I’m a licensed nailed tech and he is supposed to clean and prep her nails before he applied the tips. Had a state inspector did a secret service in that shop, they would be handing out several fines.
Thst nail tried to play your family. Your mom is up on her came. She was right to demand proper service. Anybody who sees this and goes there will be a fool. Some health inspector should spot them.
I swear IDK why customer service has taken a far backseat in too many industries nowadays. My patience and tolerance for bad customer service is ZERO. If I’m paying for a service, I REQUIRE good customer service be given.

She removed my nail tips and did an overlay on my natural nails without my permission-because I said I type a lot and didn’t want them to grow too long. I was too busy talking to my bff about her situation she was going through and I walked out with nubs!!!And then charged me $95! I said guurrrrrlllll!” Asked the manager for what? They acted like I was nobody. I was arguing my point-but I didn’t want to go to jail-I’m a business owner lol. Now I’m Doing my own nails like should’ve- I went to school years ago to do. Don’t go to Hollywood Nails Salon in Greensboro NC. That was a month ago and I’m still hot! Great video still! Tells us where to spend money and where not to, we work too hard to be mishandled. 😘
That’s the very reason I bought myself the nail kit from Amazon. I don’t do fancy nails but they look fabulous. After a local nail salon employee got crazy with a client not knowing another client in the shop at the time was a female detective on our police force was a witness to everything. Long story short they are no longer in business. Instead of the owner getting rid of that one bad apple business started to slack off until there was no more business. My daughter in law showed me how to do my own nails so I’m happy with my results.

Hey girl hey! I used to go to that nail salon a lot but they have definitely changed since new ownership took over awhile ago and I haven’t been since. They 100% over charged for your mom and sister. They charged me (just for myself) $120 for a basic pedicure and basic manicure no gel or nothing extra which is one of the reasons I stopped going. After new ownership took over, they went downhill. Love your videos and saw your mom and dad at Sam’s not too long ago 🥰
Listen I understand what you’re talking about completely. I was a loyal customer of American nail spa but as of 2 years ago I stopped going because I felt they always rushed on my nails and was not friendly at all. It’s hard to find a nail salon where they check all the boxes if you know what I mean. I am paying & TIPPING you good so I deserve nothing less than your best, I hope you all find a nail salon that is better than that. I have. Honey Spa Nails on Houston levee has been great so far. Fingers crossed 🤞
Destiny you are absolutely 💯 % correct, you have a right to be upset for the way your mom and sister was treated. Whether you spent $20 or $200, you deserved better service and treatment than what y'all received. Unfortunately, the Asians have taken over the nail salon business and they feel they have the right to treat us any type of way. We(African American women) are making them rich and without us they would have no business. If we learned to ban together and boycott their business for a week, they'd definitely feel the pinch. We need more of our own people opening up nail salons, keep the money flowing in our own communities.

I am a licensed cosmetologist and you have to watch where you spend your 💰. They try to treat US LESS THEN! Call State Board on them. They cut corners and give you a 💩 attitude if you expect a professional service . Then want you to pay for it with a BIG tip and a smile. State Board needs to Check them licenses on Techs and the cleaning records ect . TALK on 📱 or eating and drinking doing a client's service is unprofessional PERIOD! STOP giving them your hard earned 💰 . They set up to service certain area for a reason. They believe in 30 min and 15 mins services. And alot of up charge services . Like French polish, paraffin,masks and scrubs . They put on and off in 2 mins. Go to places that you have some recourse if your service and the end product is not satisfactory. Those shop are to learn to build service speed and a clientele and move on to open another business to bring more family and friends here.
Thanks to you Destiny, I no longer have to go to any Salon to get my nails and feet done. I studied cosmetology in high school. I am competent in doing manicures and pedicures. I have had the same experience in the past with nail technicians. They are no longer needed. Until they can learn to treat all people, the same. "Period"

Girl I had an experience like that a few weekends ago. I specifically asked for a manicure, dip polish, and a pedicure . The lady did dip on no prep etc so I’m telling my husband they didn’t do my nails right and when we asked them they gone say if you want a manicure and dip that’s more money .. I’m like I know that I specifically told y’all I wanted a mani , with dip and a pedicure. I was so upset I was just ready to go because they tried to act as if we didn’t have the money to pay for both!

I went to a Jhene Aiko concert by myself & it was a whole vibe. Plus it was at college campus. So the students made it even more fun, taught a few dance moves, Aayyeee! ❤️ Now don’t get me wrong/ not being negative but some of these nails salons don’t be caring if U spent $50 or $1000 😬 all they care about is the money, timing & maybe being a little punctual with service. 5 ppl can walk in the door at one time (all they see is $$$$) crazy but true. I go once a month to get my pedicure, let them scrub up my Myra’s 😂😂 so I can keep up maintenance throughout the month. Destiny u taught me a lot about doing ur nails & feet, that’s how I originally started following u, from watching ur DIY pedicure videos ❤️ Ordering them same pedicure kits off Amazon too, Lol!!! I love the Volcano spa kit (have ur feet feeling like silk) 🤭 All in all u have good & bad nail salons. That’s why I’m tryna get better with doing my own & learning how to apply acrylic on my Myra’s (feet)!!! 😂 Love the Vlogs Destiny 🥰

I feel y’all’s frustration recently I had to let go of my favorite nail salon been going there over 5 years and after the pandemic they had two people in a shop that at one point was fully staffed my cousin she is looking to be apprentice and she could work there and they told her they don’t need anyone their not hiring with a now hiring sign outside just for her to come back a week later to get her toes done and they tell someone who is their race that they are hiring in front of her. I totally understand how you feel and hope they lose business that was disrespectful for them to treat your mom that way.
I’m not surprised. They typically are racist and only hire their “kind” I’m done giving them my hard earned money. My last experience the nail tech tried to give me used flip flops and got mad when I called him out on it , then magically came back with a new pack. Smh

Yep! The same thing happened to me where they didn’t peep my real nails before apply the acrylic, and my nails started popping off 3 days afterwards. Mane I went back up there and they had to give me a fresh new set. 🤷🏾♀️😂.

I got that teriyaki chicken bowl from the same place. I can’t remember the name but they had those big huge wok looking things and it was over kind of behind the Ferris wheel. I said the same thing about the chicken. The texture was off. It was really fibrous. Good tho😋
I hate that your Mom and Sister experienced horrific service from that nail shop. I was getting precisely that type of treatment from several nail prior to the pandemic in 2020. I made up my mind then to do my own manicures and pedicures and have not stepped in any nail shops since. I will not be treated that way and waste my hard earned money. It’s such a shame the way they behaved! That was most definitely bad customer service!
This is why I do my own nails now!!!! 💅 the last time I got them done it was 4 years ago for my birthday and they popped of the next day most likely because they rushed I had payed 80 dollars and then the lady told me they dint take credit cards and I dint have cash on me at the moment and I couldn’t leave to find an atm so she took my credit card and it worked☠️. Edit: they be messing over people so the nails can fall off as a tactic for people who don’t know better to come back😂

Idk if May was all salons act up month but I had the same issue at a salon about 30 mins from where I stay. Now I don't get my nails done too often since I work with my hands a lot, but I decided to before I went on a lil weekend outing to celebrate my anniversary with my mans. I was the first customer and when I came in the nail tech was in the middle of doing her own nails, and looked surprised to see me? Despite my appointment. Long story short, she didn't prep my nails, no cuticles pushing or soaking or anything and I ended up paying around 75$(plus tip cus I felt she was nice despite the terrible nails). I quite literally went into my car and cried because my fresh gel manicure looked several weeks old because the "polish was slipping" and "it happens sometimes". I don't work with gel so I took her word for it but never again.

I feel y’all’s frustration recently I had to let go of my favorite nail salon been going there over 5 years and after the pandemic they had two people in a shop that at one point was fully staffed my cousin she is looking to be apprentice and she could work there and they told her they don’t need anyone their not hiring with a now hiring sign outside just for her to come back a week later to get her toes done and they tell someone who is their race that they are hiring in front of her. I totally understand how you feel and hope they lose business that was disrespectful for them to treat your mom that way.
I’m not surprised. They typically are racist and only hire their “kind” I’m done giving them my hard earned money. My last experience the nail tech tried to give me used flip flops and got mad when I called him out on it , then magically came back with a new pack. Smh

Yep! The same thing happened to me where they didn’t peep my real nails before apply the acrylic, and my nails started popping off 3 days afterwards. Mane I went back up there and they had to give me a fresh new set. 🤷🏾♀️😂.

I got that teriyaki chicken bowl from the same place. I can’t remember the name but they had those big huge wok looking things and it was over kind of behind the Ferris wheel. I said the same thing about the chicken. The texture was off. It was really fibrous. Good tho😋

I hate that your Mom and Sister experienced horrific service from that nail shop. I was getting precisely that type of treatment from several nail prior to the pandemic in 2020. I made up my mind then to do my own manicures and pedicures and have not stepped in any nail shops since. I will not be treated that way and waste my hard earned money. It’s such a shame the way they behaved! That was most definitely bad customer service!
This is why I do my own nails now!!!! 💅 the last time I got them done it was 4 years ago for my birthday and they popped of the next day most likely because they rushed I had payed 80 dollars and then the lady told me they dint take credit cards and I dint have cash on me at the moment and I couldn’t leave to find an atm so she took my credit card and it worked☠️.
Edit: they be messing over people so the nails can fall off as a tactic for people who don’t know better to come back😂

Idk if May was all salons act up month but I had the same issue at a salon about 30 mins from where I stay. Now I don't get my nails done too often since I work with my hands a lot, but I decided to before I went on a lil weekend outing to celebrate my anniversary with my mans. I was the first customer and when I came in the nail tech was in the middle of doing her own nails, and looked surprised to see me? Despite my appointment. Long story short, she didn't prep my nails, no cuticles pushing or soaking or anything and I ended up paying around 75$(plus tip cus I felt she was nice despite the terrible nails). I quite literally went into my car and cried because my fresh gel manicure looked several weeks old because the "polish was slipping" and "it happens sometimes". I don't work with gel so I took her word for it but never again.
