You can tell Aegon II had went mad by the time of his return to KL. He knew he couldn’t produce another child much less a male heir but his vengeance and anger had clouded his judgement so much he failed to see the gods had given him the answer on a silver platter. Two perfectly healthy boys one of which was rumored to be his half brother part of a family that had not turned on him and only took up the throne after Rae Rae proved a terrible ruler and one rumored to be his SON. So you don’t want sully your late wife’s good name then legitimize Tristan and call him brother and heir. Take him under your wing and mold him into the king you want or if Tristians birth is too questionable legitimize your rumored son and call him son and heir and take him under you wing and mold him. I mean just because you name them heir now doesn’t mean you can’t undo it if you ever have a real heir.
Also I like the idea that it’s the Targaryen women who have the gene that births dragons and had he shown his sister mercy maybe he would’ve been able to hatch a couple of dragons and since he was king he would’ve gotten the credit. Really shows that there is something to a kinslayer being cursed by the gods in a way. Love the video guys can’t wait for the last one next year lol

So many battles are lost on the idiotic whims of overconfident men. Borros got what he deserved. Homie was too power hungry and too eager to crush people for the slightest reason. Homie thought young men and women wouldnt fight for their lives. LOL! Aegon was no better. Had he just made peace....... but the bitterness wouldnt let him.

i know that even george says pronunciation isnt important and theres alot of wiggle room with most names. but i find it so distracting when you pronounce names with YS in them as EES instead of ISS. for example CorlEES instead of CorlISS or VarEES instad of VarISS ( corlys and varys) more examples mad king arys (arISS not arEES, horys (pronounced like the modern name horace, not horEES) i feel like the proper way to pronounce names in ASOIAF is to lean more towards the modern/anglicized names that george is basing thrm on. not a huge deal i love your guys' content been listening for seems like around 7 years (first spotify then YT) just pointing it out as your the best ASOIAF pod IMO but your the only one i hear "mispronouncing". that said, george's DOATH-RA-KAI sounds way cooler than GOT's DOTH-RACKY.... much love you guys
