I knew all about Meep but all my children when we watched the episode fell in love with the character and couldn’t understand why anyone would want to ha*m such an innocent thing, until this scene when Meep reveals their true self. S-cared the 💩 out my husband and all six of our children with our youngest set of twins saying “Sh00t it, quick!” I almost fell off the couch laughing watching all their reactions and feelings change in the split second Meep does! 🤣 I knew it was coming at some point because I’ve got the original comics still. They don’t want one in the house now. Thing is our house is like a personal collector’s museum there’s going to be multiple versions when/if they do decide to release Toys, bears, figures etc… of the character. The Bugs s-cared them more even after its revealed that they were the good guys, they don’t want any of them in the house either. They’re all gonna get a Meep for their bedrooms as well as the living area and my office. Also seen people whining about the upgraded Sonic Screwdriver and saying that it shouldn’t have all the extra things it can do added to it! Have they not been paying attention to previous episodes and Doctors going all the way back to Tom Baker? The Doctor has repeatedly made comments and reminders to himself and the TARDIS that it needs upgrading with extra settings because it never worked on wood when it was a life or de@h situation and the only thing that was in the way was wood in some form! It’s literally one of the last things 13th said to TARDIS before her final showdown with the Master. She told the TARDIS to add a wood setting, so it would make sense that she (the TARDIS) would add other settings as well on top of it being able to work on wood now to help the Doctor if needed and they wasn’t anywhere near the TARDIS. I personally like that it’s got even more settings, it saved the Doctor’s, Meep’s, Donna’s and her whole family’s lives by being able to create the panels for them to get upstairs because the TARDIS wouldn’t have shown up due to the hos-tile action that was going on at the time in the house and on the whole street! Or has people forgotten about all the Doctors saying it needs more settings especially one for wood? 🙄🤦🏾♀️

I told myself I watched too much Owl House if I thought the cuddly creature wasn’t the bad guy. Thankfully I was as cautious with it as I was with the shapeshifters and the reality bending puppet master.
While it was obvious from the get go that Meep was gonna be evil it still brought to mind that one quote from Galaxy Quest: "Yeah sure they're cute now. But in a second they're gonna get mean. They're gonna get ugly somehow. And there's gonna be a million more of them."
I was thinking Phineas and Ferb. "Hey cutie what are a Meep?" "Meep!" "Holy cats! He is a Meep." "Meep" "And an evil Meep at that." I think an alternate title should be. "You can't have any pudding until you've eating all your Meep."
That was one of the best bits of the 60th Anniversary trio in my opinion, the way the Meep just switched from for weak n feeble to evil in a click of fingers was stunning work
Someday some form of media will shock us all by having the cute cuddly small tiny thing actually be good instead of some horrific evil. " *looking at you Kirby!*
As a lifelong Doctor Who fan (44 years and counting) I'm afraid I have rather a shocking confession to make. I quite enjoy the taste of pears, actually.
Why would rose be considered weird by the meep when rose was the first human the meep met? Shouldn't everyone else be considered weird by the meep by being different to rose
The Meep is just being mean because the Meep got the impression that Rose was sensitive about people considering her weird. Also, the Meep probably saw all the dolls of aliens.
When this scene aired, I completely forgot that the meep was evil as I was shocked and speechless😂 ,but It was a great scene anyway. The transition from cute meep to evil meep was smooth and brilliantly edited.

While I really like this twist, I think a better one that fits the story of both sides is that there were two Meeps. One corrupted by the Psychedelic Sun, the other was immune to the Sun and/or they were born off world while the Sun went mad. The reason the Bad Meep wants the Good Meep dead? Either because a cure to the Psychedelic Sun's madness could be synthesized from the Good Meep's DNA or the Bad Meep sees any Meep that don't worship the Psychedelic Sun as heretics who should be put down. The Wrarth Warriors chase and shoot down the wrong spaceship, causing the Good Meep to misunderstand the situation and giving the Bad Meep plenty of time to gather an army on Earth. The reason why there are only two Meeps left? Because the Bad Meeps killed the Good ones, while the Wrarth Warriors then killed the Bad ones.
Personally I loved the tone of this story, and this scene especially. I think "good guy was bad guy" is way more fun as a twist than "bad guy was good guy", which I've had a little much of by now. It's light-hearted and cheesy and a real proper Adventure; though the ending was a little rushed I still liked it well enough. 0:22 Let's be honest, Meep's run was the best part of the episode. ❤
3:36 i love the face david makes here 😂
Brilliant twist. Even I was fooled by The Meep’s apparent innocence.
Don't let the meep's cuteness fool you.
David said every time he took the wig off his hair would flop flat and his on set hair and makeup lady was groaning 😂😂
To be fair, the hair and makeup lady often has to do something that's supposed to take an hour in about 10 minutes between takes. If there are a lot of takes and she has to keep redoing his hair over and over, she's going to get bloody sick of it! xD
Love how this is simultaneously an adaptation of Doctor Who magazine comic while also being a bait-and-switch where you think The Meep is going to be Doctor Who’s version of Grogu from The Mandalorian (cute alien that they can make tons of merchandise on) only for the reveal to make The Meep more akin to a villainous Star Wars character like Palpatine
I get the feeling RTD did this specifically as a response to Grogu. He was saying "not everything that's cute and cuddley is good".
I knew who Beep the Meep was going in and was waiting the entire time for this heel turn
The Meep started to sound more like Miriam Margolyes (who voiced the Meep) when she turned evil.
The Meep looks like a furby mixed with a gremlin
Never call a mothers child weird
True. The only thing scarier than an intergalactic super-villain is an angry Mom!
Especially when it's true.
Best moment of this Who era so far. Amazing❤
ADDRESS THE COURT!
David Tennant Ace Attorney
No way..
The judge is too clever

Now I'm intrigued by the "living sun" concept.
It was shown before in other DW episodes
Burn with me!
@@DarknessTheNightFury yeah, I remember that.
@@neurokith And also Akhaten, I think?
I don't think Akhaten was the same thing, it seemed like a separate military thing to me but idk

The Meep's change to evil was quite similiar to Gollum, especially those pupils.
I actually read the old Doctor Who comic this was based on… it was nice to see the idea brought to life!
Watching this again, I remembered that episode of Tenants, he’s met a living sun before. Some humans were trying to harvest it for power and they got hypnotised from it.
Much better episode than this one
11 met a living sun too, actually.
In fact, this is why I thought he should've immediately recognized solar psychedelia the moment he saw those soldiers' eyes.
@@DoctorWhoKage From the Doctor's perspective, that was over a thousand years ago.
I love how the Doctor just pulls a wig out of his coat.
I think it's a reference to a Tom Baker story called the Stones of Blood. He pulls out the same wig during another "trial."
I actually thought the Meep was Innocent boy was I wrong
Had me fooled too, mate! 😂

Learned that lesson watching Thundercats as a kid.
I told myself I watched too much Owl House if I thought the cuddly creature wasn’t the bad guy. Thankfully I was as cautious with it as I was with the shapeshifters and the reality bending puppet master.
My friends and I were joking about how funny it would be if the meep was space hitler.
He is a Meep." "Meep" "And an evil Meep at that."
I think an alternate title should be. "You can't have any pudding until you've eating all your Meep."
You know things are getting serious when he busts out the wig.
Meep was scary but the dolls in the giggle were scarier
So glad I can catch up the series!!
This is my favorite scene from The Star Beast
That was one of the best bits of the 60th Anniversary trio in my opinion, the way the Meep just switched from for weak n feeble to evil in a click of fingers was stunning work
The Meep episode reminded of Gremlins. Cute and adorable until they switch to be evil and vindictive.
Someday some form of media will shock us all by having the cute cuddly small tiny thing actually be good instead of some horrific evil. "
*looking at you Kirby!*
cue the Ewoks.
As a lifelong Doctor Who fan (44 years and counting) I'm afraid I have rather a shocking confession to make.
I quite enjoy the taste of pears, actually.
I had one last night and have a tin in the [larder]
YOU WHAT
Get Out.
HOW DARE YOU? 😂
Have you no shame to admit such debauchery on the internet
I had never heard of Beep the Meep before this episode. I gotta say, I was fooled, but good.
Can we get an F in the Chat for Sergeant Zogroth?

Why would rose be considered weird by the meep when rose was the first human the meep met? Shouldn't everyone else be considered weird by the meep by being different to rose
The Meep is just being mean because the Meep got the impression that Rose was sensitive about people considering her weird. Also, the Meep probably saw all the dolls of aliens.
That was the writer’s way of saying that only a maniacal white star beast would think that Rose was weird.
I'm assuming it's that Rose makes toys. I mean how many other 15 year old girls do you know who run their own Etsy shop?🤔
I was under the impression The Meep was being transphobic.
I’ve never felt so betrayed lmao 🤣
When this scene aired, I completely forgot that the meep was evil as I was shocked and speechless😂
,but It was a great scene anyway. The transition from cute meep to evil meep was smooth and brilliantly edited.
I'm the beep of all the ****ing meeps
I love how the Doctor just has a powdered wig in his jacket. For no reason. And we've all gotten so used to his weirdness, no one bats an eye.
The Brain: The same as always, Pinkie. Today we take over the WORLD!
Meep: Today, I destroy all life!
The Brain: WHAT? WHAT? WHAAATTT?
The Brain: I could work with this. Destroy everything and then build my glorious empire. Partners, Meep?
@@danielhaire6677 Earth mice are delicious and nutritious. They supposedly taste like chicken, whatever that is.
3:12 for all the Disparu fans
I’d hate to break it to you, but if anything the destruction caused by a double bladed dagger drive would probably just make it more appealing to The Meep.
All hail Beep the Meep.
HAIL TO THE MOST HIGH
My Mom: "Wait, the Meep's evil?!"
Me who read the comic book: 😱
Loved this scene

For a guy who's setting up a court session, the Doctor didn't really secure the courtroom very well. RIP Zogroth and Zreeg.
I hate that those brave soldiers had to die because the Doctor stopped them.😢
While I really like this twist, I think a better one that fits the story of both sides is that there were two Meeps.
Imagine if off screen the doctor thought ahead of time to add a barrier..
2:26 that transition of cute to evil your cat goes through when you're about to pet it
It's horrifying how in one second that cute little face turns into a demonic evil one..
Exhibit C makes a convincing argument
Your turn, the Meep. Witness for the defense. So, what do you say?
That's how I enter every party I go to:
"I am the beep of ALL the meeps, motherf@ckahs!"
Deus ex machina is kinda Russell's thing, at least it doesn't come completely out of the blue.
I wonder if the solar psychedelia mentioned was itself a reference to Chibnall’s “42” from Series 3?
zogroth and zreeg are adorable😂🥺
I thought that meep was so cute and he'd fooled everyone!
The Meep kind of reminds me of Cartman
I love that the voice actor for Dexter's dad got to be in here as those locus men haha. Can't remember his name but love his voice!
Phineas and Ferb would be so heartbroken. 😢
Why do I think of Meep from phineas and ferb lmao
I was expecting Pingu with those sounds
"The alien's name is Meep." *Looks at Phineas and Ferb*
David Tennant is My Favourite as The Tenth and Fourteenth Doctor in Doctor Who 👍
Of course he has a barrister's peruke in his jacket pocket. Wonder if he has a gavel, or would the Sonic have a setting for that...
