This week we finish the bed of the Porsche Cayenne truck. We modify the original hatch of the Porsche Cayenne to work as a tailgate for the pick up truck, then we line the truck bed with raptor liner for a clean look.

All you needed to do for the tailgate was to have a nautilus shaped cam on each side that lifts the tailgate up and back 2 inches as it opens. This means that the parts that would mash into each other will together move up and back from the area where they would normally bump uglies.
A cam is a wildly cool idea!!

It does look good though. Actually has the whole truck bed line look and all. The spare tire is a little on the too much side but is a useful addition so it works. I wouldnt put any kinda camper on it myself but i think porsche needs to throw you all some cash for a good idea, design and follow up with the build. If you all put the actual bumped design as the bed floor like normal beds and sides tucked inside a little with a wheel well hump than itd be a regular short bed truck..

Such a cool Portruck 😁 maybe consider putting some tiedowns in the bed so when it’s used as a truck without camper it will be super functional

strangely this is 4th Porsche truck I've seen, but its by far the best. I do wonder if you could have done some cubbies in the inner bed sides so you could store things like jumper cables and tow straps, or would the camper shell have blocked that?

Loving this project! Personally I despise trucks and I don't get why Porsche ever decided to do an SUV but this is just the right amount of mental for me... Well done! For me the TUNE camper is too square for the Porsche though, but I guess a free camper is a free camper. All in all I'm very impressed this came out this good looking! Like Porsche was having this option in mind when designing the cayenne

8:00 you could've done a latch on the side for the tailgate, so it opens like a door, maybe cutting it in half so it's like some mini's, it would've been cool, i didn't finish this video yet but i guess gav already found a solution and got it nicely done!

You could of made the tail gate swing open from the side like a door.
It would have been hard to fit side hinges based on what we found

In my personal opinion the spare tire mount is kinda ruining it, I'd ditch it.
With the camper on it’ll tie together better. Have to have it for when we get a flat it doesn’t mount under the bed like a real truck 🥲

Not sure if we could get away with this conversion in the Uk . Its quite amazing what you can do with a grinder and welder. I find like you a good coat of looking at can solve a lot of problems .Cheers from the uk.
