do you think the texas rig swim jig type presentation entices more bites or gets a better hook up ratio, I've used some for bass
I am a strong advocate for loop knots for lures that can get more action, but loop knots are no good for thinner lines. This is where articulated jigs comes in play. Yes.. It does amazing in my opinion!
Have you fished shimano's expride?
Im super curious about these cashions, but no ones compared it directly to a known sensitivity benchmark

Them sea robins taste pretty damn good. Reef was loaded with them. Kept a couple fried them up and was shocked

What I do to eliminate cutting and reting is a size 16 Tsunami swivel with a 12 in length of 20 lb floro and a #1coastlock snap
if the blues are in, i usually add a short thicker leader in as well. but i'll usually get bitten off at least 3 times before this stubborn guy would even do it LOLOL
Most people don't seem concerned about skates, but a guy I met at LBI who introduced me to saltwater fishing said they have "glass spines" that can cut you. A couple of years later, my wife saw him fishing, and he had just sliced the palm of his hand on a skate. So, I guess it's real.
ohhh yeah.. skate got ton of species. This specific one got like.. spikes on the top near the tip, like right before it gets thin and clearish.. i was like holy smokes! Let's avoid the spikes for now lol...
Definitely I tore my finger tips up once trying to flip one back over. The spines are all over.
Yes! That was insane... I had a few flop on my kayak before and I didn't see them with those. Wonder if they are different species of skate.
The guy who introduced me to saltwater fishing did this thing where he poked them with his finger at a certain spot and that made them drop their spines down. Wish I could remember the details.
I guess poking with a hook in the mouth would make it spike out... Also Wack u on your leg before he leaves lol
