Greetings Dan... I started using neoprene cage nuts & then use a few drops of crazy glue. I often deliver to somewhat remote construction camps and drive 60-100 miles on unpaved roads where even my dentures vibrate loose. 👍. Stay safe, don't die.
Thanks Dan for the video. Admire your ability to correct a problem. To eliminate the lock washer, you could try Nyloc or Nylocks...I don’t know how it is spelled. Take care.
Put a Pop Rivet tool into your kit. Shove the Rivet thru the hole, add a washer on the other side (spreads load) and POP it. Rivets come in Aluminum and Steel. The tool and a plastic box of assorted rivets is smaller than that drill. Consumer grade tool sizes are small: 3/16 down, still way handy
Good job Dan one day you'll come off and buy a cordless drill until then don't worry about it you have your generator and your power converter glad you can see to get it fixed and you're on the Run be safe
On those bolts and nuts. When you don't have lock washers. I just find clear package wrapper from anything. Stick a small piece on the bolt. Then tighten the nut on that, and it will act like thread locker.
I'm I the only one who watches them loading and thinks to myself where and how many straps I would use. lol Guess it's the old flat bedder in me. Be safe out there driver.
Lock washers don’t work! You can google it. They for sure don’t work with vibration! Nyloc do work. Enjoy your video I’m an OLD owner operator now retired. That new mic works great getting the professional one was a good move.
Morning Dan. Great fix but get locking nuts 🤣 Are big supermarket back in the UK 🇬🇧 is Tesco and no chance of parking big trucks in there car park lol 😆 That mic is very good 👍🏻 Cheers trucker UK 🇬🇧 Stevie 😎
my version of the repair would be with pop rivets.....the little popper is cheap, the rivets come in different diiameters and a choice of steel, aluminum, stainless, etc....good strength and no nuts to fall off.
Dan, your not CHEEP!!! Your cost concerned about maximizing your profits!!! Lmao. Maybe you should go to harbor freight and get some of the clamp lights so just in case your out and something goes wrong you have light. I know you may have the lights like I do that clamp on the bill of a hat or a headband type but it’s best to flood an area with light I feel.
Get a Ryobi drill and a two pack of 4 Ah batteries at Home Depot and you'll never want to go back to using a corded drill. I can't remember the last time I used a corded drill, but it has to be decades ago.
I thought I was gonna be proud of ya with only two back-ups to the door, but NO, took three LOL.......I'm too cheap to buy cord-less stuff too, so you are not the only one. For one thing, battery replacements are almost expensive as the tool itself.. What no lock washers? Then why not Loctite? Also, it might pay you to get a multiple plug adapter for the end of your cord, then you could also plug in a "drop light" along with your drill and one other powered gadget, then the dark would not matter as much and could come in handy with the short days of winter approaching. . I'd of also got flat head screws, but that is just me, plus you might not have a big enough drill with you to make a countersink for the screw. But if your repair works, that is really all that counts.. No one sees them but you anyway. /// What is funny, the load that you hauling looks like it could be hauled better in a dry van but I'm only on the inside looking out LOL....
If you run across an ACE hardware or True Value hardware, you should be able to buy bolt & washers individually. I would use the external Star washers on that and Nylon nuts, cause they stay tight.
Yep Dan The wireless mike is AOK ! Were you a mechanic in another life ? Ive worked on trucks and cars and Equip most of my life and you have that fixem mentality ! Great videos been watching for a few years ! PEACE
Call it "old school" not cheap, battery stuff-if you use it enough- is fine, but you drive for a living and hopefully a roadside repair is an exception, not constant. Put a drop of blue locktite on the bolt threads and drive!
Your being cheap works in you favor. I have gone through a solid 200 dollars in batteries for cordless drills in 10 years. I just so see the cost being worth the cordless. I use my corded drill alot
Hey did you see my question on tarpping? Let’s say you have a Saratoga Trailer. So all you haul will be covered correct? So do you charge everyone a covered load price? You said last posting if they don’t pay they don’t get tarped. How does that work? Thanks Dan
Personally I only care when and if they can park in a spot where a truck can’t park. For example I hate when a bobtail takes up a truck spot when there is bobtail parking available. Rude and selfish.

It's still amazing how clear that microphone is without picking up the background noises.
Audio sounds great Dan 👌

Yes, always used nyloc nuts on the race car, should be good enough for a big truck.

The Guy knows how to handle the forklift. Pretty busy loading dock, fun to watch!
Another good roadside repair. Wireless mike is working great. See you tomorrow ....
Thanks for the video Dan, until next time, take care.

Good job Mr Dan & the cordless microphone works great ! 👍🏼

That mike is so good compared to anything else I’ve heard.
Good repair video
You’re a very well qualified driver/mechanic. You have to be when you’re maintaining your own truck.
I'm I the only one who watches them loading and thinks to myself where and how many straps I would use. lol Guess it's the old flat bedder in me. Be safe out there driver.
THANKS 4 THE VIDEO DAN
Yeah - definitely going to want the lock washers. Sure appreciate your efforts on the vids, Dan!
Good video safe travels dan

Yep I try those Air Craft lock nuts when I can find the. But that shud get you up and runnin!
I have loaded and unloaded there several times. Nice place in my opinion.

Good job dan.
Where did the satellite antenna go ?
I saw you at 69 and 20 today getting on south bound ramp. Taking my kids to school before I started my milk route. They thought it was cool I saw you

The snow is coming, uggh

Cool stuff Dan 👍
Like that mic sounds great, good job on the door, pull toy here
Yep Dan The wireless mike is AOK ! Were you a mechanic in another life ? Ive worked on trucks and cars and Equip most of my life and you have that fixem mentality ! Great videos been watching for a few years ! PEACE
Great video Dan that Mic does a really good job it seems to cut down on the back ground noise have a safe trip.
D@n you can always get some nylex nuts down the road, that new mic is doing a marvellous job so clear
Nice haircut Dan. I like the milk crate idea. What’s under the tarp. Is it felt squares, carpet samples or something else. Good stuff Dan
I think it is square carpet pieces.
Thanks, I think so.
Thanks Dan
Good video and sound, mic works great...
That's the I-196 rest area, about an hour from my house.
should of looked for neoprene locking nuts, no lock washer needed
Call it "old school" not cheap, battery stuff-if you use it enough- is fine, but you drive for a living and hopefully a roadside repair is an exception, not constant. Put a drop of blue locktite on the bolt threads and drive!
That wireless mic works great!!
It a wonder those welds have lasted this long. Drive safe.
I would have used pop rivets. You can wack those threads with a hammer so the nuts don't vibrate off.
I notice the box is sagging about an inch from back wall to door. Might be worthwhile to look at your mounts.
Trains, we need trains! 😁
in the next video u do could u give some tips and tricks that if someone wants get into hauling a flat beds
You should check your exhaust , the driver of the blue Pete 379 is kinda allergic to your emissions...had to sneeze several times ;)
Your being cheap works in you favor. I have gone through a solid 200 dollars in batteries for cordless drills in 10 years. I just so see the cost being worth the cordless. I use my corded drill alot
Was the truck stop in Greenville Illinois
Dan does it help when I wiggle my chair to help you get lined up when backing?
Use"lock-tite" or super-glue on the screws. No need for the lock washers.
As always 👍🏼

J Bar I don’t understand your answer?
What numbers?
J Bar oh I see.
That I get thank you.
FWIW Dan, I grew up in Illinois and I always heard it pronounced van-day-lee-a....
Don't you have any locktite ?
Hey Dan, curious as to your opinion, do you not like when motorhomes/rvs take a truck parking spot?
Personally I only care when and if they can park in a spot where a truck can’t park. For example I hate when a bobtail takes up a truck spot when there is bobtail parking available. Rude and selfish.
@@kcgibbs Makes sense! Thanks for responding.
no lock nuts either?
Van-DALE-ya. I think it is.
I’ve loaded there before. Not my favorite stuff to haul. 😜
im looking for a trucking companie with 80s style font with dark blue and lite purple any info of the name well be great.
Need drill and use rivets buddy
👍. 👍. 👌
Do you ever deliver north or grand rapids in the Muskegon area? That's where I'm from. Always been interested in getting into trucking. Flatbed.
Get some red locative you won’t need lock washers
👍😎👍
Jb bunt intermodal
Its pronounced VAN-DALE-YA, LOL, thought i'd help ya out
Driving a CB like that onto a trailer wouldn't be allowed in the EU. put 2/3 of a wheel over the edge and a potential fatal accident
Being cheap with tools will cost you more in the long run.
Van-dale-ya
John Mills Nice tractor!
Thanks
Iam in Grand Rapids
second!
