    Welcome to the wonderful world of cash stuffing. It has been a major help to me in my budgeting amd I have been able to pay off so much debt since I started last August. As a single mom, it's truly been life changing.

    Envelope hack - I would take your already made envelopes, line up the bottom holes already punched to the personal punch size (or the top holes), and then punch those envelopes with the personal size. That’ll give you extra holes on either the top or bottom, but you’ll be able to use them in both binders without needing two sets, and save you some money.

    Such a great idea to keep track of finances.
    I have the same binder Ilysse gave you. I use mine with two envelopes one for planner spending and one for iPad savings. I am fortunate my husband handles all our finances and I just take $’s out for my spending. (We are retired older couple. )
    One thing I encourage young people to do is save for retirement! I promise it will be here before you blink twice.
    Thank you for sharing!

    You should check out the Budget Mom. Her zero based budget is amazing. Also, unless you have some amazing insurance, you might want a sinking fund for your yearly deductibles. It saved me when I had a stroke two years ago.

    I’d love to see how you make the envelopes I’ve spent a fortune buying envelopes only to realize I still need more. Sometimes I’m good with using it and other times I struggle, but they do help me to stick with a budget when I’m diligent.

    Love the video and the binders/envelopes! I'd love to see a video on how you made your envelopes. I'm a newbie budgeter too, but I'm doing a cashless sort of cash envelope system. I just carry ledger cards in my wallet for each expense and deduct as I spend (sort of like a checkbook register). That way I know how much I have left to spend in a particular category, and I don't have to go to the bank every payday. Looking forward to your budgeting videos ... well, all your videos actually! :)

    Been looking at a lot of these videos too!! Been thinking about starting one as well. I saw a cool tip that if you want to mostly do card use fake money to represent how much you got in your account each pay day and separate that way so it's more visual :)

    For the zipper envelopes, you could just print on the vellum and insert it in the front of that envelope. My categories have changed quite a bit so especially while your new to it you can change it out easily if you decide to change a category.

    I definitely recommend this system, I love it helps to rein in your spending and keep you mindful of how much you are spending🙌🙌 I would use the envelopes as a dashboard inside your zipper pouches. Good luck I know it will work for you💕💕

    Just a thought…I use an extra envelope to collect any cash that I pull when my transaction is by debit/credit/store card. For example, if I used my Starbucks card for points, I then, pull the cash amount from my coffee envelope and store it in my extra envelope until I apply the money for deposit or payment. That way I don’t have loose cash floating around and still use my envelopes to limit my budget. Hope that’s not too confusing.

    I have tried to do this a few times, but I end up getting so busy that I just make sure I use cash. For me, that's still a big step forward. lol I just don't have enough categories to have more than say 4 envelopes: Groceries, Gas, "Fun", and Misc. I have a bunch of HP envelopes that I put on Medium white discs with an old classic Skinny cover. It looks good, but actually getting the cash to put in it, takes more time than I currently have. I'm hoping April will be it. My Savings and Sinking funds are digital. (YNAB)

    We are debit users and I won’t use cash so I use fake money like Monopoly money to cash stuff so I don’t have to go to the bank. The only thing I have in cash is a $1,000 emergency fund and I get $20 every two weeks from a coworker to drive her to and from work

    Most binders on Amazon that say A6 are actually personal sized. Personal size is more common than true A6 even though most products on Amazon are labeled as A6. Confusing lol

    I'm looking for a binder or wallet binder do use was my wallet and have my cash envelopes as well. I'm not sure if I want the Moterm A6 or A7. How do you like your Moterm A6?

    • @Happy2planwithDesiree
      @Happy2planwithDesiree  Рік тому +1

      I personally like the A6 because I can fit envelopes in my wallet that I don't fold...but sometimes I kind of want a smaller one. I might switch it in the future but for now I am liking the way the envelopes are in the A6
