You can do both. There is a lever you turn to point which tank to use. Before we bought the extended tank, we’ve been just bringing a separate red tank and just been refilling the motor tank each time before or when it runs out.Hope this info helps.
It’s in Scotts Flat Lake when I first used this fuel line extension. The video with four was not in full speed yet but it does gets slower if more passengers…the BF5 is just enough speed to get you to where you want to go but not for like a jetski speed feeling…
