      I served my time many years ago as a motor mechanic always hated doing timing belt incase they bent valves and guess what it happened lined up wrong timing marks and turned the key
      and head off and bent valves @@MrAutoFixer

      Yh I understand how people have a fear about it as it can be a very big problem, that first turn of the key is always a bum twitcher lol but I do my very best to triple check every one I do and I’ve done hundreds now I just hope I never get that issue! I’m new to doing these videos and Editing my question to you would be if there anything I can do to make a better viewing experience?

      There is a location hole to lock the flywheel it’s easier if you have a look on Google images and you will see exactly what I mean 👍

    I took mine to the mechanic and he told me it was "100%" a timing chain under the cover. Knew it was bollocks! must go get it changed now. thanks for informative video

      Funny! I had the exact same situation over here in Germany. I asked the guy prior to buying when the timing belt had been changed last. He told me 200% it was a timing chain.Turned out he was wrong and I ended up spending 500+ Euros to get it changed after buying! 🤦🏻‍♂️

      Hey 👋 sounds like a nightmare! But to get it back it time get cylinder 1 to TDC and make sure the crank timing marks line up, then get the cam timing marks to line up and you should be good to give it a try, hope that helps 👍

    • @scottd1999
      @scottd1999 7 місяців тому

      Thanks for replying, so would i just use the bolt on the crank shaft to get cylinder 1 to TDC , then is it alright to put socket on cam shaft bolt to rotate that so the timing marks line up on camshaft pulley? obviously because belt has snapped i can't rotate both at the same time with only using the crank shaft bolt. @@MrAutoFixer
