Thanks for sharing the rail section. That's me nearly every time I skate. I can get into a rhythm and feel good about learning a trick. Then I go downhill and I lose it. By the end I can't even come close to the trick and it's so frustrating. I feel you. Thanks again.

Its so nice that you show the real side of skateboarding. I hate when people don't put bails in skate parts which I know is supposed to show how good you are, I feel like it shows people a different side of skateboarding. I tell people I skate for 2 years and I feel like they immediately think I'm insane, but I'm still getting comfortable with my kickflips at speed. I also really understand when you say you wanted to cry for not landing the trick. I'm still in high school so I have to wait until after school to try the trick again. I broke my foot two Saturdays ago and it sucks I can't skate. These vids keep my motivation high though for sure. So many people at my school have quit skating and it sucks. Luckily I have friends to skate with and keep me motivated.
Teenagers get into skateboarding because they think it's cool. They quit because they learn it's hard. I got into skateboarding as a 5 year old because I thought it was magic. I've been skating for 24 years now and still think it's wizardry at work. Good luck on your skateboard journey and remember to always have fun.

Fort Worth a lot of people are super nice.
We don’t just say don’t skateboard. They just tell you where you can. And we do have quite a lot of skateparks so it’s fair for them to tell you to go to a park.

I absolutely loved how everyone in this video gave him suggestions for places he could skate when they kicked him out. I've legit never seen that before.
But that's also the energy John brings; I can't see him getting mad about being asked not to skate something.
I LOVE how analytical you are with your skating: I never was, and it brings to light everything I had ever done wrong, and why I coulnd't ever land new tricks after a certain point. Thank you for the videos, man!
my guy... i've watched you skate for a while now, and your interest in putting your whole heart into a trick or a combo or really anything is second to none. you havent half assed shit. the nollie heels were very clean but yeah, on the backside flip, you only got about what, a foot off the ground? may be something as simple as not getting enough pop in that left foot! I know all of the flips in a row flatground got smoother, the more you did them (happens with practice regardless) but once you took a step back and got a few other rail tricks down, you ended well. You obviously love skating, so remember the process, and trust it. Dont push yourself to the point of pain bro, emotional or otherwise. Try your best to keep it fun!

@@pavvosaur low flips definitely have a solid spot in skating, no denying that. But also, higher flips (nollie heely in this case) have a place too especially when rails are involved. Kinda hard to get a low flip onto a rail lol
I had a trip to Texas when I was younger and we did parkour at that fountain park. Love the videos, keep it up!! Also liked the end part of you learning tricks on the rail
All I've done in my 24 years of skating (minus the childhood) is do what you're doing here. Finding street spots is a passion and the true spirit of skateboarding. I love that you're a loner, I always couldn't be bothered linking up with people to skate with.

Thank you for sharing the hard parts of learning a new trick. I recently picked up an old sport I used to play and I'm no better than your average girl anymore, and I find myself cursing and just verbalizing my frustration a lot while I'm practicing. This made me feel less bad about it! :)

After I battle and sometimes I think I wanna cry before I get too frustrated I pretty much do the same thing I just gotta do everything I’m comfortable doing to finish the session don’t like ending on a battle that was a good one keep killing it
Me but I keep battling the thing I’m battling and go in and just hate life especially if it’s a trick i have done before and I’m battling it that’s just annoying and upsetting also I’ll just keep trying and trying and trying not wanting to give up until it’s so dark I can’t see my board anymore and even then I try then it just gets way to dark and I have to go inside that is the worst
water gardens was the perfect spot, usually skaters get caught by the loud noise but the water drowns it out nicely. Great vid as always bro.

John, I could tell you about some super waxed ledges in Downtown Fort Worth that me and my friends have never been kicked out of…
One is by TCC downtown. It is always super waxed, and is on a sidewalk going downhill.
Another is a marble 3 stair in front of the YMCA downtown. Never been kicked out. Actually the people who work at the YMCA come out and watch me skate lol.
The marble 3 stair in front of YMCA is my favorite. It’s great.

I've skated the water gardens before visiting my mom in fort worth.. I was like 16 and super stoked that I ollied a scary flat gap over a waterfall that was like 10ft up in the air. I think it was that big or I coulda been a kid.
Edit: where I skated it I was kinda in the woods unless I'm thinking of a completely different spot.
You might be thinking of the botanical gardens, not the water gardens!

If the pinging of the rail aggravates you, spray foam on the inside kills it. It doesn’t add any weight really, makes it sound better, and provides protection from moisture build up.

You got me stressing on the water gardens 😬. Multiple people have died falling into the water on the thumbnail. I like your content, but you should definitely make it clear no one should try skating that part.
