I think Pavarotti himself acknowledged that she gave an excellent version of that song ,when he held her hand to the audience and kissed it.I seen him sing with others and there was a quick bow to the crowd and he was gone ,not this one ,this performance will pass through the generations and inspire 👏

I don't care what genre you are you must appreciate the beautiful GOD given talent of these magnificent vocalists.I was a vocalist in a local metal band on the 80s and 90s and watching this gives me chills to be privileged enough to hear this.

Dolores’ rendition of this Schubert song converted is my favorite version. Her keening and Limerick accented cover of this Latin prayer simply hits the right spot of my soul (assuming I ever have one.) Then Luciano’s booming voice ensures all the gods hear their prayer! RIP you both. Thanks for the music.

Poor thing. She was such an Angel of beauty, but she had terrible self esteem on so many levels. She was the girl of my dreams as a teenage boys in the 90s, and I pray she sings with the heavenly chorus now.

Dolores is absolutely miraculous here. She seemed to not be 100% here like she might have a bug or cough (slight voice strain), but the hair on my arms cannot lie...I got goosebumps while she was singing.
I was in the presence of an angel who is singing the Ave Maria. It was incredibly heartfelt and full of soul. She sang it so well. I love it.

What's not to like about Dolores O'Riordan and Luciano Pavarotti singing Ave Maria? Who would give this a thumbs down but a mo-ron?!?!
I didn't give this a thumbs down, but I can tell you what's not to like about this performance: the fact that most pop singers have little or no vocal technique and sing with whatever 'natural' abilities they have, which gets many of them into vocal problems sooner or later. Secondly the fact that many listeners consider this good/pleasing singing rreflects the very low level of knowledge of 'what is to be considered good singing' .
Well, considering Dolores sang out her heart for almost 30 years, came from a choral background, and was still making bel canto the night before her death, you clearly don't know what you are talking about.

And Pavarotti himself asked her to sing for the Pope. So apparently he is a charlatan too in your estimation?
