That is a sneaky little second drain plug tucked away back there! I wonder if that ever gets drained on a main dealer service, is that located lower in the sump than the main drain plug? Chris B.
Hey Chris, it’s very sneaky indeed. From everything I’ve read, it’s normally not unless the owner specifically asks, however it’s also critical to prolonging the life of the turbos. Crazy, hey?

Is that second plug separate for the turbos only?
That’s right. It’s for the turbo oil drain feeds. If it’s not changed it can get really gunked up, adding to the dreaded turbo failure
