Black Panther and Spiderman are absolutely A/S tier. They just have an extremely high skill gap/difficult to play. They're kit allows them to 1 tap on ability cycle, with insane dps. You play them like assassins, not like sustained damage soldiers.
Spider man is ATLEAST A TIER. If not S tier. There is no hero who can dive backline in and out so fast, and a good spider man, u almost cant see him coming. But imo his animation not fluid when he swings, kinda clunky. Idk. But strong hero 100% not D Tier lol

This tier list shouldn't be "oh... well if you can't play him well, he sucks", it should be all characters judged by maximum skill by the player, no? "Black panther is bad" proceeds to miss (or waste) dash, miss the 2nd spear, MISS the twirl, then just walk around in a open area, dies, uses ult on FULL HP enemies, then complains???? So instead the tierlist is just which character is the combination of being the easiest to play while still being strong at the top? I feel you should have specified this would be a tier list based on ease of play and payoff versus power.
The funny thing about Hulk is...in the player survey from the Alpha test, I gave a bunch of suggestions about ways to improve him. One of my suggestions was that landing from a jump should cause a small amount of damage or disruption in the landing zone. And guess what...that's VERY similar to a certain ability that Venom now has! I think an ability like that belongs on Hulk, who should be a very disruptive influence to nearby enemies. I'm okay with Spider-Man being a high-learning-curve hero...but even so, I think he needs a few tweaks. Spider-Sense should provide an enemy outline, sort of like Punisher's passive. The web-zip should either have a shorter cooldown (I say 6 seconds instead of 8) or should have 2 charges that replenish over time and I feel like he should have a fast "charge" type of attack (Swinging Web Kick) that deals some damage to enemies in its path while repositioning him. Being almost entirely melee-dependent to get value makes it really tough to feel like you're accomplishing anything as Spidey. Punisher still needs to have his damage nerfed a bit. It's just way too easy for him to melt any other character from any range.
I super appreciate that this is targeted at average skilled gamers(most of the player base), most tier lists focus on the top 1%. Subbing for that reason alone.
Very respectful ranking for adam warlock, not much of a healer player myself but being such a fan of the character I had to give him a go and learning his playstyle has been awesome, have clutched a few games with his Ult too!
Ive played spiderman a lot and i always get tons of kills hos playstyle is an in and out like so you spider trace and web pull to a healer or duelist off of position you uppercut him and finish him with fists and then swing to get out and ruin the enemied healing and dps
I’ve been finding a lot of success with spider man in competitive especially, I just went 41 and 4 with spider man, I also find that spider man is a good hitscan alternative to flying characters, if you hit a flying character like iron man he’s basically dead with your web zip ability
The only thing I disagree with is Groot and Peny. Peny's kits has extremly high potential but is extremly hard to use and Grot should be B tier just beccause how powerful his matchup with Rocket Racoon is
Such a big miss with Black Panther, you can one shot entire teams off cooldown if you actually learn how to do his combos (aslong as they aren't flying). For a dive comp he fits into it btter than any other dps.

The black panther hate is crazy tbh because realistically 99% of people are playing him wrong he’s a dash rest hero and he achieves that goal with amazing abilities damage. Also everything is AOE like i picked him up and immediately got reminded of a league of legends character that’s whole thing is dashing and all the damage packed into that ability and it’s crazy.
I think the point of this list is in the hands of an AVERAGE player. BP just doesn’t have the utility to compete with most of the cast. You’ll see a good BP once every hundred games or so
Been playing Overwatch since 2017, used to play Apex for many years, and played Evolve before all that. Imo Black Panther isn't a bad character, the playerbase is just bad at him and other characters are significantly easier to play. Black Panther has a very high skill ceiling and a very low skill floor, and is a very feast or famine character. If you can really nail his mechanics to keep infinite dashes up and know how / when to engage / disengage, you can really overwhelm your opponents and hold them in their spawn. If you mess up his refreshable dash a single time though you're dead, unless you still have the other dash to get out, which you pretty much have to. I also think as the game goes on he'll become even harder to play when players realize they can counter him heavily if they just make him miss refreshing his dash, with a movement ability to get out of the way, a stun, etc. That might make him bad in the future if he's in the same state and becomes too easy to counter. As of now though, with my sens turned up 2x my normal sens on specifically Black Panther (since you don't need super precise aiming on him) I'm pubstomping lobbies with constant dashing and super quick turns. People right now have no idea what to do when this overwhelming blur is just dashing through the backline squishies endlessly and no one can hit him. This goes for comp too, not just quickplay. Oh and for his ult it's not the best but to Black Panther mains they don't see it as a weak damage ult, they see it as a light damage ult that can potentially let them dash crazy through the whole team many times. Land it on squishies and they can die from 2 rapid dashes you'll execute right away.
If you want to see a good Black Panther I'd recommend Samito, an old overwatch player. I think black panther is similar to Spiderman in having a super high skill ceiling. Seeing them play Blank Panther shows what potential he could have.
Star-Lord East to pop? LOL no dude he is not. Try to shoot him down is a pain. Venom broken? Yeah no he isn’t, when your opponent’s team is there attacking you. Venom is nothing.

Black Panther is pretty good its easy to pick off characters with no movement like Mantis, Adam, Luna Snow. Which should put him way higher tbh. Also Magneto is pretty easy to play. He tanks a lot and does REALLY good damage. Imo worst character in the game is Starlord, he cant kill anything quickly, just not enough dmg. His right click should enhance his next attack to deal more damage I think.
Personally, I’m putting Peni and Starlord in B tier. RR in A tier. And Storm in S tier. Even though this list is meant for average players, I found out that if you have at least 3 people ready for a Venom dive, you save Storms boost to focus him and he’ll get melted.
I think Spiderman is underrated, -Good Burst Damage -High Mobility Spiderman can try and kill supports without risk, if spiderman manages to kill them the enemy has lower sustainability on themselves
If Youve seen Samito or Necros play black panther you know he is at least A tier, even with difficulty. As long as ur not countered, you can carry games easily. The problem is his dash doesnt connect all the time, but thats with the game being unpolished/unfinished than it being a problem with his design. People need to keep in my not everyone in the beta is coming from OW so this is peoples first Hero shooter that requires some mechanical skill and thought. Also QP games dont represent a characters true skill cieling, most arent trying that hard/ new.
Totally agreed -- both those players are extremely talented and are playing in apex tier ranked games usually with a full team stack. This tier list is for, as you mentioned, the huge amount of new players that will be playing in average level play not in the highest 0.001%!
My tier list is very different besides spider-man and hulk (they need buffs), but I’ve brung stacked teams to their knees with Namor, going from being spawn trapped to team wipes, not to mention scoring 15000+ healing with Rocket. And every teammate who played Luna Snow was straight cheecks 👎🏽 lol
I played venom for such a long time (7.1 hours/56 matches). He was so much fun but now I found a character I like using even more... Magik! She is a so much fun to use. I didn't even enjoy using her at first since I was always dying and had to run back to the fight to just die again but now that I'm a lot better, I really enjoy using her. I even wiped an entire team in just a few seconds using her ultimate. I do sometimes have to switch to venom if possible because I still play really badly if the enemy team is too good. I would put her in S tier with venom she is that good/fun to use. I also really like her outfit since it really suits her character really well and looks amazing.

I think the most baffling decision with hulk is his stun. It makes the enemy immune to damage, and it has a 3x longer cooldown than peni Parker’s, which does not make the enemy immune. My boy need a buff bad

Panther is pretty good as an anti brawl and can punish stacking really hard if you execute his ability loop properly and hit your dashes, Spider-Man just is the best for dive, if you play with a venom he can combo so easily. But if this tier list is balanced around new players I guess it makes more sense, but then I feel like Wanda would be higher

Black panther is incredibly underrated, I think he just has a high skill floor. People just arent used to his playstyle. The difficulty is closing the distance but once its closed he wrecks havoc.
I think you mean high skill ceiling, low skill floor. You can REALLY be bad if you have no idea how to make his mechanics work, but REALLY pop off if you can execute perfectly and keep infinite dashes up. I wouldn't say it's if he can close the distance since he's very mobile, it's more so maintaining those infinite dashes and knowing when to not be greedy and disengage

Iron Man may actually be the sleeper best dps in the game. His entire kit feels like an ultimate. C-Tier is far too low.

As a massive fan of Hulk from the comics I hope he gets a buff (maybe gets Venom’s health boost ability) or some massive upgrade to his damage output.

Necros is a phenomenal player! But he's also playing a VERY different game from 99.99% of players as he's playing in high-ranked 5 stack lobbies. Most people will never reach those ranks, and just want to know a general gist of how strong each character is.

I think the most baffling decision with hulk is his stun. It makes the enemy immune to damage, and it has a 3x longer cooldown than peni Parker’s, which does not make the enemy immune. My boy need a buff bad

Spiderman and black panther in D? You do know necros is rank 1 playing only spiderman and a bit of black panther. Panther is pretty good as an anti brawl and can punish stacking really hard if you execute his ability loop properly and hit your dashes, Spider-Man just is the best for dive, if you play with a venom he can combo so easily. But if this tier list is balanced around new players I guess it makes more sense, but then I feel like Wanda would be higher

Black panther is incredibly underrated, I think he just has a high skill floor. People just arent used to his playstyle. The difficulty is closing the distance but once its closed he wrecks havoc.
I think you mean high skill ceiling, low skill floor. You can REALLY be bad if you have no idea how to make his mechanics work, but REALLY pop off if you can execute perfectly and keep infinite dashes up. I wouldn't say it's if he can close the distance since he's very mobile, it's more so maintaining those infinite dashes and knowing when to not be greedy and disengage

Dude sorry but Spider-Man feels really good no way he’s in D maybe C for beginners and S for experienced players cause he is super good to play as once you master him.
I would of put Wanda above hella especially after they nerfed her I get mvp with Wanda almost every always over 25 kills and highest 42 also I feel like dr strange damage sucks
