Brilliant video as ever. 😁😁😁Really enjoyed the underwater camera footage. I bought one for my husband a couple of years ago, but we never saw anything like yours! We're in the Shetland Islands, North East Scotland and have fished both the Viking Festival 3 days, then 4 days from Scalloway and the Mid Yell Fishing Comp, 2 days out from Mid Yell. My husband had the chance to go to fish off Muckle Flugga, its the most northern point of the U.K. Its aggresively tidal, but at 75 (with terminal Cancer) he outfished the other 'hardy anglers' that had come up from the North of England!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣 One year at the Mid Yell comp, the first days weather was horrendous and i spent most of it spewing and caught nothing in the general fish day, the 2nd day was flat calm and after catching mackerel bait, we anchored up, to hopefully catch, what we call 'blind hoes', lesser spotted dogfish and skate. Roker skate are kept, but any Common Skate (we call them Barn Doors!!), is landed, sexed and measured, then released. I managed to catch 2 Common ones, 1st was 114lbs and 2nd was 92lbs!! In total our boat had 5 anglers, as a total we caught 14 Common Skate and won all the Skate prizes, the boats prize and the heaviest skate, which was 196lbs!! Brilliant weekend I'll never forget!! 😁🎣😁🎣😁🎣 Kind regards Mary
Another interesting trip, thanks for taking us along 👍. The last time i saw a fisheries officer was when we were boarded by an icelandic fisheries patrol boat in the north sea in 1963 !!

Underwater camera shots are amazing! Would love more of these :) Also good to see inspections actually taking place and they are out there to stop people taking catch out of season!
Excellent video John, just proves you can’t always catch what you plan too.. Some very interesting under water shot, the clarity of the photography is superb. Thanks for another very interesting video.

Absolutely loving the underwater footage, brings a different perspective to your videos, and your narrative is just as good as Attenborough any day 👍👏👏👏
Such a wonderful day, hardly any wind and lovely companions (Define) I watch every one of your videos because they are just good for me at this time. For those who don't know, I was undergoing chemotherapy for months and his videos helped me through the difficult times. For everyone who is also in the same situation, there are days when you think you can't go any further, then the days of hope, then again the fear of the next examination and its result. All of this becomes easier if you stay calm and level-headed and give yourself positive thoughts, and that's exactly what this channel gives me. My warmest thanks for that. Greetings from Germany to you, your family and to all the viewers from all over the world.
I can say with absolute faith that a positive mindset and positive belief can help you to overcome things that would be otherwise overwhelming. We do try our very best to be a positive influence and share our joy of the natural world. I am thrilled to hear that our videos may be helping you in some way. Take care and know that I will be thinking of you today and look forward to talking to you again. Petri heil. 👍🏻🎣

Hello John. Your episodes are exceptional. The sea floor nature shots are exceptional too. It would be so interesting to see more with wider sea life species. Thank you and I wish you well. Dave

Ok, so the government don't care about conservation? After Brexit they banned all boats over a certain size from our waters. Dredging for bottom species has been banned in vonservation areas. They don't want to apply for licenses and even tried to exempt their boats from our restrictions and inspections furing Brexit negotiations.

when fishing around dolphins, dont you worry about catching one
Never. They’re too smart for that.
You just have to worry about them eating the fish you hook…
But they’re too smart to get hooked themselves
They're Delicious! The smarter the creature, the more delicious they taste. Not surprisingly, humans do not taste good at all!
