This bike just keeps getting better! The last main hurdle of this bike is sorting out the title situation which I have been working on since day 1. Once I have that sorted I will update everyone.
Never seen a master cylinder used as an ashtray before 😂
Great to see another old Honda saved for future owners to enjoy ❤
🤣🤣🤣
I used the zip tie method to put on new tires on my bike last week and the rear tire took 4min 2 sec to seat 😁 then front tire was even faster . definitely the way to go when mounting tires yourself.👍
🤘🤘🤘
tire machine have cheap easy build not need stupid zip tie or other old style manual waste time.
@mattivirta this is the same as commenting on a video about jogging and saying "why would you jog when cars get you there faster"
When you open the brake reservoir and all your dreams turn to dust ! Chopper style ....... old school cool.
🤣🤣
But there are people who ride that can't have a smile on their face, unless, they're riding the latest and greatest and will turn their nose up to someone enjoying an old school chopper. Nice job bringing it back and making it safe. KEEP ON SMILING AND RIDE SAFE OUT THERE BJ!
I like the look of the 4 pipe setup Honda used to use back in the day, even though they add too much weight. Bike went from Deathtrap, to Resurrected !
From my hideout in S/E Asia, I get a very real sense of what you do to be replicated here, although not to your high standards. Local workmanship has always appealed to me, and they've kept my CB's alive and well, although a shortage of original parts means borrowing and adapting. It's a pleasure to sit and watch your work as the monsoon barrels in at 4:00pm
Well hopefully the videos offer a bit of an escape from that rain!
I love this old school chopper. Can't wait to see a road trip with it!
It will be fun!
Cool, dehydrated brake fluid....
A favorite snack!
Just add brake fluid to reconstitute
Nice job salvaging the front brake parts and straightening those forks! On the 74 CB750 that I salvaged out of a shed my front master and caliper were similar and I just never thought to save them, so I replaced them with aftermarket parts. Really like that chopper! Hard to believe the stock pipes are still on there. Can imagine how many folks watching this channel would love to have those on their bike!
Oh the pipes are definitely the most desirable bit to say the least. While yes you can replace a lot of stuff for less time, I often like to rebuild when I can as the parts on the bike have a consistent patina to everything else.
Great job BJ that front brake system was a real mess 😊
Great Love the old 70's chopper style
🤘🤘
Getting those swingarm bushings OUT is quite a task . If you find a pair of snap ring pliers that work on those master cylinders, please share. Thanks for the video.
Correct. Out was tough without damage. Motion pro makes a specific set of pliers for this which I now have
Lol. That thing screams 🎶"... Borrrrrn toooo beeeee wiiiillllddd!!!" 🎶
100%
Greal lookin chopper Mr BJ, didn't see Clyde on the back🦍
It’s not really a full on chopper with that rake, but none the less it’s a very cool old bike 👍🏻 I wonder, why didn’t you guys clean the rims and spokes on it? I like this style video BJ, you were right 🫵🏻👍🏻😁
That bike is stretching the definition of repair. Great job so far.
One piece at a time!
I've riding bikes for over 40 years now and have never ridden a chopper, actually never even ridden a bike with ape hangers for that matter. Probably never will, but would be fun to try.
rsm8
It's a fun experience. A different riding style and feel completely
Hi
You left out the best part: how to get the circlip out of the brake master cylinder! 🙂
And this would have the perfect opportunity to twin-disc the front wheel - we all know it needs it.
I don't like to show things I don't have a proven method for so that's why I don't show removal. As far as the brakes they work great. No 2nd disc needed at all
@@BrickHouseBuilds Thanks - now I know I'm not alone in my struggle with that damn caliper circlip!
Great no nonsense restoration.
🤘🤘
Take it easy on those new tires ;)
And....another one bites the dust!! Awesome! ❤
Impressive job on the forks!
Thank ya!
I love this earlys chopper
awesome vid.. would love to see a video on sycing the carbs for it.
@bryandeja2702 I actually have a full carb rebuild video for it and more. Maybe check out the first start episode.
I am not a chopper guy but that thing is cool
It may not be everyone's style but I love it for the character
Good job on the forks BJ.
Thank ya
K&L is the best!
I love this build out of them all so far
Well it's the only one I didn't build 😅
@@BrickHouseBuilds not totally true rebuilding is still building and being fair you'll probably make a change or two suitable to you and your style that's what's awesome about choppers
Steppenwolf dude. at least 4 bars.
I have a basket case sporty with forks bent, would you reccomend getting new/used replacements vs srtaightening them?
Well since you can easily get new forks for that bike, that would be my path. I tried on this bike but they just aren't available
@@BrickHouseBuilds I hadnt thought of unavailability. Thanks as always
Nice work guys bike looks and sounds great that break piston looked lovely lol 🔧🔧🔧👍👌🏍️🏍️
Thanks Peter!
@@BrickHouseBuilds welcome always mate 🔧👌👍🔧
the coolest motorcycles to convert into Cafe Racer.
CB750s in general make a great cafe. This will stay as it is though.
Nice Bike ❤
It's definitely come a long way!
Nicely polished engine on that one. Do you have a process? For me, it was hours and hours of elbow grease with the engine out of the frame.
This has chrome plating actually
I'd be more worried about the chrome plating being worn off the fork tubes than the bend. That's going to just chew up those new fork seals.
Yup, no other option here. We did sand then wet sand down to 3000 grit though to get them level and smooth.
A little help, have a 1984 Honda VT750 which I have been getting back on the road, have replaced the front tyre as was perished , the back tyre isn't perished but is 11 yrs old, should I replace it ??
Hi, yes the rule is the replace a tyre over ten years old as it may blow out...
very cool
🤘🤘
Do you have a video where you installed that starter button? I really like that and my bike is already missing the handlebar ignition switch. A guide would be awesome.
No video unfortunately. It bypasses all safety features by tapping into switched 12v on the black wire. One side of the switch goes to black, the other to a solenoid lead, other solenoid lead goes to ground
@@BrickHouseBuilds Thanks. Sounds like I would have figured it out if I'd put two seconds of thought into it.
Not a fan of choppers at all especially on a classic CB750. To each his own. Nice job on the repair.
Please watch this video on why this bike is cool ua-cam.com/video/C5mYEK3LSM4/v-deo.html
I would suggest a 4 into 2 exhaust.
I would like one but this will stay how it is
I wonder how much it costs to rechrome the wheels. A 16in rear was put on my 1975 cb750 and I'm not sure how to find a replacement and it looks worse than yours. I also need to get the frame powder coated. I don't think that will be too bad because there is a shop here that does a lot of dirt bike frames for a decent price.
A lot of guys used a harley rim to do a 16 conversion just like my bike here. You could investigate that front
"The only thing holding her together are the bird droppings, sir!" (C)Down to periscope B-movie
I frigging LLOOOOVE that movie 🤣 BUCKMAN!!!
Mi love honda CB
Awsome
🤘
Hey have you ever tried aftermaarket intake boots? Should I just bite the bullet and pay up on the OEM ones?
I wouldn't be scared to try some from 4into1.
@@BrickHouseBuilds thanks, 4into1 hasn’t let me down yet, why would they start with intake boots!?
Nice❤
🤘🤘
Where do you get the start switch? I'd like to install one on my Sportster and possibly my KZ 750 chopper
It's a generic button. Nothing fancy
@@BrickHouseBuilds I found a bunch online, ordered a pack of 5 LOL
Brings me back to the early 90s when I started riding, when these weren’t classic, they were just “mint”. Definitely the best era of motorcycles, thank you for keeping them alive!
🤘🤘
...And when you cut zip ties somewhere one Greta Tunberg cries :)
You have a vapor blaster!?! I want one.
It's a recent addition and super nice to have
It must been in the shade for a long time 😲 you think 🤔
It was indoors
👍🏻
🤘
👍😎👍
You should have cleaned the wheels when you changed the tires.
Sorry
do you have title problems
Nothing I can't figure out
Not for all the tea in China, would I get on that 😂
Cool
I dont like tea either… let’s ride!
Why didn't you polish the rims?👎
Why would I polish them?
@@BrickHouseBuilds rusty and dirty
It can still be done somewhat but you can't polish rust. The goal was to be mechanically sound
@@BrickHouseBuilds but can polish and take off all rusty and maybe paint little clear coat not rust more.
@@mattivirta that doesn't make it ride better. I can wipe them down whenever I want
totally amateur bleeding system, lot better use vacuum pump and bottle sure all air suck out off system , lot easy and lot fasten and sure safety system than old style manual shit bleed.
You really dislike me don't you? I couldn't possibly do something to your standards yet I'm out here doing work and you're behind a screen trying to tell others how it should be done.
