5 years ago, the RTX 20 series was supposed to bring the ray-traced future of gaming. That still hasn’t really happened. The 2060 Super was scoffed at back then for its poor ray tracing performance, but in 2024, the card holds up surprisingly well.

I think the RX 6600 is definitely a good alternative to the 2060S. Don't get me wrong, the 2060S is a good GPU, but the RX 6600 has a lower TDP, can be readily found for $150 used, and is honestly a bit more modern.
yeah i just got a 6650 8gb and its pretty good compared to my 2060

My son got the nitro 5700xt for Christmas. The guy had the box which was nice because Santa got to wrap it up. It's a very nice card. Super heavy so you need a kick stand. The RGB on the nitro version is really cool if you're into that. I paid 120 for it from a guy on market place. He included a RGB stand and gave me a 1tb ssd drive worth 60 dollars. I needed the storage for my computer so I installed it immediately. The way I see it I spent 60 bucks on a super sick 5700xt nitro!
Santa also found a refurbished ipason with a 5600g. I was surprised with the newer tuf board. 16gb ram. Full of rgb fans and heat sinks for 315 dollars. I had some rgb ram laying around so I threw that in. My son's computer is amazing for the price to performance. All together I paid 400 bucks.
I wish my son would be happy with that i had to get him the rx 7900 xtx 24gb

I've been using this exact Zotac card since April 2020. I bought it because it was literally the last card left in my town, I was trying to get a 2070S but I just missed it. So I got home feeling slightly deflated, underwhelmed and the rest as you might expect. The thing is though, when I plugged it in I was pleasantly surprised by the performance.

I'm getting a 7600xt. It fits specific needs for what I've been needing, the old 1070s grown long in the tooth, it served me well but it's time to lay it down. That 16 gigs of vram is really going to help out with my stable diffusion.
1 thing that i never hear get mentioned is afmf (but until Jan.
24th it’s still beta so i get it) and rsr, but as a person that upgraded from a rx 580 to a 5700xt 2 weeks ago, I’m using rsr in games like Fortnite that don’t have fsr with the quality preset to 1440p

I'm still using a 2060 and still fit my needs. My games are still playable on high settings and I can edit videos on my work smoothly.

Yes I did very much consider the 2060s, I am currently on 1050ti since 2018 and its hella showing it's age. I think the 2060super is best cheapest upgrade from 1050ti.
If you have to have Nvidia the 2060 super is a good 1080p card, and it will beat rtx 3050 too. Compared to the 1050ti you're doubling your vram and you will see a decent FPS jump.

I already have this Zotac 2060 super in my pre-built pc since 2020 and it's fantastic for performing amazing on games and heavy production like blender and unity. I still have it to this day and it holds up very well.

I have had my 2060 super since 2020. While it wasnt the newest GPU at the time or the fastest, it was in my budget and has performed amazing for me the last 4 years. I just found a deal on the RX 6800 and bought it and cant wait, but I'll miss this bad boy.
The advantage of the 5700XT was huge, with driver updates it almost matched the 2070 Super. But in 2023/24 DLSS has become so good that it's worth going for the 2060S. DLSSQ at 1080p is really good and often improves soft looking 1080p games. FSR falls way way behind in this aspect. Also things like far better h264 encoders for game capture and streaming. Nvidia Broadcast. Far better blender performance due to Optix (RT cores).

I mean, if you are willing to use dlss you can turn ray tracing on with the 2060 S. My 2700X and 2060 S does ray tracing low in CP 2077 at over 60fps with dlss quality.
I also use nvidia game stream and moonlight which is still easier when using an nvidia gpu.
Are those the settings you actually play with, or just turn on to test it out and explore?
@ZachsTechTurf to be honest. I set them and ran the benchmark a couple times. On my 3070 system I actually play at rtx medium with dlss quality, high crowd density and the benchmark runs on that system say I average about 70fps.
For the little I did play on my 2060S it felt smooth and playable at those settings. But when I actually play I don't record the fps.i probably should turn it down to high and play at native.
I also can't rule out that I got the preset and settings wrong, or the game didn't apply them correctly.
i found a pc on the side of the road today and it had a i-7 6700k and i had a i-5 6600 and it WORKS!

I wanted to make a vid because this is what I use from msi and I can run tons of new AAA games even Alan wake on 1440 p 60frames but that’s with all settings dropped still looks gorgeous though and with a decent cpu for dlss to have it’s back you’ve got a great gaming pc
I know it's probably overkill, but I paired my 2060 Super with an overclocked 4790K, playing at 1440p.
Ayyy that’s literally the exact model I have, I use it for 4k in some games got it used for £180 but I’ve seen others for like £300 when I upgrade I’ll probably get a 3080 or something

You have a good point. But you did not count mesh shaders support. In games like Alan Wake 2 mesh shaders are requared. So this game is just unplayable on RX 5700 XT or any GTX 10 gen as top of the line titan on Pascal architecture. RTX 2060 SUPER on other hand have mesh shaders and it will be able play future games.

it's true that a lot of people prefer nvidia but i think the reason nvidia has such a high market share is because pre built companies tend to use Nvidia and most PC gamers but prebuilts

Hey Zack, my one DRAM slot does not works and some pins appear to be bent on the CPU socket on the motherboard. It's an LGA1700 socket rocking and i5 12400F. Is there some diagram explaining which pins does what?

its a 2060 super chip on a 3060 pcb.
on stock clocks its bad, but it oc's very well. i run mine on 3060 clocks (especialy the mem) and basicly have a weird 12gb 2070 in performance.

Your CPU is pretty fine, but the gtx 1650 is kind of a bottleneck. You can use i3 10th gen for even a 3060, but the best combo would probably be with RX 6600 or an nVidia 2060s/2070

@@Mike_o_O CPU is fine, you can upgrade that later on. 1650 is definitely the one to look at. Those suggestions above are great. Either AMD Route with 6600/XT or 3060/ti models. Huge upgrade from ur existing gpu.

I bought an A750 brand new in Canada for less than one of those used.
I sold my friend one of these and he is happy, sold him it with a r5 3600, 16gb RAM ( was my old system ) and he has be able to play any AAA game at 1080p perfectly fine. Sure it wasnt the best purchase back then but its not terrible now at all for what you get. 6600xt is also a great option along with 5700xt ( although I think I am cursed as the 5700xts have been a horrendous experience for anyone who I recommended them to ).

I'm getting an RTX 2060S soon. The main advantage of getting Nvidia instead of AMD is the productivity side, which is more capable of video editing, 3D render, and streaming, all thanks to CUDA architecture, while AMD lacked any of these features I wanted to, although both of them are outclassed by Intel Quicksync, which supports 8-12 bit @ 4:2:2 chroma subsampling. I know ROCm is an equivalent to CUDA, but they focused on AI side, and HIP is barely supported on Blender. If your channel is mostly focused on gaming, why not just talk about AMD vs. Nvidia for productivity?
honestly if on a budget and you only game its always better going for the 5700xt but if you plan to do some content creation or streaming the 2060S is the better way to go

You can also get an 2070 super from EVGA b stock refurbished with a one-year warranty for 220
If you add 10-20 dollars more you can get a rx 6650 xt new with full warranty and almost identical performance
im gonna do the 2060 since im gonna be using dlss so thats why i want nvidia

For RX 7800XT, Ryzen 7600x & B650 motherboard vs Intel i5 14600kf & z790 motherboard ($120 costlier). Does extra $120 worth in intel for performance??? (I checked the price of i5 13600kf but it was the same as 14th gen)... RX 7800XT vs RTX4070 which has edge in stimulator racing games

Hello, i got my pc with ryzen 5 1600 but thats not the problem i got the gigagyte gtx 1080 and i got one problem. The problem is that my fans doesnt spin at all even if i play games it just doesnt spin. i downloaded the clocking software from gigabyte and try to set bymyself but it just doesnt spin and i searched what temperatures should be good so it doesnt melt and i founded around 94 celsius. Can you try to help me to solve this problem pwease and i love your videos❤
What's not mentioned in the Steam Hardware Survey is that generations of playstation and xbox ran/run on AMD, meaning that there's way more gamers on AMD hardware than you may be thinking. For further context, the original Xbox ran on AMD and the PS5 currently runs AMD.

GTX 1660Ti (customer may choose between 1660ti, 2060Super, RTX 3060 12gb and rx 5700xt)
16gb ram at 3200mhz
650w psu
6 fans in total not including cooler
1tb of HDD (customer may choose to add 1tb/500gb of nvme M2 ssd and a regular SSD at 512gb)
What would you guys recomment i improve with this build or change for a higher success at flipping it? Thanks 🙏🏼
Obviously 3060 12gb is best option there, as it's 30 series and has 12GB of vram, while other gpus have 8gb, and it is a newer gpu. In this PC you should NOT consider a HDD at all. They are just too slow and since this PC is somewhat mid range definetively an HDD would slow it down a lot. I advise for an SSD of any kind

I'd say there's no need to upgrade to Windows 11 until you've upgraded your CPU to one with P and E cores (e.g., i5-12600KF, i5-13400F). The i3-12100F doesn't have E cores.

@@An_M4A3 Okay. Your PC should have no problem running Windows 11 if you upgrade to it.
Keep in mind that Windows 12 is launching this year, so if you don't plan to upgrade for a while, you may be able to skip 11 entirely.

main reason if you're flipping PC's was explained at the start, nobody wants an AMD GPU.
also if not just gaming some workflows for video/photo editing work better with Nvidia (particularly tensor core ones)
