Thanks bro my timing is noisy so I found a motor for it with 101k on it mine is a 03 Ford ranger 5 speed that was a good ass truck mine got 3k on it now but since u guys are putting a motor in it thank you
Got an '01 Mazda, built in the Ford Ranger factory, 195,000 miles. Engine, other than leaking oil like crazy, seems okay, but ... I really like the lil' truck and would like to drive it another 100,000 miles. Trying to decide between pulling, then either replacing with a purchased remanuf long block, or rebuilding. What did you use for lift points? Could a person pull the engine and transmission (5 speed manual) still connected?
We bough a junkyard engine. Definitely recommend getting all new hoses and lines. You can probably get the engine and trans out if you pull the front core support. For lift points I used the factory lift point by the bellhousing and the front, i just used a bolt to the block.
Just wondering if you know what ranger 2.3 motors years can be changed mines a 2002 vin d I’ve been searching but can’t find a straight answer didn’t know if all 2.3l are the same and interchangeable for certain years thanks in advance
I have to do this job with someone and we were wondering what would be the best way to remove those bolts on top of the housing bell that you said were missing.

Beautiful don’t homie 🫵🏽🫵🏽😎👌🏽👌🏽💯👊🏽
How did you get to the torque converter nuts? I'm chnaging my transmission and having issues finding where to remove them from.
This one was a 5 speed. I would assume there has to be a inspection hole to find the nuts
Where do you losen the torque converter bolts from? I have an automatic 2.3
Sorry boss, no idea

I would assume whatever year range ur truck is. The engine should be a direct "fit". Maybe talk to some scrap yards or some forums.
Do you know the bolt size and length that hold the coil pack? There's four. Thanks.
Sorry boss i dont
that’s really weird my tran mounts are also missing

I would say the best way is to have a couple long extentions and a swivel socket. Thats usually how i do it woth other vehicles. Best of luck!!
I took the cross member off the transmission and slid the whole thing forward
How long did it take to get engine out?
About 3 hours
What was wrong with it because mine makes the same noise ? 😂 & how much was the new one ?
Definitely something in the head. My buddy never wanted to crack open the engine. The "new" engine was about 1200. Can't remember the exact amount
I need some info on how to remove the egr
Sorry to hear boss. Is it a stubborn nut?
Where did you guys bolt the chain to in order to pull the motor out?
One was on the ring bolted to the engine. And another on was just a whole into the block. We just used a bolt
@@nothinbutgoodtimes5697 where did you bolt it to the engine? I want to make sure I dont use a bolt thats too small and break something off
Use a bolt hole for the ac or Alternator. You'll be good
@@nothinbutgoodtimes5697 got it, thanks for the fast reply!
No problem bro and Good luck my guy. Dont forget to take off the oil filter housing. It will save you alot of time.
Should have replaced the slave cylinder rather than just the bearing.
never saw the fucking motor go in
