I did my best to cram as much info as I could into this one and keep it as short as possible. It probably took me FOUR tries to get it to this version! Please let me know your thoughts in the comments - like and share if you feel like it can help others!
Best youtube content is by those who are pros in another arena, who decided to share their craft. James is one of the absolute best at this. And we're all better for it! So, thanks, James!
Thank you for all of the information you provide it is very helpful and informative. As someone new to the photography world it's fun to watch your videos to learn. One question I have is what do you set your white balance at? A short video of these settings with your white balance would be amazing and I'm sure with your expertise it would help a lot of us begininng out. Again thank you for all the videos.
🎉❤🥳🙏🏼🥰😍 You are my greatest photographer role model. I celebrate you. i hope I can do some great pictures today, with this instructions! thank you so much!❤
Fascinating to see what settings it takes to get your shots! It's really nice when you know all your equipment well and how they all work together and you can just tweak it as necessary for the individual session. Of course, it takes a long time to get to that situation and you have to "kiss a lot of frogs" along the way! Catherine
@@QuantzPhoto "Kissing a lot of frogs" = Old "Southrn" expression meaning sometimes you have to try a lot of different things before you get that perfect combination that works ie kissing a lot of frogs before you get the prince!
Hi James! I'm very thankful for the knowledge that you share. I am very appreciative. I've been a fan of yours for a long time. I keep wanting more, so going back to some of your older material. THANK YOU again, Terry
Hey James … I really enjoy your concise and depth of knowledge and explanation in all your vids. I’m a big fan of the pro light mods and appreciate the expertise and thought that went into your design. Best to you always. Switz
As a new photographer, would you please teach how adjusting one element of the exposure triangle effect the other two. I have learned a ton from your videos. Thank you.
@@QuantzPhoto Yes, sir I understand. I believe that us rookies could use the experience, knowledge and wisdom of professionals like you. Thank you for your contribution to photography and posting on this platform.

Merci beaucoup d'être généreux de votre temps, petite suggestion il serait intéressant de pouvoir vous envoyer nos photos faites avec l'achat de nos ProMod et d'avoir un avis critique en vidéo de vous sur nos photos.
With the FJ400 and FJ200 strobes, how do you dial in those for settings? The range of 4-6 is just a guide, right? Will I find a past video on that part of you workflow? Nice video on the basics for camera settings.
It's about setting your camera up so you can keep the power in that range on your strobe. That'll fluctuate depending on things like distance, types of modifiers, etc. and you'll have to compensate in camera(iso, aperture) depending.
@@QuantzPhotois the approach to studio photography the same as shooting outdoors with artificial lighting, where you set up your camera to how dark or bright you want your background? When shooting indoors, are you supposed to turn off or dim the lights first and then start adjusting to lighting? If so, won’t the camera automatically want to make your iso high, and your aperture to the lowest setting and your exposure real slow to compensate for the lack of ambient light?
So the first step is to expose to the sky. Make it darker, not flashing at that point. Second one, without moving anything of the setup (shutter speed, Iso, F) then you put the flashes on and take the shots. Is that correct, man? Thanks!

God stuff as usual. Also with your ISO settings that also helps your strobes not work so hard as well. Smart thinking and love your work!

One time I shared my settings for a sunrise shoot .. 800 iso … and the keyboard gurus chastised me and made statements like “100 ISO always”
💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕
On this shoot, u used black fabric as backdrop?

Exposure triangle is terrible and not a good way to learn. Even the creator of the triangle said so himself.
Thanks for sharing!
