Absolutely love this big stitch hand quilting!Just starting to entertain the idea of hand quilting. Am so excited to give this a try. LOVE the pattern of this garden quilt! I'm glad you like the video! Give yourself time to get used to the stitch and keep at it. Once you get it, hand quilting is amazingly relaxing.
I have been big stitch quilting in the evenings for the last month and it is amazing how fast this goes. I'm going to have this lap quilt finished this week!

Oh how I love all of your quilts, but this one makes my heart sing. The lawn fabrics are gorgeous! I think I’m going to have to make something like this beauty.
I think you definitely should! You know that you kind find this pattern, Lawn and Garden, at pieceocake.com, right? And I do have some cotton lawn fabric bundles. Type 'lawn' in the search box on the site and you'll find both.

I've recently completed a big stitch quilting and I'm pretty proud of my quilting calluses!! True its not perfect size stitching but I enjoy the relaxed look and I actually felt so accomplished having done it all by hand! Thank you for sharing! I used a padded cloth palm thimble that I placed mid finger rather than in palm. Worked very nicely !

I just started sewing... and my machine is a beginner machine.. I had made my first quilt for my sister and I did not want to just do straight lines for the quilting part... also, wanted to add detail to the eyes nose and teeth. It was a pixel skull quilt. Anyways. I wish I would had seen this...

Hi Samatha: Yes, that's an original design that I drew myselft but to be honest, there are many similar patterns. Everything old is, or can be, new again.

Yes, I do. But once I'm sure that my stitches on back are a close mirror of those on front, I stop looking.

What is the fabric used on this quilt? I have always wanted to make one like this but can’t find these patterns. Very good informative video.
In this quilt I used cotton lawns... many are from Liberty of London, others are from Moda and maybe other fabric companies. I made this several years ago so these exact fabrics may not be available now.
If you want this exact pattern, the search term to use is: "Lawn and Garden - Digital Download". If you enter just "Lawn and Garden," you will get 712 results, with the pattern buried far down the list.
