- I've loved Totoro's song for many years, it's so sweet and innocent 💚I didn't have the chance to watch the movie when I was younger though, I watched it a few months ago and I really loved it ;w; Ghibli never disappoints!

@@MoisesNieto This is another request from me. Its Inochi No Kioku - Nikaido Kazumi (The Tale of the Princess Kaguya OST). I recommend ( if you haven't watched it already its on netflix) to watch it, because its such a underrated and powerful film and that way, you will put in the most emotion into the song just like you have done with tonari no totoro and all the other songs!

I saw this video when it first came out, and even a year later, I'm still breathtaken by this masterpiece. You play so effortlessly and carefree, a staple connecting to the original song. The arrangement itself is quite simple for anyone with piano experience, but adding the right dynamic contrast truly sets this cover from many I've seen on UA-cam.
Every year at my school for our choir program, we have a concert dubbed "Pop Show", a concert for us to relax off of choral music and focus on more mainstream music, such as in musicals or media. This year's theme is movies, and I chose to audition the Totoro theme song as a piano solo. I learned the arrangement off a Synthesia cover and can basically play it with my eyes closed, but my keyboard is pretty cheap so it stays the same volume so matter how hard I press the keys.
I've been practicing instead on the electric piano in the choir room since I can utilize the dynamics on it (even comes with a great pedal) I've been trying so hard so figure out how I can make the song dynamically entrancing, and then I remembered this video, this cover right here I saw way back when. I have so much inspiration and drive to learn this piece to the best of my ability, and this cover gave me a great framework for what I can do with it. My audition is on April 24th, so I hope I'll have enough time to master it.
If I do perform it at the concert, I'll ask my choir teacher if I can have the recording and post it to my UA-cam channel :)

There was a bit of a mix up when my teacher said I’d gotten accepted. I’d tried out for two songs and I assumed it was this song that got in, by apparently it was my piano cover of Kataware Doki that got accepted! It was a magical experience playing such a beautiful song in front of an audience. I had a mother come up to me after the concert said my performance was heavenly. That really stuck with me 😭
Forgot to mention this but my friends’ duet of City of Stars from La La Land got accepted as well, and I was their accompaniment for it qwq
Edit: My teacher also said that any recordings of the concert can’t be distributed online because of a copyright law in my school district, so I can’t upload it to my channel >:/

new subsrciber here. it's July 2023. I love this totoro music piece. Brings me back a few memories at 5 years old while I was living with my grandmother in Taiwan before I left for the states. I would watch totoro at my grandmother's house and she raised me until I left Taiwan for the states but she now passed this year. I've only seen my grandmother twice my entire life. She will always be in my heart and in my memories. I will forever miss her. Thank you for playing this beautiful piece.

To answer your doubt, I think this is a piano arrangement by Tomohisa Okudo. I'm not sure though because there are some slightly different parts but it sounds mostly like it!

Thank you! Yeah I didn't play it because I feel it's long enough like this (and honestly I didn't want to spend more time on the piece haha), I like learning many small pieces at the same time instead of very long ones, so I cut it out~

I am saudi guy who starting practice piano before two weeks and use apps for learning but how much gonna take me to play like this cause i really can't find tutor in my city
I started playing when I was 7, so it's been many many years 😅 Still you don't need that many years to learn pieces like this one (and besides everyone learns at different paces / speed), just try to play a bit every day and you'll keep improving!

El tempo de tus notas tiene algunos saltos, pero lo haces muy bien, solo te falta mejorar en el llevar el tempo correcto. Soy muy exigente para mí, y te opino desde mi punto de vista, no quiere decir que sea algo malo, me parce que las notas estan todas bien :)
Gracias! Es cierto que hay más rubatos, juego con el tiempo más que en la canción original 😅 Entiendo que prefieras un tempo más constante, no pasa nada! El juego con el tiempo es cosnciente e intencional, me gusta así pero es muy probable que si la tocara ahora o en el futuro lo hiciea diferente~
