The raspy n husky voice n the tragic n bitter memories seem to be made for each other. And when they are united in a well arranged music, you can only feel the significance in your own whispering labyrinth of solitude.

    What an amazing woman!
My partner's brother had the honour of hosting and presenting her in Cape Town at the Artscape Theatre. We had the privilege to meet her in person.
She is down to earth, humble, has old school dignity, a great sense of humour and an infectious laugh. She has no pretences about her.

      i couldn't agree more.
I HATE this kind of open ended stuff.
They did and still do the same with these talent shows like AGT or BGT or what ever.
I could start a list of great artists auditioning for the first time in their life, and they sang a beautiful song or cover but only parts.
      Ridiculous.

Once upon a time there was a tavern,
Where we used to raise a glass or two.
Remember how we laughed away the hours,
And dreamed of all the great things we would do.
    Refrain:
Those were the days my friend,
    We'd thought they'd never end,
We'd sing and dance for-ever and a day,
We'd live the life we choose,
    We'd fight and never lose,
For we were young and sure to have our way.
Lalala lah lala, lalala lah lala
Those were the days, oh yes, those were the days.
Then the busy years when rushing by us.
We lost our starry notions on the way.
If by chance I'd see you in the tavern,
We'd smile at one another and we'd say:
    Refrain:
Just tonight I stood before the tavern,
Nothing seemed the way it used to be.
In the glass I saw a strange reflection,
Was that lonely person really me.
    Refrain:
Through the door there came familiar laughter.
I saw your face and heard you call my name.
Oh, my friend, we're older but no wiser,
For in our hearts the dreams are still the same.
    Вольный перевод.

@@davemonday5381 it is Russian song."Those Were the Days" is a song credited to Gene Raskin, who put a new English lyric to the Russian romance song "Dorogoi dlinnoyu" [ru] ("Дорогой длинною", literally "By the long road"), composed by Boris Fomin (1900-1948) with words by the poet Konstantin Podrevsky. It deals with reminiscence upon youth and romantic idealism. It also deals with tavern activities, which include drinking, singing and dancing.

I can't help but watch this version and think what a scary Mrs Bonnie would make, I knew her once. If I were her husband I know I would be wishing she wasn't quite so.... Bonnie for my own safety. I'd be hiding a corner somewhere. I'm mean this in a nice way because it's a bit like there's no stopping her once she's decided something might work and it's all good. I no some people would come over all meal looking and say 'Bonnie has had an idea.???' She was very determined to be very strong. It sometimes left everyone else nervous, I hope though that people can love the fact that different types of people make life more colourful. There was something going on in the world back in the day that was a guessing game for many as people tried to make the world a better place. I also want to say something else, there were times when I didn't know that I might be anything other than Welsh. I spent the majority of my life in Wales but I was sent around the world (or so it seemed to me) as a child, not always by the ticket paying route, see who was willing to do what and take from and abuse a child who had nothing. So now my memory is back and I don't know that I do feel the extreme Welsh loyalty that I have been threatened that I must. I am I assume whatever I have been raised by that is my upbringing and I don't know this was by Welsh people they said the once side were, I am used to seeing and playing in mountains, I thought polluted rivers with a rainbow of shine on top pretty though the truth was that they were poisened and i got overly excited if I saw a fish though people told me there was no food for it so for turning up in my world and pleasing me it would probably die. I still thought it special, this river looked like a waterfall to me had its own island on the other side of the bank , it wasn't an island it was the other side of the river but to me it was a sunny paradise to the cold side I was sat and sometimes it had frogs and toads and if the rainfall was too heavy I told myself they needed saving this made me feel important because they actually didn't look to well after plummeting over an industrial step at a decent force , it smelt bad too, it smelt of iron and metal in the blood but to me it felt free from our house and I was, hidden down over the bank with my dog and the potential to have secret because everyone knew everything about my life or tried to, so even if what called themselves friends tried to know me, they couldn't because I can go there another day without you, I can tell it to the dog I can tell it to the knew sheep that turned up who got stuck in the fence , I know other ways you don't so keep your clothes clean and lie to you parents and church Ive got others that know me like you can't and never will. The people who surrounded and sniggered at it all I don't know if they were Welsh. Something else was going on. People doing people favours and too many , way too many people who wanted to say they had it all tied up and had won either way. No I don't like many of you and I don't see why I have to all you have to do is stay away from what you don't understand. Leave it be, leave her be my grandfather would say, she's not hurting anyone.

This song is actually from Equatorial Guinea. It was composed by Francisco Macias Nguema. It was actually it's national anthem at one point (that part I am not joking about, unlike the first few statements).

@@ninyaninjabrifsanovichthes45 ok, so let me get this straight.
You are not joking about the part where you say it was actually a national anthem.
      Is that correct?
      And if so, which country?
My comment was about the fact that this song did not originate from Paul McCartney.
Sure, the English text and so on may have, but the original is not an English song.
