Cost and marketing convivences people to love these throw away items and don't mind spending more money for the vehicles that have them. Once again nice video, no BS and right to the point.

    Some of the European higher end cars don’t have motor oil dipsticks. They have a level sensor that tells you when it’s low. Also when you pay $300 for a dealership oil change on one of these cars they don’t even drop the oil drain plug. They suck it out of the dipstick tube on the cars that still have dipsticks so you get “most” of the old oil out of the motor.

    • @georgelin8498
      @georgelin8498 10 місяців тому

      The cars that are designed to be drained using suction actually do a good job getting the old oil out. I've taken the drain plug out after sucking the oil out and there wasn't a drop left.

  • @deathmetalmachine

    I've noticed this with most companies going towards automatics because the clutches are in the transmission itself so you have to rebuild the transmission to get the transmission going again. In a manual transmission the clutches are near the engine so you just replace the clutch and you're good. Also they're removing dipsticks because they want you to be back in that dealership to get a rebuilt transmission after it goes out of warranty.

    Better than Toyota’s. Close the transmission fluid thermostat, connect TC and TE1, get temperature between 97 and 115 degrees, while engine is running, remove check plug and add or drain until it starts to drip out. Takes for ever and if the transmission fluid temperature is too high you have to wait FOREVER for it to drop down to proper temperature.

    mazda 6 used same motors as Ford fusion even on some of the parts in my Mazda it says Ford because they were partially owned by Ford at the time,,, same thing they removed it for some reason with mine at least, but yeah, transmission fluid on the ground would be very noticeable but it's a pain in the ass to check is supposed to have it running at a certain temperature when you check it through that hole, I think it supposed to be running to .. if you ever switch out your CV axle you're going to have to get more transmission fluid into your transmission ,, just so you know that.. me I ended up getting a transmission fluid change afterwards I had them do it at the dealer 180 bucks.. it was due for it and it was the time they were replacing my upper catalytic converter for free because it through an engine code that it needed to be replaced in the car only had 60 K on it.. out of manufactures warranty, but still under federal warranty for any emission control device so they had to replace it would've cost me $1900 just for the parts they did it all for free because I can push them about it at the mazda dealer.. remember we're all covered under an 80,000 mile warranty from the Fed as long as you don't modify your exhaust.. even if you transfer your title to another person..its still there, and the years the cars been around, doesn't matter .. my car was 10 years old already but I only had 60 K.. so since they did the converter free, I just had them do a oil and filter change for the transmission,, especially after I did the CV axles , because the rubber boots on them completely disintegrated and cracked multiple places .. I just bought new CV axles and put them in myself pretty easy to do... in my Mazda, you can literally see a spot where the dipstick was and there's a little thing that sticks up but you can't pull it like a dipstick you have that you would need to unscrew it, and they made it like part of the transmission.. but there's one reason why they decided to make it a sealed transmission so they can make more money. Most people aren't going to check it through that hole, while the car is running or heated up... it brings more money to the dealers.. some cars they actually removed the oil dipstick for the motor.. for the similar reason, mo money, Mo, money, Mo money for most people they would bring it to the mechanic or dealer.. rather than risk being wrong

    "If you think transmission oil dipstick removal by manufacturers is a crazy move, just wait a few more years and engine oil dipsticks will be gone too, I promise you that." And just wait a few more years and engines will be gone too, as well as engine oil dipsticks.

    I’m done with Ford. My best Ford truck is my 2000 followed by my 2013. Trucks built after that have been turned back after the lease ended.
    I will NEVER buy or lease a Ford again.

      They are all going this route. They are making them more throw away so people will keep replacing them like appliances, TV's, etc. No more local TV repairman or shoe repair around the corners anymore.

      Dodge does it too. GM probably isn't too far behind if others are doing it. It's BS honestly and a way of forcing people to go to the stealership.

      @Chopski64 my 21 dodge has a dipstick. I can't imagine why they would do that other than you have to go to stealership and that would make me bye something else. Trucks are getting ridiculous with all the emissions crap. If they opened them up they all got good stuff but epa is distoying trucks

    To save money? As if they put’em in there for free. They charge every penny + to the customer. If they weren’t so greedy but they can fire how many people just to make more money. Pathetic!

    😂your engine oil dipsticks will be gone i promise, maybe on pos fords, or pos german cars, im sure rams, jeeps, toyotas and chevys will all still have them because they want you to be able to catch a problem before it gets worse, the ford dealer wants your problems to get worse so you have to buy a new vehicle and ford wants to engineer things in such a complicated manner that you litterally have to to take it to them to get fixed, its like fords generating more revenue by over designing something so they can make more money on fixing it.

      Stellantis (Ram, Jeep, Chrysler, Dodge) will get rid of their dipsticks when they start phasing in battery powered vehicles before Ford and GM do.
