  • This is one of the easiest methods we use to safely move and set massive rocks gently onto pond liner.
Using this rock strapping technique will save time from having to get a strap out from under a rock after setting it, and we all know we need more time!!

Thanks for sharing your pro knowledge. Wish I had known about this technique sooner to eliminate pinched straps and risking holes in the liner.

Thank you for the info! Would you use the same method to move mature palms trees; in 36-40in boxes?? Would you strap the base of the trunk?

Very helpful and was wondering if you guys had a method for strapping flat boulders for stepping stones?

That's the easiest strap we do. Take a closed loop and lay it down. Set the corners of the rock on top of the loop so that when you draw one side of the loop under the other side the cinch is on top of the boulder,
      I'll shoot a UA-cam short for you.

    Hi Karl.
We are using granite boulders. The big ones are 2 tonnes. Or say 6000lbs.
What size excavator should I be using?

Rule of thumb is minimum 3x the weight of the biggest rock 🪨
A 5500 pound mini maxes out at about 1400 pounds, a Cat 308 is minimum for 6k#'s and will require good skill.
      If I were setting a 6k# rock, I'd be on a 24k# machine.
