    Love this. His sense of humor was amazing. There will never be anyone so selfless to walk a stage. He was the one the only. Blessed be the the most humble humane that ever existed. 🙏🏼Happy Birthday tomorrow Elvis 🥰

    Elvis played in Pontiac Michigan at The Silverdome. 12/31/75. Elvis ripped his pants. He was so nervous that was the biggest crowd he ever played for. The Silverdome was the home of Detroit Lions 🦁. I sure wish my mom would have gotten NYE tickets 🎟 I was 10 years old. ❤❤❤❤❤

    In late 1976 Elvis was in great shape and rocking. So sad that he went downhill so fast once 1977 began. I believe clinical depression had a lot to do with the pills and the overeating.

    - - - - To be able to perform like this, just out of nowhere AND so late in what's left of his life, says something....
    It has never been that Elvis 'lost' his superpowers and lost that certain something he had. Folks in the press & even among some fans would cite his inabilities later in life. But if true, how are we to explain footage like this?
    He was like a freakin' wizard, able to summon it at any time when only glimmers of motivation struck him. One could only imagine if he were totally motivated and on a regular basis.

    the late Dec '76 shows were some of his best in that period. His voice was in great shape (always opting to hit those high histrionic notes), he looked slimmer and he had an energy on stage that had been lacking in the previous tours. The Birmingham show from the night before was also outstanding.

    You're the man David...
    I wouldn't have known that without you posting it...
    Elvis needed challenges in order to be successful in making his fans happy and Ginger gave him what was missing because he wasn't touring internationally so his personal life was the only way to get his mind right. An Elvis touring globally would've kept him around more in my eyes

    • @ElvisistheMan_
      @ElvisistheMan_  5 місяців тому

      Thanks man. You’re right, Elvis wasn’t the type to do the same thing over and over because he was determined to. Like, perform with high intensity in Vegas every night. He was an emotional guy and went by field in his performances, and he wasn’t feeling the inspiration lol.

  • @sentinel3504
    @sentinel3504 6 місяців тому +3

    I agree that Elvis seemed to be riding high because of the new relationship with Ginger. Unfortunately I think that relationship caused some of the upcoming lows. I don’t blame Ginger though, she was young and what Elvis expected was a lot for anyone to handle 24/7. I did enjoy her book although like Linda’s I think it probably focus’ on the positives and not some of the obvious issues that she generated. Again I don’t really blame her for those issues. Unless she was completely subservient to Elvis there was going to be issues. Although not the main focus of her book there were some things she heard and observed that were very telling about the what the feelings were of some of the people she n Elvis’ circle. It was definitely a time of change

    Thank you David for the Great videos you do! This one is awesome! Elvis had one of the greatest sense of humor’s. I love seeing him joke a laugh. Just shows what some have said was lies. He was happy & still enjoying life! His voice never failed or left him not even up until the end!
    Even when in 1977 his body was giving out,his health bad he went on doing what he had to do! Others wouldn’t have! But they didn’t have A greedy manager & EXWife that all they cared about out was themselves & money Not Elvis!
    Elvis loved his fans. He didn’t just love them for money he could get from them! I hope you have a Happy New Year 2024! Stay safe & well! Your voice sounds like you’re sick ! Please take care we do care about you David! Thanks again for another great Elvis video! Happy New Year David & Everyone have a blessed safe one! 😍👑❤️🎊 🎉🎈

    Elvis says on one of his last recording sessions 'I am an emotional son of a b...' -I suspect Ginger Alden was quite an inspiration at the time. It's a shame David that the genius film restorers can't improve the film quality to an acceptable level - what a gem that would be..

      They defenitely could but the problem is EPE and other Sony and/or Warner Bros who owns the rights so they haven't done it. If you check from UA-cam the source material they used in 2012 for Prince From Another Planet you can see what a difference they achieved with otherwise bad quality video from the Afternoon Show of MSG
