  • Here is how I went about building my parallel kit to run three generators all in parallel!! Not only that Ive also added the Predator 8750 into the mix and apparently it is actually parallel capable if wired with a Y cable and you are using a 9500 to sync with it. So you must first run the 8750 first as the master and then run the 9500 to synchronize to it.
    Please note if you attempt to build this you are doing so at your own risk.

    You should be using 10 guage wire. The 12 is rated for 20 amps. The 10 is rated for 30 amps. Each of those generators are good for 30 amps each leg. (yes, one of them is 29 amps and the other two are 31.

    Actually, those 9500 have a 50amp. Socket. You should be using #6 wire on 50amp circuits to obtain maximum load values. Under sizing wire reduces maximum amperage on your system. The first inverter gen is what is used to sync the other inverter gensets. So before starting the other two gens. Start and run for 30 seconds allow the motor to react and warm up before starting your other gensets. You can damage your inverter if it's unstable due to cold mornings of rough running engines. That why others use amp/voltage meters to monitor output voltage and regulation. If your first inverter gensets has a issue and you dobt catch it before starting your other gensets, damage can occur across each of the gensets.

      When running the gasifier two gensets = one running on gasoline. We dont have the equipment to pull the full 50 amps. The breakers will blow long before wiring will ever be an issue. There is a 30 amp main in the box it cant pull beyond that.

      @@Thrive-Off-Grid I think your video is very informative, I just wouldn't want others to copy your design word for word using #12ga (20A) or a improper wire size That could cause damage. As your showing roughly 21KW of running amperage in your video there are people that will apply your design for uses that shouldn't. I heard your 'liability' statement, but most don't or don't care to follow standards. Thank u for your video and good luck with your endeavors.

      @@36w3s.talbot4 Not to mention the 220 output on these generators are not 50 amp. They are 30 amp and if you get even close to that they will immediately fault out. The most two combined could put out is 50 amps. A short 12 ga cable is plenty capable of this.

    If you are connecting to your house thru an interlock, you really should unbond the neutral and ground on the back of the panel(s). Simply remove the white wire from the grounding connector on the panel and insulate it.

      Ok yeah that is how it is wired into our inverter. Input block of our inverter is three wire input and four wire out to box. The live legs and the ground go to the input. But you should still wire this Y cable as four wire not everyone is going to wire into a panel. And I still dont get why it matters when the com and ground wires are bassically the same thing. They are both wired to ground terminal block inside the electrical box. I did wire our box it came pre wired.

    Combining two of the 9,500 predators will that just higher the amp capacity and watts available? Will it still stay the same as of the 120v/240v available or will that go up as well? I have mixed 120v and 240v for what I need it for

    • @JPHER217
      @JPHER217 Рік тому +1

      It will just give you higher Amps/wattage.
      For example instead of getting a huge diesel 15 thousand watts or more you can just get 2 smaller generators like this and run them in parallell for higher output power.

    I’m confused as to why you can’t do this with the 8750 if you have two of them?
    Connecting both together into a junction box that has a 50 amp plug.
    Why can you do this with the 9500s but not the 8750s?

    • @Thrive-Off-Grid
      @Thrive-Off-Grid  10 місяців тому

      Because they are not capable of syncronizing the two phase. The 9500 units have the ability to syncronize to each other or another 8750 if it is fired up first. The 9500 will then syncronize its phase to the 8750.

      The 9500 is the primary larger generator, the 8750 is the same sinewave as the 9500 so the 8750 would sync to the 9500. Not like two governor style gensets like one at 5KW and the other at 7KW. You would need to regulate the 5KW generators governor to manually sync with the 7KW genset, this is why syncing two governor style gensets isn't worth the money to sync together. Unless you want to sit there and play power source engineer while everyone else is inside the house living well. Just another thought pure sinewave inverters are used in many modern gensets. You can actually have a governor style genset (older Type) larger of course say 8kw and you can sync a smaller inverter style pure sinewave genset say 5kw to the older 7kw as that would act as primary. that would give you 12KW of standby power. All our solar systems are all sinewave and most are grid-tied. That means wherever in the US you plug in your inverter, it will match the power on the pole. Same way uising the old gentsets as long as its putting out stable power say at 50% load.

      I'm confused. In older comments you stated the 8750 had to be used as the primary because the 9500 is the one with syncing capability. If what you're saying in this comment is true and the 9500 is primary and the 8750 is syncing to it because they have the same sine wave, then why couldn't 2 8750's be paralleled?

    do you have to start the 8750 first for everything to sync properly

    • @Thrive-Off-Grid
      @Thrive-Off-Grid  5 місяців тому

      Yes the 9500 only has the ability to sync. The 8750 if the 9500 is running first will not bring power online. So it must started first. Dont waste money on these inverters. If you are using it for off grid. Get a normal generator and use the money you save and buy an off grid invertet with built in battery charger. Use it to clean up the power. If you are going off grid you have to buy it anyways so there is no point in buying the inverter generators. The off grid inverter dont care if the power is dirty or not.

    • @gkorenek
      @gkorenek Рік тому +1

      @h82fail & @Thrive Energy Systems my questions are: Can 2 "8750" type inverter generators be paralleled (this by hand-wiring a "Y" parallel cable connecting to each generator's A/B/N 240v 30 amp output connector)? Can inverter generators that do not have "cable ready" parallel ports still be paralleled by a hand-wired "Y" cable" since it appears that inverter generators with front panel paralleling ports, the paralleling ports are wired off the generator's 240V A, B, and neutral sockets? What would be fantastic is if there were a bible or ruleset published that lists what is functional & allowable to parallel inverter generators especially for inverter generators with no front panel parallel ports and even include paralleling inverter with non-inverter generator.,
