Do you think, adding insults will educate them? I hope you get my point. If this video continues insults and belittling each country, I would request African Tigress to hide this video instead. By the way, my apologies to African people for what my Kababayan (countrymen) views about your country and continent. Most of them don't distinguished Africa as a Continent but as a county. History and geography fails big time at this generation
im a filipino but i love watching african vloger. i love how simple life in kenya specificaly. i love quiet and simple life. planting corn and other vegies. and the air is not polluted.
Very true but also African have bigger cities with bad pollution, get a broader view of africa both good and bad and through away the shallow hollywood projection of Africa.
Africa itself is a vast and beautiful continent with a diversity of talented people and impressive cultures. You have rich resources of rare minerals like diamonds, gold, titanium, copper and dysprosium, and a very rare gemstone called tanzanite. Your whole continent could be the richest in the world if only the African governments has transparency, unity, accountability, a passion for good governance and rule of law. We Filipinos share the same fate with you when we were colonized by Europeans. Our ancestral backgrounds are also came from tribal groups.
Yes just like Asia countries many leaders in Africa are more corrupt, there countries are doing well and others not, there are cities in Africa that are more developed than cities in the Philippine and with less poverty
You are right if only Africans can better use the natural resources they have than selling them to Europe and other developed nations, we would be in a better place
I see the Philippines having the same problem as Africa. When you see the environment from the footage, you can tell how people are struggling but that does mean everyone is struggling. The media should do more than one side representation of a people.
You're missing the fact that Africans don't control their own resources the west does, so talking about good governance and the rule of law is ludicrous because the criminal governments and corporations of the west control Africa the leaders are just, they puppets. Any leader that has stepped up and done right by the people are subject to regime change, assassination, sanctions or foreign intervention.
Those Filipinos youve interviewed have less knowledge about Africa, me im Filipino, I work here in Saudi, but I see lot of Africans here, they are very nice people, Africans have similar to Filipinos culture, very family oriented

Kababayan 😀 what you said is right...me too I was in Saudi and Qatar too. There are many of us Africans and Filipinos as well. I have many Filipino friends in Qatar and here in the US too
I think the response for your interview is balanced. Some people have a clue and some don't. If you can ask many Africans about Fillippine they might not have any idea. Some of us studied geography at school then it becames easy to know all this countries. Good content. I'm here to learn about this beautiful nation. From South Africa 🇿🇦
I have to agree with you on geography and social studies we learn about the globe (map) in elementary school you had a puzzle map and had to place the right peace in the right location on the globe that was in 1967s for me.
If you ask Japanese or Koreans who have not been to the Philippines. They will say the same thing that Philippines is dangerous and a lot of poor people with no food. Kenya & Philippines are the same. They are both developing nations.
@@chriswamahiu8751 Let put things in perceptive, you are equating Philippines a country of 100m people to Africa continent of 55 countries with 1.6 billion people. African Tigress was not asking Philippines about one country in Africa, but about anything they know about the whole continent. The equivalent would somebody asking me as a Kenyan if I know anything about Asia. Majority of them did not know or gave generic answers, “there nice people”, “poverty”, “poor”, “animals”. Kenya, or Ghana or Gabon, or Senegal, Nigeria, South Africa and many other Africa countries are just google or UA-cam away. Just spent 15 minutes of your time and come back for health debates. Your government should do more to educate citizen about Africa. An average Kenyan knows where the Philippines is located, may know something about Manila, Ferdinand Marcos and his wife Milda and her shoe wardrobe, or iron lady Aquino and of course the Philippines Trump Duterte. Equally they may know something about Taiwan, Indonesia, China Bhutan and many other countries in far East Asia. The ignorance displayed here is beyond approach. But many seem to be very nice uninformed people who have bought into Eurocentric projection of Africa as backward place, I am sure if you ask them about North america and Europe they know every tiny country and their dream is to travel to those countries in the west
This is saddening. It shows the level of English proficiency an average Filipino has plus our knowledge of countries of the world. I love watching african vloggers here in the Philippines thus made me curious about their countries and searched even a little information about them . These filipinos atleast once in a while need to watch documentaries and vlogs about your people . Thank you AT for raising awareness. To be honest , learning other cultures and other countries business is the least of the worries of us average Filipinos.
Filipinos know South Africa, Morocco and Egypt as the three countries that are only developed in Africa. They viewed rest vast of Africa as tribal, poor and uneducated. That's how they viewed it just the same with the other prats of the world view Africa.
@carlomartinez2571 Home for and us just google away, check developed index of these countries and come back to repeat what you said, Algeria, Mauritius Kenya, Botswana Ivory Coast. The worst poverty have ever seen was in Manila slums people housing between railway lines and that did not did not reduce my perception of the country
Perfect example of why people need to get outside of their little bubbles, i honestly didn't think in the age of the internet people would know so little about such a large place, I'm taken aback.
I'm Filipino if i were to be asked I will say African countries are beautiful only that just like Philippines there is so much corruption in their countries that's why this blessed countries are lagging in progress and just like Filipinos African people is blessed with so much talent like georgous voices their dance moves is so amazing.they excel also in sports, modelling and acting that's why so many of them is Hollywood superstars. But becoz of their skin color they are being discriminated but for me they are one of the most beautiful people in the planet.and plus also intelligent people.
It was interesting to hear Africa described a a poor “ country” as if the Filipinos are known for their riches. The video like so many other videos show just how much people around the world know about geography and various cultures even give the age of technology.

The most known african countries in the Philippines are South Africa, nigeria, ghana and kenya because of our love for beauty pageant. They are know here as a competitive and very friendly people.
Beauty of Africa is all African nations .south Africa Nigeria Kenya Egypt Morocco Ghana are our power houses .and we are proud of them (us) leave that little competition among Africans on such platforms when Africans are looked down upon . Africa unite (bob Marley)
You can't hate them for the image of Africa they see on the media. 50yrs after independence, our people still die of hunger. Rather than demand that people say good things about the continent, how about changing our nations for the better.
You think people do not die of hunger in other countries, it about the balance, the truth that include the good and the bad. To sweep the whole continent of 1.6 trillion by one brush is ignorance
Your family are dying of hunger and not Africans. Go to some of this south east Asians to see hunger especially Myanmar. Seriously Philippines needs to go to school.
On Kenya, this is the food situation... The number of people in urgent need of food assistance has risen five-fold, from 739,000 in August 2020 to 3.5 million in June 2022. It is projected to rise to 4.4 million between October and December 2022, with a record 1.2 million people facing emergency levels of food scarcity. Given that Kenya is seen as the success story in East & Central Africa, the situation in the region must be dire. Africa's cult of positive thinking does not want to think.

Hello African Tigress, watching you from Columbus, Ohio -USA. I’m glad you chose Philippines to explore. I hope you like it and bring good memories. I love my African friends mostly from West Africa. I like how they are open and respect other people’s beliefs. I have met a lot of Africans from all over the Continent. They all seem intelligent. I know this is a generalization but from my observation of some Somalians/Djouboti people they seem mad a lot. BUT the rest of Africans are so cool, full of life!
This was such a revealing vlog on how so many people in the Philippines know so little about Africa. But I should not be surprised since many people in the Caribbean do not know much about Africa or the Philippines also. In like manner a lot of Africans do not even know that Trinidad or St Lucia or Barbados are islands in the Caribbean. This tells us that people generally are more apt to be familiar with their immediate space relative to their need to survive and that's it. I think there is hope though because youtubers are now doing a fine job of bringing different countries, cultures and peoples into focus for the world to see and become familiar with.
It's because these people of these countries are only interested to the economically developed countries and they do not like to or scared of travelling to some travel black territories.
They are the product of media negativity. If the media have been fully balancing their reporting of both the bad, good, and ugly of Africa to some extent, their knowledge would have been better than thinking all African children are hungry. The same applies to Africa with little or no knowledge about other continents.
Speak for yourself when you say many people on the Caribbean. The Caribbean people are not Africans so they do not learn about a history that is not theirs. But Africa is my ancestral land so we know where we from and the tribes we were taken from. Barbados must know about Africa because most of them are African descent, although they have indigenous people there.
On my experience of knowing about Africans from the mainstream media and UA-cam so negative…but now it has changed already after knowing Dee Mwango , Marwa, Cherono, African Tigress..Thanks for showing other side of Africa ..
Thanks AT for this interview. All people in the world they think we are poor. We are very rich in minerals, the only problem was colonialism that affected our economy that was stolen through slavery. Man Family. SA

They said they watch utube African vloggers. Watch it again. They're not educated about Africa in school, so to do videos like this, she needs to educate herself first about the Philippines.
It's the same that other countries form their opinion of the Philippines from the biased media. I'm pretty sure that the Philippines is always portrayed as poor and dangerous by the international media. I think the average Africans also think that the Philippines is dangerous, dirty and poor.
I'm not, that is how most of the world view Africa and Africans using main stream media. It's the same thing in Australia 🇦🇺. Most people only know negative associations about black people. The most positive they ever say is that blacks make "good entertainers" ie musicians and sportsmen.

Great post watching from Australia! My first time comment but not first time watching your great content after Dee Mwango, Rebecca Naliaka, Iam Cherono, Iam Marwa, Davy Jnr, Uncle Mo from Kenya, etc UA-cam's with great authentic African culture content. I am sure if AT had asked them about USA, Spain, German, UK, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates and Hong Kong she would have gotten a different answer. The desire by the Philippines youth to migrate to western or rich middle East countries' is deeply ingrained in their psychic and the country's social, economic and cultural climate that there is no room of learning about Africa. I think countries like the Philippines in Asia and Nigeria in Africa will be better of if they adapt inward looking, stay home and build your country.
This interview showed that many Asian nations have poor information regarding Africa.. and it is not in ordinary news, so common folks who never travels doesnt know about it... It is time for Africans vbloggers like you to spread awareness of its existence, correct misinformation and show that there are other sides of Africa they must know about.
They said they watched utube of African vloggers watch the video again. They watch Africa black people on utube showing their lives. What was wrong with the video the host doesn't understand that these people doesn't speak or understand English well so she needs to educate herself and get an enterpreter. Filipinos don't explain themselves well in English. You can't do a video like this without knowing Filipinos well and understand them well.
And yes, you are correct. She should have said, but Filipinos are poor too, but she didn't because her only desire is to gain views and subscribers instead of defending Africa and its people and educating them the truth. She had a chance to correct them, and she didn't.

I wonder why Africans or Black people go around the world and ask people what they think about us? No disrespect. Do people come around us and ask us what we think about them? It's so interesting to me to see this.
I'm surprised at their responses. I was born in the Philippines and we have geography classes taught in all levels of education, but because I attended a private school and maybe the quality of education was different. Kenya, Botswana, Ethiopia, Somalia, Chad, Nigeria, Niger...then you have North Africa with Egypt, Libya, Morocco, Tunisia, etc...most Filipinos are very knowledgeable of geography, but this one interview says otherwise. Africa is a continent just like Asia. We have geography class and knowing at least countries in 7 continents. It's part of our education.
Sorry but most Filipinos are quite busy not reviewing their history subjects but busy with the daily chores and tending the rise of electrict bills, gasoline, foods and other needs.

Although admittedly, may have woes with governance and inequality, however, the PH is in a far superior economic and geopolitcal position after all, compared to most African states, it's the 38th largest economy after all. Growing at the same pace with countries such as Vietnam, Indonesia, and other Southeast asian nations. South Africa, Eqypt, and Nigeria may surpass a bit in terms of GDP, but the gap is getting narrower fast, especially if PH's growing at a rate of 6% Growth rate, compared to South Afrca's 4%, and Nigeria's 3%.
Africa i love this continent so much,in Nigeria i have lot’s of good friends and also in Kenya kind people from there men and women, just love Africans so sweet and friendly❤
I think I blame the education systems . In Africa , by the time most kids finish primary school, we know most countries of the world. Yet Africa is not taught to the outside world. Probably I also blame our media, we don't market ourselves enough. Tv shows in Africa are basically philipino, Spanish or American. We have alot to do too
Most of these people it seems don't have any knowledge about geography, could be a subject they don't learn from school. The tv they watch gives them negative view about Africa. The lady is talking about "Jollof rice" which is a national dish in Senegal, we in the Gambia call it "Benachin" It's cook with lamb, cow, chicken or fish. All ingredients are put in a cooking 🍲, added tomato paste or without. When finished one can bite his or her finger. It's a daily dish in Senegal, Ghanian and Nigerians compete each other about who cook the best. The original home is in Senegambia.

*I'm a Filipino*, and after reading the comments many of which are critical of both sides, I would want to point out that not all Filipinos are knowledgeable about Africa, and others don't even recognize the continent as such. The lack of understanding and unfavorable Western stereotypes about Africa are the issues with this. Not just in the Philippines, but in some other countries as well, there is ignorance about Africa, and a lot of people accept the stories in the films about how an African lives with little to no access to basic necessities. It's depressing to see these myths continue because they feed preconceptions and create a false perception of the African continent. The destruction of these misconceptions relies heavily on exposure and education.
the people u interviewed was quite not aware with other countries african and Philippines had the same fate during western colonization filipino brown race and black are both under one umbrella we are not white, some filipino as well are still experiencing so much poverty due to corruption, so i hope u guys feel welcome and enjoy staying here. my pov of africans whenever i met africans passing by i honestly admire and attracted to some of african for being tall and good body physique i literally find some of them really hot and good looking.
People's perception of any country, or anything for that matter, depends on how it is depicted in analog, digital, print and social media. You can twist and manipulate the narrative to achieve the outcome/results that will solicit the desired response. Most people have not even physically been in the topic country to form their opinion, it is all based on what they see and hear from other sources.

most filipinos really don't know much about Africa because they became aware of the culture that admires Hollywood movies and later on Chinese movies starring Jackie Chan, Latin classics like Marimar and Korean tv series. Italian fashions, european foods etc... often what comes to the mind of a common filipino when Africa is mentioned is, "African safari", Tarzan, wild life and of course black Africans.

I feel embarrassed with the answers of my co- Filipinos . During my school days we learned about continents in world history and in geography subjects too I don’t know why they can’t even mention a name of a country in Africa, most Filipinos like to watch beauty pageant and yet they can’t remember any country mentioned nor maybe they don’t really know anything about geography, poor educational background then. I wonder what are they learning now.
Hey its bec Africa is not represented well unlike US, japan, South Korea and other famous Europian countries like Paris, Switzerland etc... Well that goes true about Asia in Africa... They (common folks) think all Asians are Chinese..
I am not offended at all as an African. These people need accurate education about Africa from the African perspective. All these misconceptions exist thanks to western Media.

Africa as far as I know is rich in culture and it's natural resources has been exploited by the west and also its own government, Africa needs a leader that's more concerned for it's people and not for power.
Is it healthy for Africans to be too concerned with what Filipinos think about them when Jesus loves Africans and has died for them? What God feels about you matters more than what people think. Also love yourselves. I seen other videos similar to this about what other races think about blacks or if a Japanese, Filipino, or Korean woman like black guys etc... I like what one guy wrote in the comments of another UA-cam video; he said that he doesn't really see other ethnic groups doing videos like that; why does it seem like blacks are so concerned about peoples approval or opinion about our ethnicities? Every single human is unique and there is no person on earth exactly like you; God created diversity; so even the Filipinos in this video can't represent the way all Filipinos think. For all the opinions shared here; there are other Filipinos with opposite opinions.
How does this content help us as black people? Who cares what they think of us! Please focus on uplifting content as those people that they are describing exist in the Phillipines too.
It's also good to have a benchmarking on how other nationalities perceive the African people. At least you have an idea if how they see the Africans is the same as how the Africans see themselves. Besides, it seems that you didn't watch the video. The overwhelming majority who have some awareness of Africa are very positive on how they think of Africans.

Some positive feedback: it is great what you are doing but from what you have shown you didn’t do anything to promote Africa / Africans. Many of them said they didn’t know any countries and you didn’t educate them, you said thank you and let them walk off. Again when they thought it was poor and children didn’t have enough to eat, it would have been good if you could use this to educate them, yes there may be poverty but there is also the other side, beautiful houses, malls and community.
This is what I told them you are the descendants of the so-called Alfro Philipnos the indigenous original people up in the mountains.

I love my African friends mostly from West Africa. I like how they are open and respect other people’s beliefs. I have met a lot of Africans from all over the Continent. They all seem intelligent. I know this is a generalization but from my observation of some Somalians/Djouboti people they seem mad
a lot.
It's because the media is full of the negative side rather than the positive
The western media is full of racist stereotypes showing only negative things about Africa.

The destruction of these misconceptions relies heavily on exposure and education.

is only now that things are chenging otherwise the Big Satan deviders were the only people carrying the macrophones around the world exigerating and lieng deceiving underating some people to attract their interest around the world
The Philippines education system includes 7 continent of the world Africa is not just a country but composed of defferent nation it just Filipinos have no interest to learn about Africa as them what other nation in Africa they cannot answer because you are far us even our own neighbour like Indonesia Malaysia Korea portrays as poor dirty dangerous and so on when infact we are very near to each other how much more Africa?mis inform powerful media outlet is also play the big rule how the nation they want to portray to other nation .
Africa has similarities like Asia
We are almost one nature, normality of culture, truth and geographical environment
Haha in no way Africa or Africans can't get even close to Asia people and Asia countries
@@danieschoeman9935 of course Africa and Asians don't look alike (though we have some Africans that look like Asians, the Khoisans who are Nelson Mandela's ancestors. If you look at him, he looks like Asians) They both have tropical and humid nature that is similar, culturaly also, their concept is the same. The only part of Asia that is not like Africa is The Koreas, China and Japan etc, those snowy Asian countries. Now try asking Africans if they know Philippines.
For me I think they're judging Africa according to what the media showed to them.

Please focus on uplifting content as those people that they are describing exist in the Phillipines too.
my content is consumed by everyone not just black people
@@AFRICANTIGRESS I am sure majority is black? But you are missing the point I am making
Leaf What do you want them to do? Lie about the African continent being the richest in the world even richer than the arab gulf and European countries lol you sound bitter about hearing the truth
@@underratedgod6899 Africa is both rich and poor though. The richest and the poorest. No lie in both cases. Africa is also the most discredited and the most misunderstood.
Every country has poor people in it. Same here in New Zealand too.
I've been in Philippines twice that's when I was a sailor. The poverty I saw there and homelessness isn't in Africa on that percentage. But the madia is to be blamed. Philippines are good people and kind
I think in 2023 current year The poverty rate in the Philippines became low around 7-8% and it’s constantly decreasing, unlike year 2018-2020 the poverty rate was above 10% even more higher, but currently it gradually decreases.
What????
Like most countries the educated middle classes will be more clued up on general foreign affairs with regards to foreign countries….many countries will have an indifferent perception of the Philippines if they haven’t been - ignorance is a bitch.
Maybe you should tell people who knows little about Africa that there are 54 Countries in Africa. Instead of just saying thank you, give them a little info at the end. Also when that gentleman said Usain (Bolt), instead of just saying he is Jamaican, I think you should say he is African by race, but Jamaican by Nationality. Remember African is a continent and every black person around the world are Africans, just like Europeans, Asians etc. Just a suggestion.

It's really bad and hurting to know that this generation failed to know world history and geography. In our generation, we will be failed in our social studies subject if we don't memorize each country in the continent and each capitals.
These young people really good in social media and good at canceling culture. so sad and annoying at the same time.
Will they land to a good paying job if they study english and geography? I don't think so. Ask them about mathematics and anything related to information technology and for sure they will be able to answer the questions confidently and accurately LOL
But ask them about Anime and K-Pop/K-drama they will know it from A-Z.
Very enlightening! Unfortunately if you asked any group of people in the states the same questions, you would get similar answers. The education system is what it is.
This is what the media shows them. But we also have countries in Africa that are more advanced than Philippines and many Asian countries. They should come to South Africa and their perspectives will completely change, especially Economically.
well Philippines devastated by more than 30 typhoons every year we don't have natural resources as much as you have in your continent we are prone to earthquakes we've been colonized more than 300 years our capial city is the 2nd most destroyed city in the world after WW2 yet Philippines is still richer than 90% of african countries in terms of GDP per capita have better infrastructure than 95% of african countries only south africa have better infrastructure than Philippines Botswana, sychelles and other 9 countries have higher per capita than Philippines have lower infrastructure than Philippines

@@gigianderson6849 I beg to differ with you not because I'm from Africa but when we look at any economy there are a number of factors considered for a country to be called is developed.
South Africa is in a Group of Twenty or G20. In this group only countries in the world that have very sound or strong economies are there. China, India, Indonesia, Korea Republic and Japan are the only Asian countries that are in G20. The unmentioned Asian countries are not there and are not even considered as strong economies.
Yes most of African countries are still struggling as you do but as for South Africa, that country is on another Level. Many economies struggled during Covid-19 and collapsed even here in Africa but SA is still standing and doing very well.
It's funny when people say, "I don't know anything about Africa cause I haven't been there." Most of these people are mostly on their phones and can't even look up information lol I learnt about the world from just looking up the news like BBC and Reuters, and just going to Wikipedia and going down the rabbit hole of information. But I guess not everyone is curious to learn about the world around them 😅
I think media feed us wrong information about this continent. Lacking or feeding of fault information from media plus ignorance combined isn't good. Whatever result this content isn't define what real filipinos are.

Africa for me is very big! A lot of countries and majority of these countries are poor governed by corrupt leaders. There are also countries that perform better.
From what I see, it looks like it was a bit unfinished. Tell them why the image of Africa in the media is wrong, show them the slums of the US. Everything you do should be to improve the image of Africa and Africans. I hope this makes sense 🦋
I actually did educate some but I couldn't put everything in one video coz it will be too long and repetitive
Some were in a hurry. However the lady who talked about the children I had a conversation with her after coz she was sitting around
