The Netherlands Army Task Force Uruzgan (TFU) was part of NATO's Regional Command South, International Security Assistance Force, in Afghanistan.

Deze documentaire aantal keren bekeken... blijft goed.
Er komt bij mij regelmatig een afgaanse man, praat redelijk Nederlands.. krijgt een sprankeling in zijn ogen als hij verteld hoe bkij hij was met de inval van het westen.
Eindelijk (tijdelijk) verlost van de taliban.
Hij werkt nu in een snackbar, nog altijd dankbaar...

Hoe heb jij beelden in handen gekregen waarbij de Spec-Ops herkenbaar in beeld komen? Dat filmpje over die ambush heb ik nu al 1000 keer gezien maar nooit met herkenbare operators.

the PRT was just an avoidance of warfighting... how can you "rebuild" something that was never there to begin with and all the while ignore the enemy that we went there to fight in the first place.

It would be a decent thing to add that all war brings out the worst in people: soldiers, their commanders and the government that commands them all. And its the civilians who suffer most. F.i. in 2007 in Chora, Dutch soldiers fired on civilians a whole night long even (sic) while Canadian troops told them there weren't any enemies in the area anymore. Even many years later, no action whatsoever has been taken to hold anyone accountable for this murderous action. So, don't celebrate war and disband all armies.
Taliban forced civilians to fight against the Dutch troops. They had no choice, just like the Dutch troops had no choice but fighting them.

Khaz Oruzgan 200 taliban ambushed around 30 Australian and US troops, there were 2 Dutch Apache helicopters passing by that refused to fire on the taliban for fear of drawing fire themselves. That is all you need to know about the Dutch

The main fight for 2006 in TK was from May to July! I saw zero Dutch on any of the objectives; they were simple security 3 levels out. The actual men how cleared that zone in the summer of 06 was US Army INF, a few ODA's, and Aussie Commandos. Facts from first hand experience in that time and AO
