@Ascaithe Because it's easier to make a tiger growl. Lions usually prefer solving their problems with actions rather than words, but they can sound just as ferocious if they get upset enough. Also, the growls in Lion King are heavily edited.
Lol ....yer comment is kinda funny btw ,...u know it helps me knowing, that , that literally occurred after I started getting extra attention in my mid to late twenties ...lol! ..so therefore going from 1 end of the spectrum, to the other, is some how a small relief, ...knowing how absolutely absurd and pathetic homo sapiens are , lmao!
Well yeah kind of. I mean much respect to the jaguar but you are a bit to small to offer up and real challenge to the tiger. The only challenge a jaguar can give to the tiger is which one is more beautiful. I think the tiger still wins that one but not by much. Jaguars are very beautiful animals and do rule the Americas.
They're also ridiculously intelligent hunters... However smart you might think you are, you *will* underestimate a tiger. Don't be their prey. :P There is a great book about Vladimir Markov and the tiger who killed him, titled simply "Tiger". I would highly recommend it to anyone interested in learning about the cats or about the extreme backwater parts of Russia. I don't remember the author's name off the top of my head. And funnily enough, tigers in zoos that actually *are* well-looked after and happy (zoos like that do exist!) are often very friendly animals. Much more than other wild cats. Doesn't mean they won't still eat you...
I read that book. It is absolutely awesome and is packed with so much information about tigers, as well as life in the remote wildlands of far eastern Siberia in general. It's one of my favorite books and I recommend it to anyone.
I could see why old tigers like eating humans imagine being a tiger and to your suprise your immobile prey just presents itself to you. Must be hard to pass up.
In most places in India tigers don't prefer humans because of extensive hunting in the past. But the place mentioned in the video, the sundarbans on the India Bangladesh border, is very secluded and hunting wasnt really done there so, the tigers have only ever seen humans as prey.
You know that tiger was sitting in a chair of the darkest corner of the smoked up room, slumped comfortably with a vodka bottle in one paw and the guys gun dangling in the other....
Apparently tigers are actually really well camouflaged amongst green plants since to most animals green and orange look exactly the same, we just have weird freaky ape eyes
Tigers really are magnificent and powerful beings and they should be protected and treated with respect. What would also really help the wild population is if we brought all the Tigers that are been bred in Texas and put them in the wild. And speaking of magnificent predators that should also be treated with respect can you do a video about the Mako shark?
taking the population of tiger from texas and releasing them in the wild sounds like a bad plan. their genetic history and susceptibility to the native diseases could pose a threat to the wild population
@@OOOOOO-dx7zu Now that I think about it you are probably right. But is kinda sad there's more Tigers living in horrible conditions in Texas than Tigers living free in the wild.
Tigers are magnificent and they look cool af. Look at their furs. They have 3 colours. Furs are evolved for camouflage. And if you ask me which animal you want to be if you come to world again as an animal, i will say orca or tiger. Tigers are real apex . Tiger attacks and kills. Few animals are stronger than tigers ( not lion) but they are slow af when you compare with tigers. So any animal can't kill a tiger. Like any animal can't kill an elephant. But elephant can't kill any faster animal and this is why tigers are apex and strongest land predator on the world...
Yeah, unarmed and alone we are basically Lunchables. It's only by playing to our strengths that we can overcome our weaknesses and defeat the rest of the animal kingdom.
i live in very close proximity to sundarban, and those back mask tactics aren't working anymore. Actually that was not very effective in past also as tigers are very adaptive and clever animal.bengal tigers of Sundarban have been deliberately targeting humans for last few decades may be centuries, but some actions taken to stop human animal confrontation.hope our predecessors could see this majestic animal in their natural habitat.
The problem is, a lot of modern medicine has benefited from traditional medicine, which isn't all bunk. Not all traditions are superstitions, and not all superstitions are traditional.
I've heard a conflicting version of the Tiger's revenge story. Markov was hunting and stumbled upon an abandoned boar carcass. He decided to take that as he was hungry and poor but the tiger didn't take too kindly to that and basically trashed his little cabin in the woods. Markov managed to wound it before seeking help but was turned away by everyone out of fear of the Tiger's wrath. Markov went back home and was killed by the Tiger. The same Tiger killed at least one more person before some hunters ended up killing it a little later to prevent more deaths. Moral of the story? Poaching is bad but sometimes, just like other animals, Humans have to do what they need to to survive... Especially when you live in poor region of Russia where Tiger and Human populations overlap. Markov wasn't the bad guy from what I understand, just an unfortunate soul who made a really bad decision that cost him his life.
Wow! As a tiger lover myself, I very much appreciate how you touched on the most important facts about tigers in under 10 minutes. Well done! For those curious about Markov's story, watch "Conflict Tiger | Russian Man Eating Tiger".

@John Sebba This is very true. The famous Siegfried & Roy incident in 2003 wasn't actually an attack. Some woman startled the tiger and he thought she was attacking. The tiger almost killed Roy, but he was actually trying to protect him by getting him backstage away from the "dangerous" woman. They just don't know their own power and our fragileness.
I love tigers so much. I’ve spent years working with them at wildlife sanctuaries. They’re incredible animals. Sometimes terrifying, sometimes completely stupid derps.
The story of the tiger killing the Russian tracker is recounted in the book “The Tiger” by John Vaillant. It is one of the best books I’ve ever read and now my respect and admiration for this animal is off the charts. I just saw the Siberian at the Toronto zoo and was spell bound when it walked by my quietly and nodded and blinked at me. ❤

In reference to the Sundurbans, I read that for a while the mask practice worked for a while but then ended in failure. Not surprised due to the intelligence of tigers. Also, this place is home to some giant salt water crocs. People found a tiger carcass basically bit in half on the banks several years ago.
Kenny! In case anyone wants to know, that white tiger they showed is named Kenny. It was a huge debate if he in fact had Downes Syndrome. He exhibited the characteristics, yet analyzing the chromosome made geneticists say no. He passed away a while back but I read his keepers said he was abnormally affectionate and well mannered
The story of markov is a horrifying one, pure nightmare fuel. The tiger went on to kill at least one more person, and tried killing more. There's a documentary on it, where the few remains of the victims were shown. Sad story of when poverty forces you into compromising situations. Btw, the tiger stalked markov for several days, it let him leave and waited for him to come back, definitely driven by revenge.
Never understood the preference by some for the white tigers, the pattern of the normal tiger is so much more interesting. Who'd have thought that minus working on an orange plantation, orange could be a colour of camouflage? The tiger's darker stripes blend in as shadows, the white ones like points of light, not only in the jungle, but also boreal forests (winter AND summer), and rainforests.

Ironically, in the Lion King they used the Tiger’s roar instead of the Lion
Not just louder but more ferocious and scary
It isn’t louder
Ascaithe you obviously haven’t heard an aggressive lion roar
Both cats are majestic, but tiger roars are way more consistent, terrifying and powerful. Lions sound like they are throwing up.
@Ascaithe Because it's easier to make a tiger growl. Lions usually prefer solving their problems with actions rather than words, but they can sound just as ferocious if they get upset enough.
Also, the growls in Lion King are heavily edited.

That jaguar episode: “am I a joke to you?”
"Waited between 12 and 48 hours." Had to be the world's pettiest tiger
Kirsten Taylor pettiest? Not really lol. I’d be pretty pissed off if someone shot me and stole some of my food.
I'd be pretty mad too if I were in the same situation that tiger went through.
In Russia tiger poachers you.
Petty, that tiger was fukking angry and vengeful, and I dont really feel bad for the guy.
my only question is who tf counted and how
They're also ridiculously intelligent hunters...
However smart you might think you are, you *will* underestimate a tiger. Don't be their prey. :P
There is a great book about Vladimir Markov and the tiger who killed him, titled simply "Tiger".
It has a rumour that if a tiger ald eaten human meat, it wont go for another source of meat. Idk if thia true or just some bs tho
Mako sharks are awesome! One of the only predators thay can catch a marlin
taking the population of tiger from texas and releasing them in the wild sounds like a bad plan. their genetic history and susceptibility to the native diseases could pose a threat to the wild population
@@OOOOOO-dx7zu Now that I think about it you are probably right. But is kinda sad there's more Tigers living in horrible conditions in Texas than Tigers living free in the wild.
Fang it really is....
Yep like mako sharks too
Tigers are magnificent and they look cool af.
I like ur theory.

Me: 👁👄👁
We are the most easily distracted, visually dependent animals that neither have the speed to flee nor the physical strength to fight back.
In wild circumstances, humans survive by staying together. Most fights really are a number's game. You can kill a few humans, but not all of them.
Yeah, unarmed and alone we are basically Lunchables. It's only by playing to our strengths that we can overcome our weaknesses and defeat the rest of the animal kingdom.

I love all feline species. The ways they move, their tails, everything about them is so fascinating to me. But most of them will kill you so cant have them as pets 😢
Felines wont kill you but they eat you ,😂
There's always house cats which are pretty much mini-tigers if you notice their behaviors. Cute kitty kitties! 🐱 ❤

Perhaps markov shouldn't have shot him and stole some of his kill. But I don't know the story behind it yet
Tigers are the ultimate strongest big cat.
Tigers are the most magnificent creatures I have ever seen in my entire life
Never understood the preference by some for the white tigers, the pattern of the normal tiger is so much more interesting. Who'd have thought that minus working on an orange plantation, orange could be a colour of camouflage? The tiger's darker stripes blend in as shadows, the white ones like points of light, not only in the jungle, but also boreal forests (winter AND summer), and rainforests.
