I skated with him( about 40 guys)at an indoor skatepark in 89 and I realized I wasn't near as good as I thought! He doesn't give himself enough credit for skating street but I'll never forget seeing him run a wall ride off a quarter and pushed his back up against the ceiling an thought I really suck! I never seen anyone at the park even come close to that ceiling.
Man i wanted him to mention how kids today are doing 900s no problem and the power of seeing someone else do something you thought was impossible. It opened up so many people's minds to what is possible and the 900 record has even been broken since then. Amazing podcast, really love these guys

and it started as the McTwist from Mike McGill his older teammate with Powell and Peralta. He was the kid from that team of legends and he definitely took it to another level as he got older.

That's dope though, sometimes upscaling the original game through emulation is a way better experience than playing a remastered version though. Depends on the remaster but playing the original version is better in a lot of cases
Tony is so humble and it's not easy to explain skateboarding to people who have never skated because it is so deep but he does it well. I wish they would show Tony's son Riley his latest part from the Baker video and they would see epic skateboarding from today. Would be fun to see Mike's reaction to it. Still an amazing podcast!

growing up skating was a massive part of my life. made great friends, built confidence, and got great exercise. unfortunately I was paralyzed in an automobile wreck. I miss it every day. 30 now, and dream I’m skating at least 4 to 7 times a month. Tony blew the scene up and I'm so thankful. also couldn’t be a nicer guy. I know firsthand. Skating usually changes people for the remainder of their life. Definitely mentally. Although it’s considered a sport that can be competitive, it’s roots are deeply embedded within art and music culture.
Mike Tyson is one the few people I think should actually have a podcast. Interviews like this cement my point. He doesn’t just have on people who fit his brand but any and everyone. Seeing these two together is like Bryson & Rihanna. Makes so much sense but who would’ve thought it until it was done. Respect to these legends forever 🙏🏾💯

I remember so many people in San Diego wanted to skate board like him in the late 90s. So many biker crews and skate board crews. Not to mention shows like rocket power being influenced by him. What a legend.
Such a joy watching this. I was skating everyday for years as a kid/teenager. I know the feeling of being picked at, bullied, it was rough. I had to fight a lot. So both these legends were my idols, my inspiration as young, skating and fighting. I am 46 yrs old now, and even though times was rough back then, I miss it! Maybe I should get a board and start skating again. This time there will be no fighting ^_^

The world is ready for a Tony Hawk documentary. This documentary needs to happen. We have "dogtown and z boyz", "bones brigade"," the man that souled the world". First 2 are great but much older in history. The latter is basically the time in which street skateboarding morphed into basically what it is today. We NEED one from a vert perspective and theres nobody better to revolve it around than Tony. Yes, many many other influential vert skaters of the time. Danny Way as an example i feel should have his own also. Dudes a absolute BEAST! Mike Vallely also, his nine club episode is amazing and in all honesty he is the epitome of core street skateboarding, but we all know a Tony Hawk doc is something that would absolutely get major attention and make millions from a financial standpoint. The world is ready for it and Tony is in a part in his life where it absolutely makes sense. Im from the THPS generation of skateboarders and am forever grateful for this man, his accolades and contributions to our lifestyle. We really couldn't have a better spokesperson for our passion.

Funniest thing. I met some friends in Oceanside after taking the surf liner down there. We went to Johnny Mananas and standing right in front of me was Tony Hawk. I couldn’t and didn’t believe it at first but it was definitely him. I am 37 and was about 16 at the time. I couldn’t believe it was him and was to shy at the time to say anything. A rare moment in history I will never forget. I have fallowed you ever since I can remember. Great to see to legends of sports chopping it up today. Still today this day I wish I would have said something but part of me was so awe inspired and another was doubtful that I was actually next to Tony Hawk.
I was there in 99 in San Francisco that day. Afterwards all the bmxers, skaters and bladers all hit the streets of sf for the craziest session I've ever been a part of

The first major sporting events I ever saw was Mike knocking out Berbick. The next year I got a Hawk board with the skull on the bottom. This was cool seeing two guys who have kind of inspired me my whole life chilling together.
I love that Mike is more worried about being involved in peoples lives than worrying about what they do or what they can do for him. You remind me of my father Mike. when you appreciate "being with the real thing"

People in the south west of England get around still using skate board's in the city and countyside, I'm not a skater but me and the brother did go on them a few times,played his first games to,he was and still is the face of skating legend.

The Legend Tony Hawk!!! 💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾 This is Great. I love skateboarding the X games were crazy back in the day. Glad they mentioned Christian Hosoi. He was a beast. Go check his documentary when u get a chance. Great redemption story. They were always going back n forth and always respected each other no jealousy at least from what I saw. Glad to see Tony still 🛹. I remember playing his video game 🔥🔥
