- Hi friends! I am back with another reading wrap up for the books I read in May. I read a lot this month, but it took quite a few misses to find books I actually enjoyed. Also half the books I read were by Asian authors for AAPI month. Enjoy this chill journal with me video as I talk about my favorites from the month.

Hi there, a little tired (Bangbangcon😅) but….I had to rewind to make sure I heard you correctly. Lisa Kleypas? She is one of my favorites! I don’t read as much I used to but still one of my favorite things to do. I enjoy mystery/thriller genre the most but Lisa Kleypas is an automatic must read.
Haha yes you heard right! Lisa Kleypas is my favorite historical romance author, and the Ravenels is my favorite series of hers. So fun to meet a fellow fan :) I hope she publishes again. Do you have a favorite of hers? And any recs for mysteries and thrillers?
@@AWonderfulSheep I’ve read the Wallflower series, the Hathaways series, and yes the Ravenels. I like them all. Surprisingly, one of my favorites is a side story of the Wallflower series called Wallflower Christmas. I’m a little nervous to recommend books to you since you’re such a voracious reader. I tend to stick with authors I like when I find them. Michael Connelly, Harlan Coben, Robert Dugoni, and JD Robb (aka Nora Roberts) are some of my faves.
@@AKBangtan Oh yes, I remember the Wallflower Christmas novella. It was a nice addition to the series, and I do love a holiday story. And since I mostly read romance, I don’t know much about other genres so I would love to broaden my reading. I hadn’t heard of any of the authors you mentioned so thank you so much! Adding to my ‘to check out’ list :) And I have heard of Nora Roberts as a romance writer, did not know she had another pen name! What a prolific writer!
Aww - watching your vid was the perfect antidote to that cleaning day of mine today 😂🥰 Hehe, if you hadn't already recommended The Ministry of time to me and if i hadnt put it on the tbr, that quote - your germs are showing - would have done it, totally cracked me up 😂😂 like your idea of a daily reading journal with jotting down your thoughts etc 📚
Yes there were several moments like that scene that made me laugh. I heard some describe the book as confusing and hard to get into, but I was hooked from the beginning. Do let me know if you read it :)
I did Amy Tan in american lit class! I think we did the joy luck club. I remember enjoying it. the mother-daughter dynamics are quite relatable. Im getting all these book rec from you and i havent even finisher city of brass yet 😂
Yes! I also remember reading The Joy Luck Club in high school, it's the only book about Asian characters I remember reading for class. Hehe I hope you enjoy City of Brass. Other favs from this year I recommend are The Fox Wife and The Ministry of Time 📚💜
Oh, I forgot: love your paper rose 🌹
Thank you so much! I was quite pleased with how it turned out 🌹
