You can feel the excitement the enthusiasm and the energy he had when he was first performing it was out of this world good ! If only he had been able to travel to other countries that would have kept him challenged and energised enough to have kept him from getting bored …..there are so many if only’s ! I thank God that we had Elvis for as long as we did because i can’t imagine my life not having Elvis in it ! Thankyou so much for your channel and your love of Elvis xx

Great video Dave. One thing I also think is unique and different for this concert - Vegas session was the change in musicians. Glen D Hardin came on board on keyboards and Bob Laning was on drums vs Ronnie Tutt in August. Think there was a lot of Glen’s influence on the structure of the songs - Let it be me for example and even though as a drummer myself I count Ronnie as one of my inspirations, Bob had a very straightforward rocking feel that complimented the songs.
That being said on the flip side you can see where Ronnie influenced the changes in songs when he returned to the kit in August that year - listen to Sweet Caroline from Feb vs Aug, totally different feel.
Like others said-the great part was Elvis was still energized and enjoyed playing and singing the songs. Awesome time period of his musical career

That just shows that Parker never thought about Elvis future and only interested in the money Elvis could make now! No foresight at all! There should have been so much more film on this amazing talent! Even an appearance once or twice a year on a late night talk show would have expanded an even greater following. Parker thought limited exposure was the route to go, but the opposite was true! And tying him up in mediocre movies for years at a time is what did Elvis movie career in! He would have had a great career in movies if the contracts would have only been for a year, two years tops! Then he would be free to make Good movies by other studios that he missed out on and had to turn down because of the 5 year contracts he was tied to! I think Parker knew that and why he didn't want anyone with knowledge of how things worked, around Elvis! Parker circumvented any songwriters, movie makers or projects from coming to Elvis and Elvis knew nothing about! I believe if he'd found out what Parker was keeping him in the dark on all the opportunities, he definitely would have gotten a new manager! I also believe he started with medicating himself because he was sick and tired of doing the same thing over and over. Elvis Needed new challenges for the creative genius he was. When he had a new challenge, he lost weight, pretty much ditched medication (except what was necessary for health issues he had) and stayed physically more active. He felt better physically and mentally as well! That's just like a child with a high IQ that has failing grades. You find out they're bored as heck, so they're skipping a couple grades and bring a straight A report card and are happier because they are challenged and learning! Dave thank you for all the research and little tidbits you learn and pass on to us! I hope you have a wonderful holiday season, full of laughter and love! Merry Christmas! ❤❤❤

That second Vegas shows were even better than the 69 shows. Full of energy. Sadly that lasted not long. He got bored very soon of the Vegas shows. It shows already during shows in august/september 1970. In 1971/1972 he was done with Vegas.

@ElvisIsTheMan: you are right, he still see Las Vegas in a very positive way for him, he was changing the setlist very much, he was rough, very active... far away from that 'deadly' routine to deliver 2 to 3 seasons a year with 2 aperiance's per day. But for sure, after 1970, he felt that the routine 'took over'.. the public still wants to hear his Oldies, not his new stuff.. he tryed it, but he had the feeling that the Response was not enough. I see that in a different way. But for sure the only thing that could have break this routine was after the Aloha show. Imagine that: you are the first artist who's show was broadcasted via Satelite World wide.. and then, 2 weeks later, you are back on the stage in Vegas for a audience which are (mostly) not very interested in Elvis, they were interested to be entertained between gambling and it was important to see Elvis.. not the artist, the 'name' If you will...this would be the time where he finally should let go TP and do a World Tour.. heading for now challenges if you will.. maybe 1 season a year in Vegas with just one performance a day, and a touring like any star do it, even back then..
Anyway, I want to thank you for your work you do for us, really! And I wish you and your family and friends a wonderful Christmas and a happy new year!!
Take care, see and hear you in 2024

Once again, great video! I feel like I know a lot more about Elvis vs when I first started listening to his music and becoming a fan at 17. And the beginning of next year is gonna pretty much be all about Elvis for me, (Little self promo) I'm in a musical called All shook up it's not about Elvis but it has all his songs and I got the scheduled, rehearsal starts Jan 8th! I'm also going to be going to Vegas after the show, so I'm super pumped.
(Okay self promo done, sorry if that was unnecessary.) Again, great video it's nice to see him be himself rather than what the Colonel wanted you to see.
