@@SCMESD Much appreciated. You can do so much with this in creating and designing your own sounds in Maschine. AYE! I was inspired by The Mandalorian LOL!
I’m still a begginer but what I find most difficult is to create and sincronize the hi hats , triplets snares kicks etc and blend it all together with the melody
I think this could be really handy, if you're towards the end of a project, and you discover the bass drum or rimshot or what ever , isn't Punching thru the mix. Possibly many other variables too , (I'm a long time multi- instrumentalist, but relatively new to recording sound, and beat making , specifically)
I don't know where my manners are, Excellent Video and tutorial, I've watched a couple of your tips on Maschine , and I've been meaning to sub, but now I finally did it! Great teacher and valuable lessons/tips/techniques THANK YOU
Why doesn't native Instruments or anyone tell us about this stuff? I've been over + over the manual, I watched almost every Boris (the NI Maschine dude) I even paid 20 bucks for a supposed video that explains "everything" in Maschine (?!) I just watched another individual show how to record anything you do in Maschine, and that was nowhere to be found or heard on any of the aforementioned tutorials, either (?) IT'S A CONSPIRACY 😅 (Seriously doe, it's really strange why they aren't showing us these hidden tricks, not even in Maschine MANUAL)
I was so confused why so many people made videos stating layering as 4 separate pads playing together. Totally not the same. You did your thing my guy. You did what we been looking for. Simple, 3 kicks one pad. Finally someone gave the people what they want. Good job and Thanks for sharing
RIGHT!!! I am not so sure that most people who are making these types of videos about drum layering in Maschine really know what drum layering is. Grouping pads and layering are definitely not the same thing. Much appreciated and thanks for checking out the video. Anything else you'd like to see?
Brother, this was extremely helpful. I thank you for putting this video up. I've been on Maschine for a while, and never knew this could be done. Keep posting video like this!
Lol that’s dope!!!! Even though I wouldn’t look at it as a wrong 😅way of doing something but an opinion & sharing great ideas 💡💪🏾🎁learning something new.
I've been working with Maschine for almost a year, and I'm having a hard time switching from a regular DAW. I accidentally came across this video while looking for additional knowledge about recording drums and I'm thrilled. Great work, thank you!
I appreciate you taking the time to check it out. I am now just waiting to see what NI does next because they are not keeping up with these other companies today.
This is most intuitive video Iv seen on Maschine drum layering and is exactly what I was looking for. Thanks for your service and keep up the great work,✌️🇨🇦
This is a great video, I am about to try this out tomorrow. I usually use Big Kick by Plugin Boutique to layer drums, but they only allows 2 drums at once. Being about to have unlimited drums in the Maschine is crazy!
Yeah i have found the same thing with different plugins. This way gives me the flexibility to layer any sounds and make them my own. All the other videos I've seen are not layering drums correctly.
@@WeCreateMusicTV the difference between loop modr and gate mode and how to use loops without resampling... And what's the difference between the engine can I see everyone use mp60 but what are the others?
This is dope! A very cool method of layering. The only reason I would use more pads is to be able to filter the kicks so that I can get just the top of one and the bottom of another. In ableton its easy to do this with the drum rack. I'm going to add this method to the arsenal tho, because I do see it being beneficial in certain situations.
Let me research and find out. My first initial thought is no but there may be a way to do it. You can definitely do it by grouping the pads and then adding individual effects to each pad as you normally would. Layering is a different type of processing as you are blending two drums together to make them cohesive.
Just a random question; Do a lot of you fellow beatmakers out there tune your drums to the music, (Keys, bass, guitar, etc) Or , do you tune them to each other? Other ? Personally, i have tuned drums a couple times , (to the music) i cant really say whether it was for better or worse, When i played with a group, i know our permanent percussionist / drummer would tune his toms and snare, kinda just to the rest of the drums..... Just curious !
You tune to the key of the song. So if your creating the song in Eb then you want to make sure that the drums are the same. Not so much the percussions but definitely the main instruments, keys, bass, guitar, etc.
Because putting them in a group is not actually layering them. it is as you said grouping them. Layering give you the ability to make them blend and create a more dynamic kick, snare, etc.
@@WeCreateMusicTV yeah, he’s right, you have all this control and more over them on linked pads, this just limits your sound shaping abilities. The best thing to do would be the group them, tune, ADSR, compress, limit and EQ them individually until they work together perfectly and resample that back into a single pad.
hey bro are you in Atlanta, if you are lets Collab, i think, i remember you saying in one of your past video's that you were in the A. Bro that was some fire shit right there. I go by see Cmillionz. Hit Me.
What possibilities do you see for layering drums with this process?
I often use Maschine to sound design. This is a really good tip. You can add a lot to the sounds. That "THis is the Way" bit was so cool.

Game changer.... Keep these coming....
Right. I definitely slacked off with these Maschine videos!
Oh my God. Thank you for expanding my maschine knowledge

By far the best tutorial about how to layer samples I've found on UA-cam.

Glad it was helpful!
Great video, Sir!

Definitely appreciate you checking out the video and finding it helpful. I am sure you'll be using it forever now.
thanks, wasnt aware that one can load two sounds to one pad
Thanks for watching! Yes, Maschine is such a versatile device!
I'm glad I came across your video this is the 1st time I've ever seen this video and I will definitely be described into your channel great tip
Please do!
Thanks for that information it was very educational...I LIKE!!!

You can still do that with this process and the drums would actually be layered properly.
@@WeCreateMusicTV Can you do a video on how to filter in this mode? Can’t figure it out.

Thank you 💪🏿
Any time. Thank you!

good stuff! my question is can this applied to parts/songs already in progress?
Not sure, I think it is possible. Did you ever find out?
Is there a way to add effects to the separate samples by layerng this way and also filter them individually?

Thanks for the sub!
Thank you! I did not understand the power of Zones.
Yeah for sure! The beauty of Maschine is that you can do so much!
This feels like a extra step compared to grouping pads
Could be but the feel of what layering allows you to do vs. grouping is where the magic is.
Its so easy to put them in the same group so they work together and you keep the flexibility. I dont see any benefit to put them in one pad.
Because putting them in a group is not actually layering them. it is as you said grouping them. Layering give you the ability to make them blend and create a more dynamic kick, snare, etc.
