Quartzsite, Arizona: RVing Extravaganza
Вставка
- Опубліковано 14 жов 2024
- I spend a couple of days RVing in Quartzsite, meet up with some fellow UA-camrs and RVers, see the Big Tent, and visit a secluded bar in the middle of the desert. I was just one week late for the RTR.
We tow a 2015 Winnebago Micro Minnie 1706FB travel trailer. You are more than welcome to tag along in our travels by subscribing to this channel.

Love watching your travels! Make me forget the crap in the world and so relaxing to watch. Great music too!
At first, I was not sure about Robert's content or presentation, but I have now become accustomed to him, and now he is like an old friend; I really enjoy his documentaries. Thank you, Robert.
Wow.!nice rides for the Quartsite Arizona..thank for the rides sir robert..godbless more power and adventure..👍👍👍
"Monkey See, Monkey Do" is my favorite quote from this one!
Robert, awesome video. Thank you for the shoutout and sharing Dawn and I with your audience. Mike from RandomBitsRV
Thanks Mike. See you on the road!
@@TravelingRobert What is the camera again please? My daughter does UA-cam video's from our farm. I love the quality. Thank you. Love your video's.
@@PreppingAngelSony FDR AX53 is the main camera
@@TravelingRobert The white one? Thank you so much for replying.
Awesome video!!!! Your videos takes the stress off. The music is the best. I love it!!!
Robert, when you get lost like that, you can put a pin on the map where you are parked and you can walk back with no problems. We done that before. Hahhahaha
I'm happy you waited to show this video now instead of showing it last month with the other 10,000 youtube channels. Makes it more enertaining.
,,Great Trip, I am from Germany and we drove many times thru Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico , Utah,it wars so super.Great Video from you, Thanks
Glad you liked it
Looking back.... looking forward. Learning and conquering. That's the RV life. INTL. It's never too late.
Dude your are so cool ... thanks for the example!
Hi Robert: When I was 11, we lived in Quartzsite in the summer of 1960. Then it was a 2 pump gas station and a general store/bar, we were about two blocks from the general store (which is still there). There were only about 30 people living around there. My dad got a job as a mechanic working on the NEW interstate I-10. We lived in a 150 sq ft 3 room shack with LOTS of scorpions in the front yard.
I and a neighbor friend-girl (her dad was a California Border Guard) would get a couple of sodas, some candy and go walking off into the desert and be gone for hours, never thinking about the real danger that was hidden among those bushes. We didn't have air conditioning and it didn't matter. We walked thru the Hi-Jolly Cemetary and Joseph's Cabin (which was just a mess of rocks on top of each other) and would sit under a tall cactus during the hottest part of the afternoon.
We loved the hot desert fresh air. We left Quartzsite after my dad was transferred to a town 60 miles away called EAGLE MOUNTAIN. It was own and operated by Kaiser Steel Corp. We LOVED it! I have been back several times since those days and am always surprised to see all the changes in the town. One time in the early 2000's I tried for the job of Mayor, but didn't get the position. ALMOST got it! lol ... We still love the "Q"
Cool to hear your story from a different era. Life was simpler back then, I suppose. By the way I really liked Quartzsite. there is something about it.
Great travelogue of the Quartzsite area but there is still more to see.
THANKS ROBERT
Oh me Robert, your theme song is in my head every day. "I'm free in my RV, right next to big saguaro cactus tree... Oh yeah... sing it brother..."
:-)
Robert are you the singer in the theme song?
Yes
Beautiful. Thank you for video
Fantastic video. Loved to hear your true comments about things. Funny.
Glad to finally see this video...been waiting since you “arrived” to Quartzsite.
Thank you for sharing Robert!
liked the music as the drone returns to the campsite from Quartzite
Hi Robert, thanks a lot for this magnificent video about your visit to Quartzsite,Arizona.Another great product emanating from your Genius surely.Greetings from William in Bruges,Belgium,Europe
Thank you once again William
Outstanding coverage of your biggest and longest trip ever. You deserve two thumbs and five stars for this vid... Thank you
Thank you so much... and we're not even halfway through the trip yet.
Can't wait to see the rest of it.. I know it will be good..
when I last lived on the road I used to spend my winters in a place called Bouse...on the way to Parker...so this is like old home day for me...love it
Hmmm, I'll check out Bouse for next time
It's a barley a town sort of place...the name is french and means cowpie...it used to be a place for loading and unloading range cattle now it's a wide spot in the road with a gas station and post office and a bunch of trailer slips with hookups for seasonal refugees from the cold up north...nice little spot
Thanks for the free vacation Robert! As usual your video does not disappoint. I now know what that annual Quartzsite is all about and for me coming from NYC, it's not worth it. Better for me to either skip it or just pass by for one or two days and just do the National parks and other numerous western attractions. Safe journeys to you as always.
All your videos make me feel I'm right there. You do it best!
Quartzsite has grown even more since I was there last...nice work
Thanks! It was my first time there
I'm kind of a rockhound so I went for the gem and mineral show
Love seeing you in that Cedar Point hoodie.
I'm a bit of a coaster fanatic and live one hour away in Cleveland.
Would love to ride the new ones with you one day!
Awesome videos as always, your vids are *my* Netflix series!
I really enjoyed sharing your trip. It was so nice to be able to see Arizona
Thank you!
Had to find this video due to your comments about CA taking your FL lemons. I enjoyed watching your first Quartzsite boondocking trip.
Another great video ! I especially liked the sunset shots with the saguaro. Thank you ! :)
Wow. We stayed there 2019 June. It was hot and looked like dead. But wow January it is a happening little town. Amazing. A place to go visit in January. Thanks for the video.
What a great video and was worth driving down that road to go to that saloon and the views were fantastic thankyou 👍🏻
Hi Robert, Hedi & I have become your fans! Your curious, inclusive , discriminating personality lends itself to having a terrific platform to enlighten and entertain ! Having a musical background sets you apart from others as well. We are not RVers, but UA-camrs as well as nomads when traveling North America each year. We live 50% in the Philippines. We were Yuman for 16 years(1992-2008) and strongly advise you to spend some time there, visiting Los Algodones, Baja, Ca, MX,while there. Yuma is a unique place, the sunniest city in the world. Maybe you'll visit the beautiful country that is the Philippines one day?
Enjoyed your tour of the bar and the big tent! Amazing trip across the country!
Thank you! It was a great trip
Great video. I love the community aspect of RVing, everyone is so friendly.
Yes, RVers are the best. Thank you!
If you cannot find a dual battery box you can improvise. I use a plastic footlocker from a big box store that locks. I mounted the footlocker down with U-Bolts. Inside I have 2 single battery boxes. I have my batteries wired together with a disconnect switch that allows me to run battery 1, battery 2, or both. The battery boxes inside protect my batteries, and the footlocker is water tight and protects the batteries further. Not much expense and it looks good.
Hi Robert! Such a great video, as always. I simply love the desert and you're not making it any easier on me with having to wait to get my full time Rving started! Such a beautiful and picturesque area of Arizona! Been through there many times, when I was still trucking, but, never got to stop for a few days as you did. But, that's about to change real soon! Travel safe, Robert, have fun, and, God Bless! Waving from Houston, Texas.
(3/17/2018 8:05pm CST)
Thank you! Quartzsite is to be experienced at least once.
JIM BRIDGES I love the desert too! This is the life, huh?☺️☺️
Traveling Robert haven’t been, but really hope to someday.
When I was still trucking it was 'so so'...restricted! Hopefully real soon, when I go full time, it's gonna be like Tony the tiger says:
"It's Greeeeeeeaaaaaaaat!" Lol! Have a blessed day!
(PS: that was a nice video tribute to your grandpaw you made!...I was surprised at how long y'all's love light burned! Very nice!)
JIM BRIDGES you have a wonderful day too😉
I just love your videos. I enjoy Traveling Robert. I am happy that you do this.
Thanks for the great video of your experience in Quartsite! I was planning on going there this past December to attend the RTR but couldn't get away because of my business. Then in January I fell on the ice and dislocated and broke my ankle in 2 places. Quartsite sure is a busy place this time of year! Also thanks for taking us to the Desert bar. I would never attempt to go on that road!! I can't wait to go to slab city with you!!
Thank you! Slab City is next.
Beautiful Robert. I'm about to experience my "first ever desert sunset" in Quartzsite" in a few weeks. I've never been there. I'm excited. You wouldn't mind sharing that "fried garbanzo bean recipe with us, would you? It looks delicious.
Robert, i recommend a battery monitor system to monitor the power going in and out of your battery. Thats the only way to know the power left in your battery and how much time is left. I have a Victron Connect BMV712 i can see the status via bluetooth on my phone. Expensive but required for extended boondocking.
Great video. Congrats..... An extraordinary adventure. An unforgettable experience. Good luck.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We sang a song in Girl Scouts called "Hi Jolly" was a camel driver long time ago. I think it was originally sung by the New Christy Minstrels. I didn't realize he was real until I saw your video. Cool.
That's cool
Thanks again for a great video, we appreciate what you do!
Thank you!
Nice long video Robert, thanks for the Quartesite look around, everybody's been there vlogging but yours was the best,, I was there back in 1968 its really changed, wow, actually too many people now, but life is great,, thanks g from brooklyn
Thank you. Quartzsite was fun, unique and interesting
Well gosh darn Robert. Our paths missed crossing by a week. I went North to Las Vegas and other points North after the RTR. I spent a couple nights down in the wash with other UA-camrs myself. They weren't comfortable driving their 5th wheel up to the RTR area. You take care
Hi, Robert 👍🏻👊🏻 Awesome traveling adventure from Quartzsite Arizona, beautiful scenery and amazing views. Thanks for sharing, enjoy and have a Blessed Sunday, be safe !!!! Danny
Thank you!
Great video Robert thanks
Thank you!
I've been learning alot about solar power this last year and I have learned that you should never take your battery down past 50% or you risk damage to your battery. If your on a voltmeter thats equivalent to 12.05V. I would suggest adding another battery in parallel so you could increase your time. There are plenty of charts you can download for the info as to voltage and battery level. I always enjoy your vids, keep it up.
Alan Kermit (your Gringo in Mexico)
Great vid Robert, one of your best. Try getting 4 golf cart batteries then put them in parallel, it should work great for the power u need. Also think about putting another solar panel on your roof. Btw be careful in flab city.
And to hold the batteries in place look for a Metal Fabrication shop that build flat bed trailers and ask them to build you a custom battery box out of angle iron and sheet metal. The price on this battery box should not be anymore then $200.oo
Great video, Robert! You get the Blue Ribbon award for best music and best voice over. :-)
Thank you!
Oh, and I forgot to say....Great drone work too!
Merci Robert pour ces videos
Wow...you put a lot of time in this one...thanks.....I was there, probably drove right by your camper a few times, judging from where you were in Scaddan Wash. I think if you had a portable panel that you could use to track the sun, you might have had enough solar power. Shhh....dont tell anyone, but the 'sky lanterns' are really flying chupacabras... lol
Quartzsite was a lot of fun. I hope to go back next year.
One of your best videos yet Robert! Congrats.
Thank you!
Loved the "behind the scenes" with the motorhome experiment lol.
Nice folks
Epic video Robert. You worked hard on this one. Thanks for sharing your travels.
Good morning Robert. Last night my wife and I were injoying you're streaming from the place? Bridge honda? THIS IS ONE LONG VIDEO!!!!!
Bahia Honda State Park, cool place. Thank you!
Robert, you would make a great Hypnotist with that voice. LOL :)
Looks like fun!
I enjoyed this video so much that I am watching it again while it's snowing here in NYC 3/21/2018 11:10 AM
Still having fun catching up. Have to admit one of the best channels out. As a vary big Add, you do your own background music and a very good gob at that! Almost like you used to be a D J or something 😎
This is the first time I've vicariously seen Quartzsite, I mean, r-e-a-l-l-y seen it. Excellent video.. I've been wondering what brand battery charger you bought & has it done it's job to your satisfaction?
That you. It did charge the battery at the moment, but I believe I did some permanent damage to it by discharging it so much.
Thanks I enjoyed that
Hello Mi pana Robert, Second day of spring and it's snowing here in NYC man ! It's ok I find it beautiful from my window :)
You saved me a long bumpy ride for not much:) Thanks.
Someone needs to come up with a shuttle service from main entrance to the bar location for people that don't have the proper vehicle. A few bucks person they could make a killing.
Robert, were you making Cuban coffee when you got up the 2nd day you were there?
Beautiful desert views on sunsets and sunrises!
Great video (as usual) thanks Robert
Just found your channel. 1st video of many I need to catch up on. Really impressed with the quality, time & effort dedicated to your videos. And I can't forget the sexy voice as a bonus 😜..
What Amazing sunsets ❤
33:20 the infamous Arizona traffic shenanigans. A few weeks ago Nomadic Fanatic almost got thrown off the road thanks to a big coach RV hugging the road. I am happy you and Minitini made it out of the West.
I watched your series on amazon Prime!!!!!! Great job. Now you are famous!!!!!!!!
Thank you. I'm starting to put more video there too
Great!!! I'll be looking for it.
Wonderful journey, nice friends
By the way Robert, I enjoyed this video very much. Thanks my man !
Hi Robert. Thanks for your Many Awesome videos. I just subscribed when I noticed I had not done that yet. LOL. I would like to know what camera you were using as a dash cam (I think) when you were filming the drive out to the Desert Bar??? I was amazed at how steady the video was even though the road was nasty. Very, very rough road and yet the camera seamed to do an awesome job of image stabilization, Wow!!! Was all camera or did you do something else for that in Editing??? Thanks again, Love your videos. :)
That's the Sony FDR X-3000. Awesome 4K quality, optics, and stabilization. No extra stabilization needed in post. Thanks for subscribing!
I've always been amazed how people avoid using their car or truck engine to recharge all their batteries. Those probably put out a lot more power than most portable generators or solar systems do. They're also a lot quieter than those generators.
Great video Robert. Love your music!!!
Thank you!
Hey Robert, Neal from Miami here. I installed a metal storage box that Harbor Freight sells that fits in the front of the trailer. I have one battery now and a 100 watt panel, but there is room for me to upgrade to a second battery. The Item#66244 is $89.99.
38:00 The type of road was nothing compared to Cerro de Nandy (sp?), there is a restaurant my dad used to take us at the top of a mountain, it is very rocky, and only ATVs with very robust tires and suspension can climb the mountain. They serve arroz con tocino, quail or rabbit stew, and lots of beers.
Very good Video. Hope to see you at RTR 2019
I guess Deb and I will make the trip in a couple of years. Prob 2020. We’ll have a little bigger RV. Good video. We both watched it. Tks.
Thank you! 2020 not that far away
Enjoying your videos Do you do voice-over commercials? Thought I recognized your voice on a Galbani commercial today. :-)
Thank you. I don't do any professional voice over work.
Great video! Next time you'll have to hide your lemons. lol
Lol. Smuggle them in. Thank you!
one of your best vids! thank you so much! keep it up please! :)
Thank you so much
I'm so jealous of the lifestyle One day soon but for now I gather information of what to do how to do and what not to do.! So Robert Quartsite Rving seen happens in march each year.??
I love your videos Robert!!
Amazing video Robert...I watched it twice.
Thank you!
Great video, loved the desert bar.
That desert bar was pretty wild
Glad you took the time to meet Nathan and Marissa. Would like to do the same someday.
It was cool meeting so many people
Great video love it , thanks for sharing.
Thank you!
Great video as always.
Thank you!
Robert I used a golf cart battery box and used two golf cart 6 volt batteries. Much better than the one 12v battery.
Maybe I'll have to do that in the future
I think that was your best video ever..
Thank you!
Great Video Robert .And a nice visit with The Motorhome Experiment Robert you invite is still available to join The Adventure Nations Friends Club. under Facebook groups . Robert I'm looking forward to your New England trip hopefully we can get together.
Cool, I'll join. Thank you!
You need to run a volt meter into your travel trailer so that you can watch the voltage drop. Never let the battery voltage, when the battery is at rest, drop below 12.2 volts, or 50% capacity . Ideally, you wouldn't let the battery drop more than 30% before recharging it. So that's around 12.4 volts. I love watching your videos, since I'm always the driver, and the driver can't look around. 3/17/18 And don't get more batteries unless you can charge them up fully at least weekly. More batteries means you need more solar. Or the generator.
great video, maybe your best so far
Thanks!
I've watched many videos on Quartzsite and your is the best.
Enjoying un cafesito by my window :)
Great video thank you for sharing we just drove through quartzite waned to stop but. Didn’t , next time ;)
Quartzsite was cool. Not a whole lot to see in the actual town, but it was unique for sure
50:30 Awesome editing and drone footage. Sorry for so many comments. I get so involved I just love it ! :)
One hand on the wheel one on the drone remote. Thanks!
