The North Yorkshire Moors Railway has hired in the Scottish Railway Preservation Society's class 37 locomotive number 37403 "Isle of Mull".
The British Rail blue locomotive can be seen plying its trade - and hopefully generating the NYMR a healthy return - as it runs the length of the line between Pickering and Whitby throughout the summer season.
The final 6 miles 24 chains of the route from Grosmont to Whitby is part of Network Rail's Esk Valley Line. In today's video we see 37403 in action on this part of the main line, as it trundles backwards and forwards for the four return journeys of the day.
We also pause to consider the spectacular beauty of this part of North Yorkshire.
