I've got Jakes on the 8v71 in my K123 Kenworth, I've found there's two types of people who don't like them 1. people who live near truck routes 2. jealous bastards who's trucks don't have them so they go on about how you're going to wear your cams out using them 😂

Can you show more about the system? The internal parts I am very interested in the exhaust bridge that you were talking about.

I know they use the injection lobe on mechanical unit engines for the jake and now learned the common rails have their own lobe for jake on the cam. But what I'd really like to know is how does the 3406 mechanical, mack mechanical engines etc work since they have a injector nozzle that pops and the injection pump itself has the injection cam lobes? Did they have a jake brake cam lobe on them motors cams too back then? I've been in a few different 855 Cummins but I've never had to go in a 3406 mechanical truck engine with Jake's usually my hands are in heavy equipment engines

If you've ever driven one I'm sure you were quick to notice that the jakes do not work well on those engines. Ill use the 3406 mechanical since its what I'm most versed on it. These engine use a master cylinder on the exhaust rocker of a different cylinder to activate the jake slave on the exhaust valve. The oil is routed in the housing to another cylinder. So it doesn't quite get you to tdc but close. Thanks for watching.

@@MatzkeDiesel ahh that's makes perfect sense that they use a different cylinders exhaust stroke for jake on mechanical engine that doesn't have a unit injector. Our lowboy tractor is a 86 359 with a b model and the Jake's are whimpy. My favorite Jake's are a old 855 Cummins they bark
