I haven't even watched the whole video yet, but I'm so in love with how you put the wonder clips around your magnetic bowl. It's so cute and makes them so handy! You inspired my whole quilt studio single-handedly, now you're inspiring how I use and display my notions. Thank you for being so dang organized. You cannot imagine how it has helped me conquer my mess. And, I'm being 100% serious. You may think it's just a room tour, but it's been life-changing for me.
Thank you Erica! I used a zipper for the first time this week. I watched your other tutorial on the zipper pouch. Two zippers wow! I am sure I can do this. Thank you again! God Bless you and yours.
great tutorial, I was able to finally comprehend the process of this dble zip bag. I also loved that I was able to pause and work on my project while creating my project
Adorable little bags multi purpose. You make it look so simple, thank you for sharing. I love the squishy bag as well and have some supplies to give it a go. Loads of inspiration in your videos. Keep the videos coming! ❤
Thanks for the tutorial. I made one of these yesterday. Super cute bag. What I struggled was the box corners. I prefer doing boxing a different way. Also, I really love the zipper tabs. I don’t like how the top zipper looks in its ends after finishing the bag. Looks a little bulky on the ends. Couldn’t figure out how to lay it so it looks nice and clean. Other than those two things, beautiful pattern and fast sew! Thank you Erica❤️
I prefer doing the boxed corners my normal way as well. Every now and then I like to show alternate ways to do things, but this one isn't my favorite. For the zipper you can definitely put tabs on the ends if you prefer that, and I've found if you fold the teeth in towards the lining when sewing the layers together the zipper tends to lie flatter.
I finally finished my double zipper bag. I agree with you...I should have done your boxed bottom versus the one in this pattern. I do not think my bottom corners boxed very well. But my first one is finished and on its way to its recipient. So thank you for the pattern and the continued inspiration. I wish I had your coordinated color palette.
Love love love this tutorial! I can’t thank you enough for doing so many awesome sewing tutorials, you have literally taught me to sew. You are brilliant and I really appreciate you and the effort you put into your videos. So excited to see what your next sewing tutorial will be?!?!
I sure thank you for taking the time to make a video on how to make this darling bag, I'm going to make one for everyone for Christmas and put a little surprise gift inside for each one :) I adore seeing your "assistant" close by ;) All the best to you and thanks again!! :)
Erica, thanks for answering my question ,that’s very kind of you even though I didn’t spell the word correctly.now I do understand how and when to apply the batting.keep up your good work. Thanks again
I just love these! You do such beautiful work and make it look so easy. I've had a sewing machine for three years and have only made three projects on it. I don't know why I'm so scared of it, haha! I have about 3 totes of material that I've purchased over the past few years. I seriously need to just start. Thank-you for your creativity and inspiration!
Just finished my first one. I messed up a lot and had to rip out lots of stitches but I got it done and now I’m excited to make more for my girls . Thanks for the tutorial 😀
I think you had a little helper 😺 I just purchased this pattern. I love that you provide a video too. I think these would make great gifts. Thank you for sharing.
I love these Erica! I must admit that zippers are not my favourite job, I'm never totally happy with the ends...But I love the finished article. Extra zips are handy too. Xx btw, that's my favourite boxing method, I find it easier to see the seams for matching! Thank you again.
Love, love, love the bag and your tutorial. I make bags all of the time and you explained the process perfectly! I can tell you are a teacher. Really cute bag and now I want to make some!!! :)
Enjoying your tutorials. Would like you to do one on how to make make and female wallets. Love that you give the instructions and measurements other than pdf since I don't have a computer so I'm unable to print. Thanks. Have a blessed day
Wow!! Ive been toying with the idea of making my own large camera bag, I want something beautiful, efficient and over the shoulder so I can easily access my lenses, I've been worried about zippers but you made it look so easy!! Thank you, I may just have to plan out something now!
Just finished making my first one finally. I’ve been wanting to for awhile. I was going to keep it for myself but I think my daughter would like it. Now to start on one for my daughter in law. If I knew how to add a pic I would but 🤷🏻♀️! Lol
Hi Erica, I love your tutorial and have tried the bag several times and am almost getting there! I would however appreciate any suggestion you could give me about zipper placement so that the zip pulls end up on the right side. Mine are not ending up on the same side - I am obviously directionally challenged. Thank you!
Thanks for the tutorial 😀!! I'm making this for my G-Daughter who's coming of age (get it? LOL). Using PUL as my liner. It's really so cute & I believe she will use it. 💖 TA !!!
Thank you Erica for the wonderful tutorial ❤ ...I just made a pouch and it turned out pretty well ..just one question , are there 4 lining pieces ( 2 white and 2 pink pieces ) because in the description it mentions only 2 lining pieces ..thank you and greetings from India
Yes, 2 white and 2 pink, but they are listed separately in the description so: FROM LINING FABRIC CUT: 2 - 8" x 11" (pink) 1 - 6" x 11" (white) 1 - 7" x 11" (white)
@@erica_arndt , thank you so much Erica for your reply , it is of great help ...I have also made fabric scrap organising bin which also turned out good and in the process of making QAYG zipper tote bag ..thank you once again ..just love your tutorials 😍....you keep inspiring and teaching me as I am new to sewing
Love your videos Erica, I have learnt so much from you. I am wondering if you could put a strap on this bag and if so how you would do it? Perhaps with a tab and D ring either side and then a long strap?
Yes, for sure! you would just place the strap on one of the outside panels (with the D-ring already on it), raw edges lining up with the raw edge of the bag. Then when you sew the outside panels together the strap will be included. :) Kind of like this bag: ua-cam.com/video/VbzEAweKAyM/v-deo.html
Ok, so...confession time! I saw this video pop up in my feed and got SO excited...that I went out and bought 9” zippers before reading the information - EEK!! Can the bag be modified to accommodate my 9” zippers? How would I go about doing that? Thanks! I LOVE your videos!
Oh no! Yes, you can you will want to add tabs to both the front pocket and top zipper pouch to make them 11" long. Then just sew them in as I show in the video.
Erica I wanted to say I was sorry for getting ill... lol I watched another video and figured out what I was doing wrong.. I was putting all the lining pieces together when the whole thing is sewn together... I did want to tell you this is the easy pouch (now) lol that I have found with the double zippers.. Thank you and again I am so sorry ... I am going to delete that message below.. :)
Um, there are no fleas to my knowledge :) If you mean fleece or batting, I apologize, I updated the description to tell how to do that. For some reason that part got deleted out of the video.
Hi Erica, I have made several of your bags and love them all! Just a quick question...when and to which side did you add the batting? I replayed the video and didn't catch that part. At one point it looked like it was sandwiched in-between the front panel with the zipper front?
I'm sorry I think I forgot to show it in the video for some reason. Right after I cut all of the little corners out of the bottom, I used 505 spray adhesive to secure the batting to the outside front pocket and outside back of the bag.
Thank You for making this video. I wanted to make a small 2 zipper bag for my granddaughter and this is perfect. Only thing is I’m going to add a D-ring n 1 of the side seam to attach a wristlet. Question with that should I sew the tab for the D-ring through all side seam layers or just for the outside material. Thank You again. ~gwen~
Hi, Sorry for some reason the clip with me attaching the batting to the bag got deleted. Right after I cut all of the little corners out of the bottoms, I used 505 spray adhesive to secure a piece of batting to the outside front pocket and the other one to the outside back of the bag.
Hi. I have been sewing along with you for two years. I am wondering what sewing machine you would recommend, as I am in the market for a new one. Thank you.
When do the batting pieces get sewed in? I’m trying to find that and I’m lost! HELP. Ok, I just saw the note about batting. I had to disassemble and wasted hours and a lot of thread. I’m not happy.
Ive been watching tons of videos for single, double zipper pouches, small and large totes and the thing striking me is why bother making end tabs for zipper if putting zipper all the way inside.Im struggling having wonking and tuckedin zipper ends and today now realized from now on those zipper tabs are only going on half way so that im only dealing with fabric in all my seams?! has no one done or thought of that? Im tryng it because none of my bags iwth zippers all the way to the end look nice flipped.
I have made two bags so far. They turned out very nice but for some reason, I end up with 7.5 inches long instead of 8. I cut all the pieces according to the instructions but I can't figure out why this is happening. Any ideas?
Hi Janice, So the bag is 8” when it isn’t sewn together, by the time you sew it, it will finish at about 7-1/2” because the seams take away about 1”. It kind of depends on your seam allowance, some people do a bit more or less depending on your zipper foot, etc.
Hi Erica, I am new to zippered pouches and would like to try yours out. I know you said the batting part was deleted - could you please tell me when and how to add the batting? Thanks so much.

I added the batting to the outside layer, the back of the front panel.
If you put it on the back of the front panel when you open the zipper wouldn’t it open to the batting?
I love these!! I think putting a handle on it would be cute as well
Yes you could easily put a little side handle on it as well!
