Yup. And also useful for when you don't have your personal hangar located at that destination. There will be plenty of people visiting or travelling between places where they will want to quickly access a vehicle and not go through the waiting for the ship to raise/lower.
It has also been a concern for me on the Freight Management Terminal that you need to CHOOSE the box sizes. This would mean that one will need to become a true spacial expert in order to chose the correct number and size boxes for each type of cargo ship one is loading. I truly hope this gets addressed with a more intuitive method going forward. Maybe alongside the crazy autoloading timers (roughly 5.8hours to have a C2 loaded automatically). Lots to tweak and adjust. I am interested, with some trepidation, to see how this all plays out. Great vid and thoughts as always!
I'm pumped for the change. The freight management terminals seem really smooth from the images I've seen, but I would have never suspected you would have to specify the container sized when buying, though I guess it could make sense.
It makes sense physically that cargo box allocation happens at the time of purchase, not at the freight mgmt terminal, though the latter would be more convenient. Perhaps it will be possible to transfer bulk items between different sized SCU boxes eventually.
Hopefully the freight management terminals will eventually allow more options when it comes to selecting combinations of container size.... although presumably you could order e.g. 16 SCU containers, then re-store one of them and then re-select that 16SCU in 4x4SCU containers or 8x2 (etc.)
Keep up the good coverage. Sadly even if I had EVO I can't do much in game right now because my cockpit build is coming across more issues than I expected. Then again I did mount a minifridge in my dash for convenience. lol
I know cargo, the freight management terminal, etc. are a big part of the Personal Hangars, but honestly, when 3.24 goes live, I'm going to spend the first hour reapply all my paints, components, and weapons to all my ships and vehicles. From the same place, thank the gods! Then I'm going to spend the rest of the day... or two... decorating it. I'll be setting up a bar in the corner.
I've heard mixed things about the Fright Management Terminal from others as well. 🤔 But for a first Evocati build I'm glad that at least leaving the hangar worked lol
That freight management terminal is the most drastic change I think, although these personal hangars could turn out to be one hell of a shift since I think a large chunk of people will be assigned larger hangars than their daily ship needs - Imagine if tons of people fly a Spirit daily, but also own a Hercules. They'll be assigned a Hercules sized hangar on their home planet.
I hope they give some love to the freight management terminal so we can choose specific sizes of boxes rather than just buy x number of scu, like if I want 4x32scu crates and 6x16scu crates.
Everything sounds rough so far. I think the freight management terminals could be nice to start, but needs more work. Hangars finally... been a long wait.
I saw the pictures of the furnitures being able to snap to the grid of ships. Im curious if now ship components and 1/8th boxes can now snap to the grid or not.
I understand what they are trying to get but I felt the inventory was very clunky and not intuitive also felt it needed one of the inventory terminals in the personal hangar. The freight management needs some work too. I did get to see the ship elevator moving before the inevitable 30K. Fingers crossed they get to the most important issues and we get another attempt to try it.
I hope that they improve the UI of the freight management terminals and the item banks, because these will be the primary inventory UI going forward and they should at least have the capabilities of the old inventory.
I sometimes get seemingly infinite loading screens on other terminals in the PTU, usually to do with a purchase. Not sure if something similar is happening with the freight management terminal or not.
I don't run a lot of freight, but it sounds like the Freight Management Terminal is getting some much needed love. Tbh I'd rather see more mobiglass apps for these things, but I could see a design case for using terminals especially if the user wanted to remain anonymous or even spoof who they were.
The one thing I never understood about adding the freight management terminals, is what functional point the TDD terminals or cargo decks are supposed to serve in universe now. Why can't we sell and buy on the terminal in our hanger since we're already offloading into the station? Why aren't bulk materials loaded and unloaded from the cargo ~~dock~~ deck?
I'd be nice when 3.24 enters the PTU, as I am curious about the look and feel of the freight management terminal, as well as how we'll spawn and load cargo from non-personal hangars.
Im still not quite sure whether i will like the whole new cargo/inventory system, but as long as the UI for the freight management terminals and the item retrieval are well designed and efficient to use that would be a good aign
I do like the idea of the freight management terminal and the storage access terminal, but I really hope they add a search function soon. Inventory is a mess in SC.
CIG is sure making it tedious to have fun. Freight management terminals will specify the size of containers? They should be in predetermined case sizes. That could make it so cargo missions can only be performed by people with the correct size ship. If it only comes in 16SCU crates, you would not be able to use a RAFT. I know this is testing for the personal hangars but I hope that is not how it is done for cargo missions.
I got stuck not being able to claim ships, then got the 30009 and battled that for abit.. pretty rough.. Lots more steps to get inventory items.....not good...
It would be funny if the freight management terminal had a 30k error code on its screen. A legacy easter egg when the game is finally done to show people what it was like.
There were a number of issues with the build and the freight management terminal was just one of them. They'll eventually get fixed, but no one should be going into an evo build expecting everything to work out the gate.
Sorry you were having issues with the freight management terminals. For me I had some success, but as you identified having to consider your cargo container sizes during purchase is quite limiting. I was hoping for some mechanism to resize them, but no joy.
I'm looking forward to FMT because my groove is moving goods around in the game. During Freedays I spent a lot of time in a Hull C trying to make enough money to fill the Hull C up. It was the fastest I have ever made UEC!!! The issues I had, was trying to find enough goods. and then finding a place to sell the goods when they stopped buying. and trying to dock! I am curious to the day when I have a large cargo ship and I am moving cargo into my hanger. My C8R can only hold so much.😆😅🤣 Another issues is SIG has made many jobs take much much too long. To the point, where its not worth doing the job. FMT could be one of those jobs! I keep hearing that I will make more money doing it myself. But so far the PTU patches makes a task over profetable and a year later, its worthless. However, I have hope that these issues will get fixed when game Engine work becomes minor and content become major.
I have hope that they will adjust the freight management terminal to not make things so complex as it could drive some players from the game as loading a ship should not be a janky 3D tetris where you get suck with cargo in container sizes that turn out to not be what you need to get everything to fit on the cargo grid.
Sometimes I wish the crybabies on Spectrum had a perspective on what the early Evocati tests play like. Mind you, hoping that it might make them less of a crybaby is probably wishful thinking. It might well serve to give them something else to cry about, much like the meltdown over cargo load time initial numbers that they've found out about. I knew this was coming, and part of me wishes I could stand and watch with satisfaction as they freak out at the freight management terminal.
An inventory wipe before 3.24 would suck. I might accept one for 4.0, and finally one for 1.0, but I would like a chance to keep or insure some of the things I have bought in game during the extended alpha phase. Especially with how the price of certain ships went up 700%. I don't think they should wipe 3.24 because sorting and dealing with large inventory should be part of the test, and I have so many bits of armour and guns from a year of bunker and fps missions now. I hope the loading kiosks don't bug out on me and go infinite.
I really wonder where this game is heading some times. I love detailed logistics stuff like this, but I will not be doing any of it if it all culminates in flying with a flight model from Starfield, or engaging in FPS combat straight out of CoD. Either the whole game needs to be sim-ish, or they need to streamline things greatly to support the gamified systems we interact with for the core functions of space flight and FPS combat. This half way house will just annoy everyone but at different points of the game. Oh, and, freight management terminal ;)
Well there is a reason why they are pushing stuff into Evocati after all it is intresting that the freight Management Terminals were the ony dieing so often but thats to be expected honestly
I'll be honest; I barely used the freight management terminals in previous builds, so I'll withhold comment on the bugs. While I have seen some Evocati moan about the personal inventory kiosks, I am kind of hoping they are just an interim mechanic while they refine it. That drawer system doesn't sound fun.
Lately I have had problems with ships falling through the floor when spawned. They better Fix that before Implementing freight management. Otherwise, I fear ships that have been loaded will Somehow wiggle through the floor. Bye bye cargo.
It seems a complete waste of time to select container sizes at purchase? At most you’d think to select the ship to have it automatically determine container sizes. Freight management system is going to need a lot of work. Plus….5 hours to auto load a C2??? Ugh.
Can hardly wait to get my hands on that freight management terminal
It will be interesting to see all the controls coming with the freight management terminals in the hangars.
It's going to be fun figuring out box sizes at the Freight management terminal!
Using the ASOP terminals before getting on the elevator to your hangar tends to mean not having to wait once you get there, so they're still useful.
Yup. And also useful for when you don't have your personal hangar located at that destination. There will be plenty of people visiting or travelling between places where they will want to quickly access a vehicle and not go through the waiting for the ship to raise/lower.

Great vid and thoughts as always!
That Freight Management Terminal will be a game in itself :D
I'm pumped for the change. The freight management terminals seem really smooth from the images I've seen, but I would have never suspected you would have to specify the container sized when buying, though I guess it could make sense.
Looking forward to trying out the freight management terminal myself.
Thanks for your testing Ray! Looks like the Freight Management Terminal is suffering the blunt of the problems.
Freight terminals with 30k errors as someone else mentioned would be hilarious. Support that idea.
It makes sense physically that cargo box allocation happens at the time of purchase, not at the freight mgmt terminal, though the latter would be more convenient. Perhaps it will be possible to transfer bulk items between different sized SCU boxes eventually.

I had the ship rising on the elevator animation, very nice. The freight management terminals are my next test, lets see if they fixed the ILS
the freight management terminal was a big change so it makes sense that it causes a lot of issues like infinite loading
I've heard mixed things about the Fright Management Terminal from others as well. 🤔 But for a first Evocati build I'm glad that at least leaving the hangar worked lol

Being able to talk about Evocati now is great! Infinite loading screen on the freight management terminal - not so great!
Cant wait to use the freight management terminal by myself in the PTU
I hope they give some love to the freight management terminal so we can choose specific sizes of boxes rather than just buy x number of scu, like if I want 4x32scu crates and 6x16scu crates.
That is in
@@tullan1652 brilliant news, I must have misunderstood or gotten some bad info
Another good video. I hope the infinite loading screens at the Item Kiosks get fixed soon!
Hype to see the new UI of the freight management terminals.
Everything sounds rough so far. I think the freight management terminals could be nice to start, but needs more work. Hangars finally... been a long wait.
hopefully the freight management terminals will be smart enough to automatically select the correct size boxes needed to fill any given ship.
Going to be an interesting ptu indeed. Getting the feel seems a big portion still.
I saw the pictures of the furnitures being able to snap to the grid of ships. Im curious if now ship components and 1/8th boxes can now snap to the grid or not.

Getting ready to play freight management terminal Tetris in 3.24.
Nice to see inventory working so well but not surprising freight management is in a tier 0 or tier 0.5 state.
I sometimes get seemingly infinite loading screens on other terminals in the PTU, usually to do with a purchase. Not sure if something similar is happening with the freight management terminal or not.
The freight management screen 😮

Tbh I'd rather see more mobiglass apps for these things, but I could see a design case for using terminals especially if the user wanted to remain anonymous or even spoof who they were.
I also expected container size to be in the freight management terminal, not the trade terminals. Refineries may be interesting.

It always feels like cig let their ux team look at their screens (like the freight management terminals) after they've build them
I do like the idea of the freight management terminal and the storage access terminal, but I really hope they add a search function soon. Inventory is a mess in SC.
Testing is a needed hurdle to overcome, especially with the freight management terminals giving players a hard time.
I'm curious about the fright management terminal and if it will glitch out like the back pack reloading.
Freight Management terminals with infinite loading screens… sounds fun.
The freight management terminals seem janky. I remember having issues with asops so hopefully they fix it in time. Keep up the great work
Want to see the new UI of the freight management terminals, this obviously has changed somehow since the sneak peak we saw a while ago
Have player beacons (Rescue, Transport, etc) been restored to their previous 3.22 functionality?
Looking forward to the freight management terminal. Not looking forward to the personal inventory changes
Are there freight elevators in every hanger at every location?

I would expect the first iteration of the Freight Management Terminal to be janky but I believe it will get better over time.
It would be funny if the freight management terminal had a 30k error code on its screen. A legacy easter egg when the game is finally done to show people what it was like.

Hangar queues will be a thing now tho no? Specially after server ssssmashing
are their multiple Freight Management Terminals?
Seems like the freight management terminal as well as the rest of the cargo update still need a lot of time in the oven.
Guess freight management will be the new gameplay loop for some time to come
I look forward to seeing worrying freight management terminals
At first I was confused why everyone wrote Freight Management Terminal in their comment, but then I noticed the gieaway.
Infinite was at the freight management terminal.
Sorry you were having issues with the freight management terminals. For me I had some success, but as you identified having to consider your cargo container sizes during purchase is quite limiting. I was hoping for some mechanism to resize them, but no joy.

Ready for that Zeus

I hope they'd given more thought into the ui of the freight management terminal, i hate the ASOPs, they're so tedious to navigate through
The Freight Management Terminal should work better soon as they already have similar tools in game already.
Hope I don't get those same problems at the freight management terminals

i need thode cargo missions

This game is getting real tedious, now the freight management terminal ...great
There is no way 4.0 is coming this year brother...and if it does somehow make it, we are in for a rougher 3.18
My money is late February 4.0 evocati at the earliest
We've had both server meshing and Pyro this year, so where's the logic in doubting we'll get server meshing and Pyro this year?
@@LucidStrike Im talking PU man, not 4 hours in Evo. Have you not been following the development?

The lack of a search feature on the item banks is such a head-scratcher, disappointing, and so on brand for CIG.
