I’ve gotta say man, your guides have been the most helpful for me while getting into this amazing game! It always seems like you’ve covered everything I may need while never droning on. Thank you, sir! Keep it up!
I think this and the previous video are the most useful. Instead of full builds you are explaining elements of a good build, encouraging creativity of anyone who watches your videos.
Haven't watched the video until the end but 3:58 when I heard this is all about Instictual Warrior, I am so compelled to say that Mad Dog is also a great choice. With 2lvls you get +2BAB, pet progression (all animals choice if taken 1st), +2 to flanking for you and pet. A good synergy to all pet focussed classes. With higher level (and legend path for best progression), Gendarme + Mad Dog combo is potent with Trip pet. A bit surprised since many of your builds are based on pet.
The dips get nicer with mythic feats. You spotted it with unlimited rage, but you missed it with the option for immediately getting the level 20 option of bloodline.
Some prestige class dips that look very powerful at first glance: Dragon Disciple 4 - +4 bonus to str and +2 nat armor Hellknight 1 - smite chaos and order of the godclaw to stack AC, dmg and attack Student of War 2 - very niche but similar to monks where AC uses your int bonus instead of dex Duelist 1 - Ac bonus equal to int if using one handed piercing weapon
My like is with you. Been watching your guides for insights of my own, went from first time Core struggles, to finishing Hard with ease a few times Thank you for your work
Rogue Sylvan Trickster is another way to do what people want from witch. Just for 2 lvls you can get bunch of very useful abilities AND iceplant too. Very useful for DEX focused builds.
I agree Instinctual Warrior dip with Limitless Rage is strong, however a Bloodrager 1 level dip can be equally strong. A Celestial bloodline will give you extra 1D6 damage to evil outsiders (i.e, about 75% of all enemies in the game). Not only that, there are several decent items in the game that are limited to Bloodragers.
Hi I love your guide so much. Your guide is detailed step by step. It helps beginners like me to understand and be able to create powerful characters. Thank you for creating a great guide.
Hi! Great video as always! Couple of additional tips I have noticed: - the first level of Cavalier and Magus/Arcane Rider give 2 pet levels(!) (which is the reason why your Regil build ends up with 19lvl pet with 14lvls of Gendarme), no other class/archetype does this, I tried 😄 - if you take 1lvl of Oracle, take Enlightened Philosopher - you'll get Skill focus Knowledge World for free - useful if you plan on going Loremaster later - if you take 1lvl of Oracle, note that the Oracle curse will gain 1 lvl per 2 non-oracle levels and that includes mythic levels! - elemental arcana from Elemental Bloodlines also converts your elemental spells to given type - the description is really bad and does not indicate it at all but it works, so Sorcerer/Crossblooded dip can actually do the same thing as Wizard/Elemental Specialist plus something else
I have heard the elemental substitution abilities are bugged. Changing the damage type from "fire" to "cold" is "cosmetic". If you change a fireball to "cold", your combat tracker will list the damage type as "cold", but enemies with fire resistance will still resist the damage. Have you done any testing to see if this bug was addressed?
Some prestige class dips can also be OP in some ways: Loremaster for example can get access to Improved Improved Critical, Improved Improved Improved Critical and Improved Improved Improved Critical Improved through Combat Secret and Rogue Secret -> Combat Trick even without being Trickster and having "Perception 2" feat. Also, Loremaster can give you Mage Armor to spellcasters that lack it, allowing you to keep your spell caster progression if you factor in Archmage Armor into your build without having to rely on potions. Another interesting prestige class dip is Dragon Disciple until including Level 4 for some AC and Strength.
I wanted to share that arcane bloodline bloodrager can, in demon path, activate both haste and dissplacement. Since both bloodrage and demonic rage count as a rage effect. Bloodrage>Dissplacement>demon rage>haste>demonic charge> Cleave. Its super fun to do. And if the enemies spotted another character first they will run torwards him, triggering AoO.
If you’re a dc caster, you can pick Undead and Serpentine bloodlines to surpass undead and animal immunities to mind-affecting spells(Weird, Overwhelming presence etc..)
I know this is a bit late, but Thug is also a good dip for a charisma dazzling display focussed character. As you get a lot of bonuses at level 1 to all intimidate checks which includes Dazzling Display. With just 1 level you can apply a heap of status ailments to enemies for almost no cost.
Thanks, I had been messing around respeccing characters to see what might be interesting for multiclassing. This saves a lot of time. I have a good working knowledge of D&D 3.5 but Pathfinder WOTR has a LOT of information to process.
great video as always. i will say, rogues are usually worth dipping for 4 levels. as well as weapon finesse (on most), you can get evasion, uncanny dodge, 2d6 sneak attack and two talent feats, which is a bargain as far as i’m concerned.
I love games that have interesting systems I can learn. I've been enjoying taking the cRPGBro WotR course! I'd be interested in some broad videos on what the differences WotR and Kingmaker meta game are. Or, maybe some Kingmaker guides on the classes in the mod, in the future.
Something you hypothesized in the video was that Monk multiclassing has been popular for optimization since the 3rd edition. In reality, it wasn't! The reason is that in the editions of D&D that are like PF you actually had a penalty to gained experience if your classes were more than 1 level apart. Monk was unpopular because not only was it not very good, it made actually good classes worse by requiring your levels to be so close together.
But then you could be Human for any Favored Class 😃 Thus Humans OP so you could be like 19 Druid 1 Monk and have no multi penalty and enjoy the AC cheese!
@cRPG Bro the only downside there is leaving you facing penalties for any prestige class you wish to take. I'm glad they dropped xp penalties, that's for sure.
Thanks for the guides man. I've been enjoying the companion guides a lot. Just last night my Regill Gendarme and Daeran on a wolf 2 shot the Balor in front of the Drezen citadel. I thought my computer had frozen, but it was actually because these 2 each did a charge and killed him so fast that my other characters didn't get to act. I don't know how the damage was so high, but you've set me up to love Regill on his pony.
It's why I say Pets combined with high crits and Outflank are so OP! Nothing like the meat cleaver Attacks of Opportunity to show demons who's the real boss of the Worldwound 😁
Here's a fun one. Pick crossblood sorcerer, pick red dragon and gold dragon. Each gives a stacking fire damage bonus. Mythic ability extra bloodline pick brass dragon. That gives yet another stacking bonus to fire damage. You'll now deal an additional 3 fire damage per dice rolled on all fire spells. Scorching/hellfire ray hits so much harder now.
If you are multiclassing for a charisma based tank, 2 levels of paladin adds charisma to saves without BAB loss, and I cannot recall the name of the archetype offhand, but one of them gives studied target rank 1. If you have sneak attack due to have levels of rogue (debilitating injury, evasion, weapon finesse and finesse training +2d6 sneak attack makes a decent 4 levels for an unarmoured tank), this can be activated reliably. Also, unlike smite evil, it will still function if you cease to be lawful good.
My only issue with Pally CHA bonus is that I usually feels 2 levels is way too much, and Saves are so easy to increase from other boosts. Although it's a bit silly you can get DOUBLE the bonuses by just casting Bestow Grace too like from Seelah. A normal LG char can even get Bestow Grace of the Champion added up too.
Hello and thanks for your work ! I tried many of your builds and it was great fun every single time ! I just would like to know if you are planning to make a gold dragon build cause i can't find any in your playlist thanks !
Thx for another great video! When you mentioned Oracle curses, you didnt talk about wolf-scarred i think. It gives you a free bite attack on level 1 without any penalties, so a good choice for charisma based melee characters
Hi. I think it's worth to a pair of things: First - dip is useful for saving throws. And you can get a lot of them. Second - dip is often useful more then 1 class (for example ranger-2, rogue-4, bloodranger). And the third - is bloodranger itself. It's very powerful dip, up to 6 levels. - Bloodlines (more powerful then sorcerer bloodlines - especially serpent bloodline), works only in rage, but limitless rage have been mentiond. - uncanny dodge && rogue abilities - primalist subclass, which allow you to select 2 barbarian rage abilities on level 4
I just wish the magus spell combat abilities would work with spells from other classes, even if just arcane :( From what I read online it only works with the magus spellbook. I'd really like to play a full spellcaster with spell combat, something like 2lvl magus + wizard + arcane knight for BAB. Unless I'm missing something, I don't think it's possible. PS: The desciption is kinda misleading, for spell combat it says it works with spells from the magus spell LIST, which is different from the actual SPELLBOOK. But it seems even spells that are in the list can't be cast if it's from another classes spellbook
I contemplated doing a sylvan sorcerer with a dip into scaled fist or into oracle nature for the extra charisma AC but I’m not really a melee character so I’m not sure.
2 Sensei for an ECC or Empyreal let’s you use Wis for AC and to attack. Thug for 1-4 levels gives you frightening, brutal beating, evasion, and uncanny dodge. Inquisitor 3 gives solo tactics, cunning initiative, and a 10 foot speed boost from the travel domain. Divine Hunter (Hunter) 3 gives otherworldly companion. Fire KK 4 gives a 2D6 touch attack weapon and let’s you get Dreadful Carnage as early as level 5.
strange you havent mentioned it, because its extremely important, but stig witch also gets familiar (as any witch), and oracle's curse which progresses with character level
Wanted a more tanky Cleric so I did a 2 level dip into instinctual warrior, a class I had overlooked until I saw this xD so thanks, having wisdom added to AC and initiative plus rage that increases wisdom and damage that stacks with skald rage power is great. Oh yhea, Cleric BaB goes up another point with this so I also will get an extra attack at lv20 haha Only downside is the delayed spell progression and a pet that will end at lv 19 of my calculations are right.
Nvmd, they don't really stack, I ended up mistaking two different bonuses. Still useful for the extra layer of hit points since it only depends on my character level. So plus 40 extra hp at lv 20. Limitless rage for sure on fights where I'm not using skald's rage, most of the spells I'll use with the cleric are buffs so I'll just pre buff and go in raging all the time haha
Slayer 20 is great, but for the second class with Legend, it's best to focus on high BAB classes like Fighter (Mutation Warrior) and Ranger (Demonslayer), because this way you can achieve 40 BAB which results in more attacks/round and also way higher damage with Mythic Power Attack. Knife Master would be better with just 1 level, because the extra damage to Sneak Attack requires just that!
Stupid question about instinctual warrior, it says the AC bonus works when unarmoured and not holding a shield, does a buckler count for that too? Since it technically doesn't have the light or heavy tag, it should work right?
did they change the instinctual warrior?, I played an instinctual less than a month ago and the armor bonus from wis for both monk and instinctual warrior did stack
Do you know the best multiclass or single class for a "Fae-Character"? (Like "Oko" from magic the gathering) Maybe with an animal companion and support etc? I really love your videos, but actually, I am struggling xD Thank you for all the stuff you are doing for us!
Well I think the immunities that you can get can be quite handy. Also the Fey Bloodline gives you a 10 DR/cold iron which is not too bad, especially against those pesky AoEs that target you even when riding a pet or staying behind the frontline
I would have a question for a build. Want to make a BAB spear and board aeon.bso i guess taking a dip from monk and ranger from the main class wich would be mutation warrior i dont know if it would be a good idea
For that, you'd need Shortspears, as I believe both normal + Longspears are 2H only. I wouldn't really bother with multiclassing much, outside of Vivisectionist perhaps for the Mutagen, or Mutation Warrior 5. You should be able to go Sohei Monk Aeon which is great too and has free access to Horse for stronger Spear Charge Mounted Attacks now that spears have been buffed.
@@cRPGBro sohei would be god send but it loses its ac bonus if i use a shield, so im thinking going Slayer, then take a dip into probably instinctual warrior for the ac boost or pherhaps as you said scrap it and go full slayer or take a dip into mutation warrior?

Wolf-scarred does have penalties. It is 10% chance of spell failure. It was added in one of the patches after Enhanced Edition if I am not mistaken.
It's because nowadays, Wolf Scarred has a pretty crippling 10% Spell Failure Chance, and Bite attacks no longer stack.
