The total for the 50 envelopes challenge is correct, 1275 euros. Probably you remembered 13 something because 1378 is the total of the famous 52 weeks challenge.
Anyway, for progressive numbers challenges, like 1,2,3,4 etc., to have the total you just need to halve the total and multiply it by the sum of the highest and the lowest numbers. So for 50 you devide it by 2 and you have 25, than you add 1 and 50, which is 51. Now you multiply 51 for 25 and you have the total of 1275.
If the total is an odd number, like 51 for example, you take out the middle number, in this case 26, multiply 52(51+1) per 25, which is 1300 and add the middle number, so the total is 1326.

Lucia you are right! I had the number 1378 in my mind and couldn’t shake why I was stuck on it. So I decided to go with 1375 instead. I was thinking of the 52 week challenge. Thank you for figuring it out. I appreciate your detailed response. ☺️
