i had to swap them for 44,5 and my toe is still too close to the front so i would want 45.. But this one would be more true to size? Whats your opinion
574 fits more snug than 990 V1 in my opinion
I picked these up a few weeks back. A rookie move (I know), but a small amount of water managed to spill on them and seem to live on the sneaker as a permanent reminder. Any recommendations for cleaning the suede on the V1s?
Have you tried using a suede brush? Usually that works for water

as you go from V1 to V3, i find you get more comfort in the shoe but it is slightly (ever so) slightly less versatile in terms of silhouette with casual wear. The V3 looks more like a running shoe but that can be the look you're going for. Reference: Have a few V2s, a V3, and 992s etc.

All we wanna know is the back portion of the interior of the shoe shattered back board quality? Is SBB quality no longer a thing? LOL
It’s the weak point of the shoe, it’s a very thin fake leather. The rest of the materials are A+ though.
Those V2s look pretty freekin nice to me as I dont usually like the V2s. I dont favour the V3s, I dont like that plastic looking N logo I much prefer the V1s.
