He did mention reliability I've owned LEXUS Mercedes and Bmw the LEXUS is by far the most reliable never had any issue with my LEXUS vehicles. My oldest one is has 275k LS400 still looks and runs great.
My BMW's were always plaqued by a serious expensive issue right after the warranty ended. My wife's second Benz was junk from day one. So nice to drive Lexus's and not have to worry about such things. I'm on my third and my wife is on her second and we trade in around 110K.
A mechanic guy on UA-cam says to buy a 2014 or later. I am trying to remember why. I have a 2014 with/ 60k and have never had any trouble. I bought it new and always service at Lexus. Find a cheaper mechanic! They are excellent but expensive.
With less than 60k I was sweeping parts of my BMW off the road. Toyota/Lexus 200,000+ miles and all I've had to change is the mid section of the exhaust @ £37 fitted, and a wheel bearing (although i changed both rear bearings) @ £160 fitted. With the BMW I was shelling out that, nearly every month in repairs alone!
It’s 2024 but I am looking at buying a used 2014 IS250. Thank you for a very comprehensive and detailed review. You are the only reviewer that tests the trunk size by getting inside of it! I would call this the “Mobster Test”. If you are a mobster and you routinely have to put bodies in the trunk so you can drive them out in the country and dispose of them, the IS 250 might be a little bit inconvenient as the body won’t fit in as nicely as a bigger car. But for most of us non-mobsters as long as it holds our golf clubs it’s going to be just fine.
That's why they destroy German cars , they're true investments that can't be beat checking ALL the boxes. In the last few years , I've meet over a dozen people complain about German cars they bought. Repair costs are atrocious.
Thanks Alex. Only item I wanted to hear more about was the 6 speed automatic transmission. The 6 speed is one reason I would buy an IS 250. I own an Acura TSX which is a 5 speed automatic and I enjoy transmissions with more gears. Great in depth review of this car. Well done. NCB
Loved the IS's dashboard design when it was first launched. However, it's quite sad that almost the same interior is still in the significantly refreshed model eight years later.
Hey Alex. This is awesome work as usual. Keep up these great reviews. I think you should take a closer look at the Mercedes brand which has really evolved in the last few months: your comments on the new CLA (maybe 45 amg?), the "new" E class or the new S class would be deeply appreciated. Furthermore, do you think you'll review the excellent 2014 Range Rover Sport? Seems like a masterpiece to me.
hey, I just purchased a pre-owned 2014 lexus is 250 and I noticed that the sound from the radio doesn't work. Is this normal? And how could this be fixed?
The Fusion Titanium looks really nice and I considered some American made options because of great pricing for the amount of options you get but reliability is a big issue.
Oooh, tricky question. Most practical would likely be the Accord Hybrid. Pie in the sky dreams would be a Jaguar XJ R, and if it were my own money and I was going to get a new car I would probably be quite torn between an Accord Hybrid and a Volvo S80 T6 Inscription.
The back of this car looks like it has attitude with you because you owe it money and you keep giving it excuses as to why you don't have it. I want one so bad
I have driven my friend's 2011 model; the only thing put me down is the back seat. However I heard Lexus kinda screw up the suspension of the new ones which are not as smooth as before. Is that true?
Dominic Chen That depends on how you look at things. Yes it is firmer, but the IS in general is more dynamic than before. I don't call taht a mistake, I just call that different.
Alex on Autos Would you consider the new IS as a good long distance driving vehicle? The models like ES are too big to parking; I am enjoying the handling from the smaller sizes.
It depends on what you're looking for. The IS250 has the better weight balance and RWD driving dynamics. If you like AWD, then the Audi has the superior AWD system.
I got the 2014 is250 2 weeks ago, but honestly i expected to be better than the previous model 06-13. i had the 2010 is250 & by far the interior & audio was way better than the new 2014 im very disapointed, when im driving i feel like im driving a Civic, this 2014 model its full of plastic, & the audio system its terrible!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
if they didn't have those damn led strip in the front it would look so much better....hopefully there will be mods to remove or cover them, just imagine this car without them, looks much better!
Henry Pacheco the reason why they used a v6 is because the smoothness & power delivery is much more smoother on a v6 which a little 4 cylinder could not offer.
Horribly ugly! Lexus spent all their money on styling and now the IS250 will remain the most woefully underpowered and overdesigned car in its segment. It looks like a glammed-up Lancer Evo AND there's no more stick shift option. Toyota's backward thinking is starting to infect Lexus.
I agree with you so much i think this new lexus IS250 is worse than previous IS250 in every single way, it's ugly, the dashboard is bland and 90's looking, the taillights with that line is ugly, headlight DRL looks cheap and tacky. Previous generation had a wonderful looking dashboard, the satnav screen was on the middle of the dash, easily seen and without the excess pointless bezel. The heated seat controllers are on the other side of the gear selector, that's not helpful to the driver, i really wanted to like this car but i hate it, much rather previous IS250. It's as ugly as toyota best selling cars, prius, corolla etc
Yes. Yes it is shit. Made by the same company that makes Hyundai. A company that scammmed thousands of their customers with false fuel efficiency numbers in order to sell a bunch of their shit-boxes. Shitty resale, high maintenance costs, terrible aesthetics, . . . pure shit!
mohamed albhrany that makes me sad bc now they look more race car like instead of elegant sport luxury if that makes sense. I will have to just find a 2013 hopefully with low miles now lol
The change to the grill was ELITE!!! Give those designers a raise please.

I gotta give it to you, this was probably the most complete and thorough car review videos I'd seen in ages. Kudos to you
i lost my shit when it transitioned to him laying in the trunk
I was not expecting that
I like how he said the ATS truck was “fairly uncomfortable” as if somebody was gonna be riding in the trunk😂😂😂
Trunks comfort index? What the actual heck 😂😂😂
@Larissa The only thing I can conclude is that he likes riding in the trunk. Maybe he has a...trunk fetish?...🤣

yea but the lexus will outlast the bmw and be ten times cheaper
They doesn't stand a chance against any bmw. You can keep your camry engine.
@@ishkaranbrar313reliable Camry engine compared to plastic engine over priced bmw parts
@ishkaranbrar313 I own this car and it's at 170,000 miles and still looks new. I intend to drive it till it dies 😂
I think this is the best review you can get on UA-cam if you're really looking to make a decision on car purchase. good job, Alex!
I agree and I think I'll get one too
@@trini_boi2414 Did you get it? Are you happy with it? What do you have to say about performance in everyday usage?
This 2014 car still goes for $20k to $28k 😮
Lexus car value hold up really good overtime

If you get a rear wheel drive IS 350, you can enjoy an 8 speed gearbox.
A lot of people are not interested in the power under the bonnet but rather reliability, comfort and noise suppression
Loved the IS's dashboard design when it was first launched. However, it's quite sad that almost the same interior is still in the significantly refreshed model eight years later.
Alex, your reviews are excellent. The comparisons along the way with the BMW and Cadillac are great. Keep it up!
Thanks for creating actually useful reviews! Love you channel.
Very good car. I love that design. Very cool!
Those are all on our list but I expect that due to scheduling I won't be able to get my hands on them until January.
Love this car!!!!!! Gotta drive one, open or curve road, sunny day or winter mix, this car performs!!!!! yes indeed!!!!
Always complete detail honest review.
We are trying to get our hands on one.
Hey Alex. This is awesome work as usual. Keep up these great reviews.

great review! I want this car, or the CLA. I can't decide.
Which did you end up buying?
I’m going for 2014 cla 250
Today I get to decide if I want the 2014 cla 250 or this Lexus
Excellent and thorough review!!!
Really nice review. I like the way how you compare this is and BMW/Benz.
The Lexus IS350 & Cadillac ATS 3.6 rate highly on my list. Very likely next year I'll get either one, or perhaps an Audi S3.
Wow! Nice review Alex, thanks
Alex, great review. Thank you. Please review the Lexus GS. It would be great to have your comments on the same.
That profile is very attractive to "my eye" as well lol.
I should have one around January.
I love the design of the interior. It looks fancy.
Great review! Do to still recommend this car in 2023 F-Sport version, if there's one in great shape and care? Thanks
Very informative video. Thank you
My dream car in white.
thank you for another great review
The Q50 is very high on our list, we're working on getting one.
I hope to have one around January.
hey, I just purchased a pre-owned 2014 lexus is 250 and I noticed that the sound from the radio doesn't work. Is this normal? And how could this be fixed?
Great reviews as usual. Can you please review the CLA next?! I would like to see your view on it!
i like. the car actually. before the review, but i liked it more after., thx alix for being. good reviewer
The model you're driving has the Luxury package which means it has semi-aniline leather. Not Nue-Lux.
$24k Used 2014 IS250 with 20k miles or A New 2016 Civic Touring $25k..Which would you buy?????
+rsm nyc im making the same decision but with a used Ford Fusion titanium in the race as well at ~$18k
The Fusion Titanium looks really nice and I considered some American made options because of great pricing for the amount of options you get but reliability is a big issue.
Alex, of all the reviews you've done lately which car would you most like to own yourself?
Oooh, tricky question. Most practical would likely be the Accord Hybrid. Pie in the sky dreams would be a Jaguar XJ R, and if it were my own money and I was going to get a new car I would probably be quite torn between an Accord Hybrid and a Volvo S80 T6 Inscription.
Alex on Autos + Nice! ♥️
What kind of this Lexus IS 250 like What is version L? or just 250? I just wanna know. Please let me know if you would mind.
This guy is brilliant.
The back of this car looks like it has attitude with you because you owe it money and you keep giving it excuses as to why you don't have it. I want one so bad
how much is that base modle?
Gorgeous and superior vehicle from all angles physically and figuratively, I just wish the starting price was lower...
Looks very nice and agressive. I liked it very much. But I prefer hybrid versions with smaller engines and not a huge V6. That's only for US markets.
Alex, consumers reports claims that the 0-60 time is around 8.6 with gas averaging around 21 miles per gallon
Alex, can you do a child seat review for this also?
I could see myself in this car..dark charcoal grey with black high gloss 5 spoke rims 😁
I have driven my friend's 2011 model; the only thing put me down is the back seat. However I heard Lexus kinda screw up the suspension of the new ones which are not as smooth as before. Is that true?

Dominic Chen Yes but it won't be as comfortable as the ES
Hi Alex,
Which one has a better drive -the IS250 or Audi A4 2.0 Quattro? Can you do a review on Audi A4?
It depends on what you're looking for. The IS250 has the better weight balance and RWD driving dynamics. If you like AWD, then the Audi has the superior AWD system.
Lexus/ Toyota has been using the same cruise control stalk for forever now. Just integrate it already!
1537 seconds for the 1\4 mile? It's about half an hour xD
Will you do the infiniti q50?
Wow,Only 204 h.p.& Gas Mlg.Only Avgs.21mpg, for A
2.5 V6. Same H..p. As A Civic,4 Banger SI

greatest accolades I've heard given to IS... Q50 base and S Hybrid please
I don’t think it could have been said any better
are you serious...the ats is plain jane in the rear..
Alex, How is iS250 compared to Acura TLX v6-Tech ?
The IS is a little slower, a little smoother, it feels a bit more expensive on the inside and the handling is much better.
Do the rear seats fold down?
yes they do !
yes the do!
Lol, u filmed this in the Bay Area?
Can you review the 2014 5 series?
The BMW is certainly faster - to the dealer garage for repairs :) Lexus all the way.
7:56 😂😂
I test drove it and it felt really slow to me. Sounded like 4 cyclinder. Acura TL feels more solid. I was surprised that this Lexus felt kinda cheap
This was very aggressive review.
This is a small compact car with a fatal flaw engine

First two minutes and the over use of the word aggressive. Onto the next video.

people attack Acura and yet my 4 cylinder tlx makes 206 hp, interesting huh?
Henry Pacheco the reason why they used a v6 is because the smoothness & power delivery is much more smoother on a v6 which a little 4 cylinder could not offer.
All he talks about is other cars......
I enjoy the comparisons which is exactly why he does it.
oh men how I wish they made this in v6 or v8
