Thanks for posting these!.. My husband had the opportunity to meet Phillip several years ago, during a trip to Stockton. He has a page on Facebook, "All Things Phil Spector".
That's wild i actually talked to your husband about it a few years ago about him going to Stockton and meeting Phil. I use to write letters back and forth with him but sadly i never got the chance to meet him. He was a true musical genius and pioneer but sadly he was a bit crazy but most true geniuses are.
@@TheVinylking Yeah, he took advantage of it 5 or 6 years ago. He still has one voice message from Phillip saved thanking him for the page... I know he'd always send birthday cards thru express mail out to Stockton. It's a shame Covid took his life. So odd how he was so wealthy, from that to living off $225/month. Genius, but yes, a very tortured soul!
@@Theodore81547 That is pretty cool he has a voice message from him. I heard he was losing his voice and had some type of throat cancer. I would also send him birthday cards to. I am glad Phil still had fans all these years that would send him letters and cards I'm sure he got a lot. I am sure it wasn't easy for him to go from living in a mansion castle to living in a box. It truly is such a heartbreaking situation. I also can't believe fucking Covid took him out... I am still kind of in shock that he is gone and still refuse to believe it. I love finding these old interviews and hearing him talk its so fascinating.
@@TheVinylking husband is in same mindset, hard for him to believe as well. He became very attached to the music & the personality, not to mention his dad passed away several days before Phillip.
Try to upload his '89 induction speech... Have had zero luck finding it. I did find an audio clip, but no video seems to be out there...... Perhaps I need to buy the entire '89 ceremony?
I am just now watching the Phil Spector trial. Seems like he turned into an entirely different man when he was full of alcohol. All the woman said he was a gentleman when he was sober, but when he started drinking he became a monster. Well, he's gone now, so I guess it doesn't really matter.
Unfortunately, Spector seemed rather intoxicated during this recording. Comparing this interview to his Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame award acceptance speech for Ike & Tina Turner, just a mere 15/16 years later, he looked & sounded SO INCREDIBLY MUCH BETTER. I believe by 1991, he was clean, sober & drug free. Watch that acceptance speech; it's COMPLETE night & day from this very weak & torturing interview, sad to say. BolsaChicaRadio.
Yeah you are correct! Phil was very drunk in this interview. The interviewer was Roy Carr and he was sent to interview Phil at his house for a biopic movie a studio was making and i guess him and Phil and a few other people were out all night drinking and would do the interviews at night at like 3 AM in the morning and Phil was always wasted by then. He talks about it in his book where i also got these interview from called A Talk on the Wild Side
@@gavinbrando8255 would you really ?? doesnt sound that great.if it ends in shite than none of it really matters.. the old you cant buy happiness.. but you can give it a good shot.
His last words were “you wouldn’t want my life, I have not been at peace”, that sent chills through me when I first read it. There were a lot of factors that went into making him that way but he remains the greatest genius in the history of popular music.
Spector just oozes insecurity.

Wow thanks for sharing this. He sounds very sad here. lord know why he even did it.
Nothing wrong with separating the art from the artist, but the amount of people defending this guy is honestly worrying.

Twenty eight years later he murdered beautiful Lala Clarkson. He is a horrible person 😔
Each shouldn’t be remembered by (specifically only this). Do you know the backstory or real life story behind each?
Yes very true. The lives tragically taken away. Saddening and horrifying this happened and his life and her life changed for the unfortunate worse.
Rest In Heaven Respectively each.
And Rest In Peace Tina Turner,&Ronnie Spector,Lana Clarkson,&Phil Spector.
